    I keep waiting for someone to develop something along these lines and I keep being disappointed. Maybe Hi-Rez will get one of the Tribes games their developing right....

    As a returning PvP'er I haven't seen much of this. My team, which seems mainly as broke as I am, helps where they can but it took me several weeks to get working farming build and then I had to farm to get a cheap build for my Emp which only has two purples and a limited number of PvP sets. Perhaps I am asking the wrong people or not asking enough but from my perspective its a big impediment.
  3. It's strange, once no one would have considered a non-test server tournament serious. It certainly helps level the field because everyone can have the most expensive builds, but I can also remember several matches and even a big part of a tournament, that were delayed because test was down or unplayable.

  5. I'm not all that averse to changing the order of the powers, but what I don't understand is why there aren't teams of Spine/* stalkers working together in SC. x3 or at most x4 Impales from Hide = dead squishies and always has.

    Not a Captain so this really isn't my place, but I can guarantee that Shenanigans is competing honestly. Also not my place but an elimination based play off makes much more sense than the current one.
  7. I wonder if the developers would ever consider adding cross server arena matches. Dealing name space collisions is trivial in an instanced environment like that and it would do wonders for arena.
  8. The lack of range hits it and Blaster damage in general is better but the control offers some new wrinkles. There are some natural (I think) counters to it that I haven't yet seen tried in large part because they aren't fotm, but if other teams go in this direction the meta will shift.

    Not to inflate anyone's ego but I don't see anyone but WARE running this successfully for a while.
  9. "Standard" jump team is usually 2 Emps, a Rad, and 5 Blasters (usually Psy/Em). There is a fair amount of variety with some teams adding another debuffer/disuption (Cold, Poison, or TA usually) in place of one of the Blasters. Some teams are having success with Earth/Fire Doms as their damage. No real spot for Kins or Sonics any longer.
  10. Pacing of the changes isn't relevant. Its kind of like when you have any big time consuming task in front of you until you can tackle all of it you can't do any of it because of the inter-dependencies.

  13. In my experience building software (not games) its actually seldom the case the development team doesn't know or understand what the player base is asking for. The problem with long unrealized demands that the demands are usually too hard (which really means too expensive) to give customers what they want. I _think_ this is the case here where we seeing incremental changes to PvP balance when we really need a holistic overhaul of the PvP rule set without hurting/affecting PvE.

    PVP Builds

    Are you going to be playing solo primarily or do you have someone you're going to be teamed with most of the time? Which zones (making an assumption here) would you be most likely to play in?

    If I remember correctly. People were advocating the suppression of TP in some form or another long before I13 came around. They were doing so for good reason... and I say that as an avid TP/Fly PvP'er.
    Killed plenty who tried this and anyone who though TP needed adjustment either didn't hunt in a pack or didn't know how to spike worth anything. Doesn't take 16 by a long shot, more like 3 people on target.
  17. That's only because in the screwed up current meta no one builds for team tactics. Killing or harassing support is what SHOULD be a big part of the tactics and honestly anyone who thinks you can't spike out an emp/thermal/whatever without the I13 changes is dead wrong though it does (and SHOULD) take a coordinated spike OR some kind of control/interrupt.

    Which is what SHOULD happen if the one winning doesn't have a tool to slow or mez the person running away. Keeping people from evading is part of the strategy in PvP that's been completely lost today. Either individual builds or team building should address running away instead of a built in mechanic that doesn't work well. Your entire argument seems to revolve around 1v1 and builds that don't have any control or slows.

    I can't stress enough how true this. IF CoX ever wants to develop a PvP following the game has to optimize for team v team play. HD, DR, and TS all diminish the value of support so you get what we have in the zones today which is mainly solo capable characters rather than teams. That's not healthy for growing a PvP community.

  22. I tested SA with the FF proc and for a while I was convinced it wasn't working at all, but eventually I did see it fire. However, it seems to fire much much less than in Footstomp in the same situation. I _think_ that the pseudo pet mechanic is keeping it from checking against each target, which _IF_ correct makes it a worse power than it seems
  23. I can't see this as serious request. Honestly, the PvP zones are pretty empty except for prime time on a few servers (Freedom really) and even the servers with a population are concentrated in fight clubs. The exploration badges are trivial to get (its even easier with any type of -PER power) without encountering a soul.
  24. The thing with arena is that it will be recharged at the end of every match no matter what the cooldown is. Having said that there really isn't anything in team v team arena I can think of that needs more recharge in the current meta. Perhaps stalker tier 9's or maybe double inferno with half a tray of blues?
