  1. That's....OMG...that's.....

that's just WAY too awesome. They really DON'T want me to ever stop playing this game do they?
  2. I really like this implementation. I was afraid it would be like Guild Wars with $10 a slot. Price is pretty reasonable, though, and everyone gets at least a few freebies to start with.

On the downside, how the HECK can I concentrate on any one character with so many fun options?

Anyway thanks from a happy player.
  3. I seriously hope this doesn't actually happen. I'll be really miffed if what was supposed to be a fun weekend event turns into me not being able to play the only characters I care about, which are on my home server of Virtue.

I tend to play off-peak but still....*crosses fingers hopefully*

    My First Tablet

While a tablet takes a bit of getting used to, I never found the transition to be as difficult as what you are describing. That price was AWFULLY cheap, you must have gotten suckered into buying a faulty tablet.

My first tablet was an Artpad II. If the Intuos is a Cadillac, the Graphire is a Honda Civic - nice and functional, without maybe all the bells and whistles. My Artpad II was more like a Pinto and I didn't have as much trouble as what you describe.

Sorry that didn't work out for you. I'd encourage you to buy one from a reputable dealer and try again. Even the refurbished ones usually come with a warranty, and if you find you still don't like it you should be able to return it.
  6. Nice guide! I especially liked the pros/cons section. The only real drawback to the combo for me personally is the redraw time on the bow, and I suppose that's going to wind up being a matter of personal taste as to whether or not that small delay is acceptable.
  7. Nice guide. I just wanted to add that I've found for my Fire/Dark corruptor, Superspeed has great synergy. Not only can you stack it with your own stealth field to get invisibility, by can run into a mob at the back of a room, drop darkest night (which does not suppress your superspeed), and run back to cover. The mobs will come, dragging others with them. The only problem is, it works SO well you can get cocky and pull more than you should very easily.

Edit: Also wanted to add that Hasten as a prereq for SS is very nice. You won't need it all the time, but when you know a nasty fight is coming up it's nice to be able to pour on a massive recharge buff and get those heals coming faster, or get Tar Patch up ASAP.
  8. I've found that, for me at least, once you've found the "trick" to the CoV respec, it's much easier and more managable than the CoH respec.

I still dont get it. How is this different from anything else? No set has -Fly resistance that I am aware of so wouldnt this trick work on any Flyer? Knockback protection will not protect you from -Fly that I am aware of.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I guess you can still get immobilized while flying but...big deal. Turn of fly/hover, fall a ways, and time it so it's back on before you hit the ground. This is a good tactic to know ANYWAY, and you can practice the timing outside of combat.

Nothing gives -fly protection so you aren't any more vulnerable to Air Superiority or Hurl or web grenades and such powers than you would be otherwise.

I suppose the only place where you are now vulnerable is if you are jumping. Getting knocked back mid-jump does not give the cute little "flip then keep going" that hover and fly do. It'll knock you back well and good. Still - for having my immob/kb protection on a PASSIVE power that also has energy resist - that seems like a fair enough trade.

If you are a flyer or teleporter this isn't really any kind of real drawback. If you are a jumper it's a minor one, but you can always still take acrobatics if you hate it THAT much. If you are a speedster this won't effect you at all, cuz you'll always be on or near the ground. Unless the odd chance that you are running and jumping OFF of something and happen to get nailed with a knockback attack in mid-fall. And still, that's not going to be an all-the-time situation, so I don't really see what all the hubbub is about.
  10. If Chain Induction can't be fixed, I'd much rather see some sort of redesign. An XP-loss power will just be a "don't take this power" power. Look at how to some degree Confuse STILL bears stigma from the days when you got NO XP from mobs killed by confused enemies.

Slightly reduced XP I can live with, especially if it helps me tear through the mobs. But NO XP...blech. I'll just take another power. And I don't think ANY set should ever have a "just skip that one" power.
  11. When company comes over you say "Another Visitor! Stay awhile....STAY FOREVER! A HA HA HA HA!"

You are scared of sea horses because they look like that darn dragon from Adventure.

Despite having owned an NES, SNES, Playstation, and Dreamcast, you still think of gamepads as "them new-fangled controller thingies" and miss the days when all you needed was a joystick and maybe MAYBE a paddle.

You wish there were more games with vector graphics.

You see an arcade machine and wince at the fact that you can almost never find one that costs less than 75 cents to play, and certainly never find one that still costs a quarter.
  12. I've had this happen too. Really strange. I usually get dumped in the city somewhere, usually on some rooftop. I've also been dropped into the water near the Hero base.
  13. Heh. Three of the 5 times I fought him, I soloed him on the 4th difficulty level with my stone/stone brute. Took nearly a whole tray of inspirations and was a tough fight. It was so fun, glad I can repeat it agai. Gonna have to snag my fire tank and see how she fares as well.

I mostly concentrated on Snaptooth and let Mud Pots whittle away the minions and lt's, with liberal use of Fault in there to keep 'em on their backs.

((Edited to fix a stupid typo.))
  14. Cin - "Thy soul is condemned!" (always get ribbing for that when fighting robots)

Midnight Aurora - "You are, like, SO in trouble!"

    Tommyrot - "Joke's on you!"

    El Burro Negro - "AWWWWWW-EEEEE!"
  15. One of my characters is an ex-demon, and very very old, though now she is mortal and will begin aging normally. She is still in touch with many of her demonic powers though, and some that arent' included in the CoH powersets are her ability to change her appearance to almost any human female. However, it does take concentration and when i have her doing portal missions to other dimensions she always reverts to her "natural" form, which is quite ugly indeed. She says it takes too much concentration to change her appearance when she travels outside her home dimension.

I have another character who gets most of her powers covered nicely by the existing powers, if not the actuall effects. her flight is really from a rocket pack that she built, and her energy blasts are really from dual ray-guns, which she also built. Stuff that's NOT covered are some nice things that her costume provides. For one thing, it's sealed and she can survive in space. The helmet converts cosmic rays into brethable air and also food and water (don't you love comic book science?). She can also see in several wavelengths well beyond human vision thanks to that fancy helmet.

Be nice when they give us jetpacks then she'll look closer to how she should, but until then..that's what our imaginations are for.
