Actually I've sniped a few mobs that wandered out of visual range before the snipe hit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, notice the part where I said *substantially more than visual range.* Unless a snipe is fully slotted for range (doubtful, unless you're HOed) the max is 175 feet. That's 125 feet of leeway.

Besides.. if your snipe hit, you did damage and should have gotten your share of XP no matter what So why are you complaining
  2. [ QUOTE ]
    1) Increase mob XP outside of missions (so that street hunting becomes worth-while)
    2) Decrease mob XP inside missions (to discourage farming of missions)
    3) Increase mission completion bonuses (to encourage completing missions)
    4) Reduce debt penalty while in missions (to make missions 'safer' than street hunting)
    5) Increase XP bonus per team members (to encourage large teams for hunting & missions)
    .
    Rinse and see what happens

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll buy this on ONE condition. Keep the total XP for missions the same. Whatever you reduce the enemies by, you'd better make the end result compensate fully. Otherwise, those of us that run missions normally are being severly penalized.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
Last night while playing my level 22 Rad/Rad Defender and hunting with a 23 Scrapper I died and while laying there 20 feet away from the fight waiting a safe opportunity to use an awaken I got NO thats NADA ZILCH NONE and ZERO XP. I hadnt delt any damage but I had debuffed the mobs and been useing my heal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Let me see if I'm clear here... you were running into melee range to heal the scrapper, but couldn't take half a second to toss a brawl (or Neutrino Bolt). That's all it takes. One little attack. Is that asking too much? Or just don't die... that works too.

As for the 300' thing... just so we're all clear, that's substantially more than visual range. If you can SEE the enemy, you'll get XP for the enemy. Simple. If you're too far away to see the enemy... then you're obviously not fighting that enemy. Tell me again why you should get XP for it.

Though I really DO like the idea of sending wasted XP to debt. If debt is fully paid off, well then you've been dead WAY too long anyway.. get up and contribute.

Remember that this change does not affect Powerlevelers in any significant way, this really only affects non-PLers (cause most PLing happens in missions)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can't help but think that this is EXACTLY what they're going for. If someone wants to PL, they can go do it in their mission, and stop lagging up the trams.

PLing will probably never go away fully. Even if they add enough new content to last us 20 years (that's most peoples PL-ing excuse, lack of content) there are still people who's sole purpose in this game is to have the most lvl 50 toons possible.

At least now, they're not bothering the rest of us who actually PLAY the game
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Cause the devs nerfed SGs down to only 75 members, and nobody wanted to team with these 8, since they are all notorious PLers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No way they could be PLing, Ms. Liberty is WAY outta SK range

In accordance with the actual topic, however... I would really dig more backstory and learning more about the surviving 8, and subjicated 6 (Minx, Valkyrie, Swan, Infernal, Luminary and most recently Aurora Borealis). I'm kinda hoping the new Top Cow comic book delves into this area
  6. Odd... I could have sworn there was a two week age limit on old posts before they were deleted... yet the thread I started 10 days ago is gone. And that's not even taking into consideration the few replies made. I should still have it in .doc format, so I'll see if I can't repost it and link it up for you.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Can anybody who claims that "holding the head takes down the shield" is intentional explain why the generators exist at all?

Without head-holding, the generator/shield sequence represents a very tough exercise in coordination for a large team.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I kinda hve to agree with the rest of the people here. As much as this kinda seems like an exploit, I don't think it is. Just a controller, doing their job. At least the devs gave teams w/o controllers a way to work the trail.

    [ QUOTE ]
With head-holding, the generator/shield sequence seems like basically a kick in the face to groups that don't have controllers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With such an insane regen rate of AVs and Monsters, the slow, whittling down process basically seems like a kick in the face to groups that don't have scrappers/blasters.

With such high damage output that Warrior Hewer Elite bosses have, the hit/run process basically seems like a kick in the face to groups that don't have tankers.

... see where I'm going with this?
  8. [ QUOTE ]
    now, I wonder.
Instant healing treats healers like res %s, but do hamidon enhs Gogli exposure give a 50%/30% to it? or is it 50/50, and potentially when 6 slotting making it better than I2 instant healing? dun forget integration, up to 4000% regen?

    [/ QUOTE ]

As absolutley wonderful as this would be (and it WOULD be) Remember, it would require 12 Hammi-Os.. and not just any 12. 12 of the exact same ones. Add the fact that just about everyone has at least 1 heal (either a heal other, or heal self) and you've got some stiff competition..

But hey, if you ever pull it off, lemme know (so I can avoid you in the arena )
  9. Ya know States.... I heard Positron whopped yer butt in playtesting the Arena

And just for the record.. Yes, yes I would like to know... you tease

I'd like to think Striga as a whole set a new standard.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wholeheartedly agree. If you can get even half as good as Striga (which would be about Hollows level) with future zones, I think you will be doing very well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What he said... that goes DOUBLE for me

I absolutley love Striga. The contacts, the missions, the taskforces, just the [i]feel]/i] of the island.. WOW. The whole place seems more alive. If this is what we can expect in future updates... I see a long and prosperous future for you guys.
  11. Firstly, awesome guide. Very informative and unbiased. A few things I've noticed that I'd just like to add:

You might also want to point out that Nova form doesn't just have inherent fly. You have PERMA-fly. People who haven't played the squids yet might not realize that you literally CAN'T land, walk, run, etc. Also, the fact that this is the only flight that doesn't come with an Acc penalty (an Acc bonus even) might be worth mentioning.
  12. First: /em Praise. Positron proves once again why he is the man.

    Second: How about handicap matches? 1 v 2... 1 v 3 if you're really arrogant.

    Third: NERF HERO HERDERS!

there are now earthquakes when you zone from one zone to another using the highway tunnels,

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Never seen it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My only guess is that he contstantly zones at the exact same time as Kheldians. Their *Kaboom* I'm a squid/lobster animation fires off every time they zone
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    o.O

    Whoa... 298 words...

    *keels over in surprise*

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *follows suit*
  15. Another addition to "Jousting" - If you can time it right, hit jump right as the animation starts going. Most (all?) attack powers require you to stop and execute the animation. However, if your airborn, you'll continue along your path. It works even better with ranged attacks, no matter how short the range is.

With Super Speed and Super Jump, I've been able to hit melee attacks, and land 100 yards away right as the animation finishes.

If you can't picture what I'm saying, look me up in-game sometime, and I'll be more than happy to demonstrate.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
I just have a terrifying image of a lecture hall filled with hulking freaks in body armour with flames roaring from their hands and electricity crackling across their bodies. That's not a class I'd like to teach.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can just see it now. The conversation between some huge lumbering flame tanker and the professor

    Tanker: WHAT!?!?! TEACHER FAIL KRUNK???????

Prof: Well, your attendance has been less than perfect. Not to mention your reading comprehension skills are extremly sub par.

Tanker: BUT KRUNK BUSY SAVING THE WORLD!!!!

Prof: I don't want any of your excuses. Please Mr. Krunk, retake your seat.

Tanker: BUT BUT BUT... KRUNK SMASH!!! *giant eruption of flame, followed by the collapse of the University*

The name The White Rabbit hints at three things:

    1) Possible Time Control powerset.
    2) Rabbit Ears costume detail.
    3) I have too much time on my hands and read too deeply into things.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think I'll have to go with option 3

Ya know, I think the Dev's put this kind of stuff out on the boards as an evil way of asking "What would you like to see" or to get ideas. You know someone at Cryptic is reading this thread going ...

"That SpongeCake guy has a good idea for a 5th/Rularuu thing."
"Ohhhh Nazi-Zombies, why didn't we think of that?? thanks Nephillium"

That's one of the best quotes, from one of the best movies of all time, IMO... if you're gonna use it, use it right...

"WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! Ok, you are now firing a gun at your 'imaginary friend' near 400 GALLONS OF NITROGLYCERINE!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Even better, thanks for shoring up my failing memory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Happy to help. but ya know, it's just not the same without the associated visuals... that's it, I'm ditchig work and going home to watch Fight Club.

So did Tyler from Fight Club.

Whoa! OK! Now you're shooting at your imaginary friend!

I'm at work... what it is?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's someone on GameSpy claiming that CoV will be released on January 5th. As cool as this would be, I'll be skeptical untill I see a red name confirm it.
  21. Exact same problem, Carnie story arc. It happened about 3 or 4 times in one night. Put a note in the error box that appeard and /bugged it each time. Hasn't happened since (been a week or two now)

    GO DEVS!

    [ QUOTE ]
After they put the Babbage spawn back in, I vote that they put it in 3-4 other places as well, and keep 'em spawning all night. Personally, I'd LOVE to see an army of 10 of them rampaging through Boomtown. Hell, rampage a force of like 200 Clocks, lead by 10 Babbages and a CLockwork King down the streets of Steel some evening. You know... just to spice things up.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Amen brother! I think they should have monsters spawning in every zone. Even if its like once an hour. In random placesso theres no camping. It's just a lot more fun.
Only ones I know of right now are
    1)Kraken in PP
    2)Adamastor in DA
    3) Babbage in Boom<soon>
    4)Jurasic in Eden
5)Big Malta Mech in either PI or FF<can't remember>
Feel free to update this if I'm wrong and post any others that I might have missed

    [/ QUOTE ]

First, let me preface by saying that this game is EXTREMLY fun... but our recent "invasion" fell a little flat. I would love to see this kinda thing. Super group chat channels would light up. "HEY, ALT MONKEY! LOG ON YOUR MAIN!!! QUICK! WE'VE GOT INCOMING!!"

Oh, and I haven't heard about Kronos spawning before...
  23. I've found that they are sparse, but they do exist. The biggest group I found were in the higher level zones. Try the NE corner of bricks, under the bridge. They were all over Founders and Peregrine about 2 hours ago (yeah for lunch break)
  24. [ QUOTE ]
If there is anyone out there over the rank of Major, please call my duty NCO and order him to get me out of the office so I can help save the City!

    I could pretend for you...
  25. [ QUOTE ]
Ok, whatever genius at Cryptic decided that they'll start the first server-wide event since the game launched at the start of the work day (PST), needs to be arrested...immediately...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please read through the thread before posting something that has already been discussed to death. Let me sum up....

"No, they can't release it while I'm at work."

"But, your work hours are Cryptics work hours. Plus the load will be lighter. Thus the devs can fix all issues, on the clock, without EVERYONE having to experience all the bugs. By the time you get home, everything will be good to go. Stop crying"

    "Oh, I guess your right...'
    .
    ..
    ...
"No, they can't release it while I'm at work." (repeat et. al)

Edit: Just for the record, I too work on the West coast. I probably won't be online till 5:30, which is still 7 hours away... 6 hours 59 minutes....
