Awwww, so nice to have someone else join our little fish party! Also, nice looking character, there.

Yeah, I think it would be best to keep these on a "whenever we feel like it" schedule. That could change, but it works for the moment.
-
This is so frustrating. No one's sign changed... as long as it is the western zodiac we are speaking about! Geez. I am still a Scorpio, cuz I was born on the 20th of November. As I will be next year too.
News Flash:
Nothing has changed.

Get over yourself. It's just a game... people ASK, not beg, for things all the time. Wherever did you get such a bizarre and pointless stance on this NON-issue?
-
If that's supposed to be Venom, I have to say: What kinda bulls### is that?!??!
Otherwise: Maybe it is a single soldier from an army of Spiderman hunters? The costume itself is pretty okay... as long as it is not intended for use by any character that currently exists, that is. -
Not a helluva lot, Japesy my boy! We just be talkin' fishfolk, yo! Pass a cookie.
O-Quote:Well Pactolus, I'm about to double down with a deuce and a King, and two Queens. Pass the martini.
PS: I haven't committed Thermodon to a server yet, he only exists in the aether of the costume generator. I'm awaiting an o'fishal announcement of an o'fishal server for if and or when we o'fishally start running these guys.
O-FISH-ally.
Heh heh.
-ally, we are all on Guardian so far. Including your dude, Thermodon, there are 11 characters spread across about 8 or so people. As for a running night? We haven't set one up. So far, we have just played them together whenever a few of us have been on and we felt like it. I am thinking they will be for whenever, plus when we have too few people to do a proper RP night. Hell, we might switch over completely for all I know.

He looks perfectly fine to me! We shall have to give you a shout in-game and get you properly invited to the SG.
-
I see you are discussing Epics and not Patrons... I assume you already have this character as a Hero, or plan to do so before this build is final? Otherwise, those simply aren't an option.
Other than that, as far as I am concerned, if you have fun playing it, that's all you need to know. But, that obviously isn't the angle you take with building a character, so I will butt out now.

I added a team roster to a post above... like, the fifth one down or so? It includes some useful info about the current batch of Serrellians.
Quote:Eeeee, sorry to dissapoint, but I just made a "Sangarios" today as a secondary character to Araxes.Cool ... I'm thinking Peacebringer, I'm thinking the name of the River God "Sangarius" or "Thermodon", and I'm thinking I dont know if he'll be Tri-Form, or two-form or Serrellian-Form only.
(I'm listening to Dvorak's New World Symphony, the Fourth Movement, and and it just inspired me!)
Yes, yes you do... and yes it is. Personally, I use Photobucket. -
They sure can!! In fact I discussed the obvious humor factor with Jason the other night.
It would be great if the name incorporated one of those river names... but if you have something else that's fitting, that's cool. Marius, for instance, has a character named Three Mile Thanatos. -
Just an FYI... I posted some new information in the Serrellian thread. (There's a link in my sig.)

What exactly do you mean by the "re-stealthing" of Ninjutsu interfering with your combos? I guess I have never heard that term used before.
Do you mean with powers like [Placate] and [Smoke Flash] you will be going in and out of Hidden status more often than a normal Stalker? If so, wouldn't that only improve your overall damage? -
Okay... there were a few questions this past evening about some, errr, rather basic things when it comes to a given species.
Biology, Lifecycle, and Courtship:
A full grown Serrellian has some obvious features (mentioned above) that distinguish them from humans, but for the most part, their biology is rather similar. One important difference is that they possess a respiratory system similar to that of a frog's and as such are able to breathe on land as well as underwater. However, some Serrellians are so accustomed to being underwater that they find the transition to land a difficult one and must ventilate through a device filled with water (though this situation is more a mental one than it is biological).
Serrellians start life hatching from an egg. From that point to when they can be more independent, they are fiercely guarded by their mothers. The younglings grow rather quickly, and soon have ceased to have the appearance of ordinary tadpoles. Their growth much resembles that of a frog, growing arms and legs... and for the females, losing the tail. Some Serrellian males' tails reduce in size considerably (like the one pictured above) while others stay larger.
Once they reach the size of a human baby their development closely mimics that of a human's... reaching milestones over the course of years like a human does. A healthy Serrellian can live to be 100, but doing so is rare, a far more common age of passing is in the 80s or 90s.
After reaching maturity, a Serrellian female can begin to lay eggs. Typically, a single "brood" is 1-5 eggs with the most common size being 3. A single male, or single female egg is often regarded as special, and may later be a preferred mating partner. Female Serrellians, unlike fish, lay their eggs after they have been fully fertilized. The process of fertilizing and then laying eggs (referred to sometimes as "courting") is all a part of the same event, and is a rather intimate process. Serrellians, also more like humans than their fishy friends, choose a partner with which they will spend their days, usually until one or the other dies.
Many Serrellian mating pairs only ever raise a single brood of eggs... which makes their population trends over time surprisingly similar to humans as well. However, that does not stop Serrellians from "courting." -
He's pretty cool looking! We will have to talk about if we want to do a separate SG... or how this is all gonna work. None of those details have been talked about as of yet I don't think. We shall see yas in-game and talk.

Why thank you, Kay!
Also, I thought it would be useful to have a list of all the current characters in the SG and what their name, AT and powerset are. That way other joiners will know what names are used, and what ATs are well covered. Also included is who is pacted with whom (if anyone).

Here's a shot of one of my Serrellians, Araxes. He has greenish skin now, but you get the idea.
To the right, are all of Vince's Serrellians. They are: Enipeus (the heir to the throne), Inhakos (in two looks; he's the evil VEAT) and Illisioss (a Serrellian mage).

Hey there, all. Due to the waning enthusiasm in our SG, Wylde, Vince and I got to talking about other ides for a themed SG (this one with far more flexibility in terms of RP and playtime). Vince had already been creating these guys (Serrellians) and I had made one on a whim. Soooo, he suggested we branch out from there.
As such, I created a new thread... and a bit of a "primer" on what they look like and what pieces should be used to create them. Vince is posting a short little story about their origins... and I will toss up a couple example costumes as well.
If we are interested in a change (or just a suplement) I think this will be a good way to go.
Here's the link to that thread, also posted in Guardian.
Also, we may decide to use a different server depending on space and such. -
Serrellians are an aquatic species that has recently begun to come ashore in Paragon City, the Rogue Isles, and (accidentally) in Praetoria. This thread is dedicated to the Serrellian Imperium, a fledgling SG that is comprised entirely of these "fish people."
All current Serellians are named after Greek river gods and goddesses. A specific naming convention is not required, but for some appropriate inspiration the Patomoi (river gods) are found here, and Oceanids (river goddesses) are found at the same link.
Also, I thought it would be useful to have a list of all the current characters in the SG and what their name, AT and powerset are. That way other joiners will know what names are used, and what ATs are well covered. Also included is who is pacted with whom (if anyone). -
Sorry to hear that... on both counts.
Here's hoping everything goes as well as possible and that we can see yas next week (or before)!

Strangely enough, I am in both camps on this one. I don't think a "real swingline" that operates like Batman's should exist in this game unless it can only be used places with tall buildings and/or rock faces (or any other logical place a real grappling hook could be of use).
However, if they want to call it some sorta tech device that uses portals, or force-fields or what have you, I am all for it. Just so long as there is a reason WHY in CoH this particular grappling hook needs nothing to attach to.
Also, I don't see how one can argue that because it is a comic book... everything goes, up to and including Batman-like grappling hooks that hook onto nothing and allow one to swing over vast plains and/or oceans. As someone else mentioned, just because comics routinely break and redefine the laws of physics doesn't make them all gone, I don't recall any in which they have simply erased ALL laws of physics, for everyone and everything (of course now that I said this, someone will point one out). Each time a law is changed or broken, it seems to me that there is a specific in-universe reason that applies to a select (finite) group. As such, all OTHER laws remain intact. Because Superman can fly, does not automatically bestow Louis the ability to do so. To further illustrate: because folks in CoH can teleport, that does not mean that grappling hooks suddenly need no point on which to grapple. Period.
