I have a distinct feeling that "Moonlighter" is taken, did you check for availability on those?
-
Doc, that makes a lot of sense, actually... the just personal preference type of thing, not necessarily the "meant to sound like a superhero" part... that part kinda boggles my mind.
At any rate, I thought of a very different name for the card-themed dude:
The Ace's Joke — Sort of a play off the joker, and well, the ace part should be obvious. I am not sure if you have much in the way of personality for these guys, but this name evokes a very off-the-wall type of character which seems to fit the "wild gunning" style of DP's animations. *shrug*
Quote:Odd, it was that duality that was precisely why I liked it. This really will be a challenge, eh?It also might have something to do with the very scientific-sounding "neuro" part not "fitting together" with the less-scientific "freeze" part in my mind; once my brain gets "neuro," it wants the whole word to be that high-falutin' (neuroscience, neurosurgeon, Neuromancer). -
Quote:Yes, Moondust was my first choice...All decent names, but all names that rub me the wrong way for whatever reason; I think it's just that they all seem to be just "naming two things" names. They just leave me flat. "Dustmoon" less so than the others, possibly because reversing the syllables creates a "real" phrase (which is unfortunately taken).
Can you be a bit more specific about what is wrong with those? I especially like Neurofreeze as it is descriptive of the character, I thought.
I am not trying to lobby you into liking them (that's likely impossible) but I am a bit curious as to your thought process... also it could help others to pick better suggestions in the future.
(PS: All three have great costumes!) -
Quote:{Emphasis mine}[... I]t seems extremely unfair that I now have to pay for the ability to play my own ATs.
That there would be part of the problem. They aren't yours. Paragon Studios essentially allows you to rent space on their servers using their art assets, and powers, etc. provided you live up to certain conditions (like paying in some cases).
Doesn't that amount to exactly the same thing in this case? You want to have the characters you made unlocked... without having to purchase access to the ATs they use. That means you want it for free. You seem annoyed at this. AKA, you are complaining that you don't get it for free. Also, it is a restriction... on you... that makes you pay. Seems like the same thing from where I am sitting. *shrug* -
When I first posted in this thread, something was causing my game to crash when I had a created splash screen in use. However, now that I am using the program linked from the website, all is peachy! I have created several different images that I like a lot for the loading screen!
One of which is this one, based on a defunct image that would have been the loading screen when you enter an SG Base:

All of my suggestions were checked on Virtue, and were free as of this posting.
#1: Neurofreeze
#2: Dustmoon
#3: Cardshot -
I'm in the same boat as Xenophage, essentially.
Here is my main's Ouro Page, it has a few different shots of him. (I can get you additional shots upon request, if you want.) Also, the rest of my characters are on the site as well with pages in various forms of completion.

Quote:I understand completely. I routinely play the game with a large orange tabby sitting on my left arm, a vicious cat (named after Ghost Widow, appropriately enough) pretending to be a headrest and a cattle dog mix sitting on my feet. It definitely makes iTrials more challenging!hey, you type with an Italian greyhound wrapped around your left arm..i swear those things are part python...affectionate as can be, but they compromise your movement.

Though mine is pretty boring, I think... the one piece that is interesting to me, are the P and V macro buttons in Tray 4. The P is a popmenu with a ton of different powers, like Rest, Ouro Portal, TP to Mission, etc. And V is a popmenu with all of my Veteran powers in it. Very handy, and keeps my trays more empty.

10-15 minutes just to buy something? That's like... dial-up levels of slow. I see that the Market Interface is pretty sluggish compared to when I browse the web normally, but something seems to be very wrong there.

My characters don't explain it.
It's a game mechanic that has nothing to do with my story-line. My character doesn't know it's happening, it just does. -
The second one I get... 1945 is well well after he'd already accomplished all of the Holocaust et al. and was on his way to being dead anyway... thus invalidating the point of the trip.
(Also, might I point out that "one-use" when I read it seemed to imply there was no return trip either... technically, a return trip to your home time would be a second use.) -
Nice! Got my Dark Matter aura the second go round!! I very much appreciate Paragon amending the way that these contests work, and I even more appreciate the work that you guys now do for them.
Oh, and, well...

Quote:So... let me get this straight. You are mad at Paragon because YOU don't know what you are doing?Wait a minute... so we participate in this exercise but don't get anything for it ? I created the stupid Twitter account just for this. Sorry COH but this truly sux. What the heck is a DM ??? How do we get them ??? Never mind... I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up for anything. Piss poor way to run a promo. Yes, I guess I'm among the "disapointed ones".
Nice.
I have no clue what I was doing either and ended up missing out on the code. *shrug* Here's hoping that I will get one in the next go round. -
-
I think I figured out why I didn't get a code yet... because my Twitter account was protected.
That means they couldn't see my re-tweet. I had no idea how/what protecting my account did, but figured it increased privacy somehow. Which I thought was a valuable thing to do. And since I never got any kind of request so far as I could see... well... I was never able to approve @CityOfHeroes.
Guess that means I missed this go-round. -

Quote:When you create your account, it will prompt you to find folks to follow... just put City of Heroes in the box.Okay, have never seen a twit or whatever and have no idea about how I go about "refreshing" or "retweeting" anything. Do I have to have a telephone or do I use my computer?
I do know how to create an account.
Please can somebody explain in "old codger" talk how, when I have an account, I do both of the above. Thanks.
When you see the Tweet (Twitter post) from @City of Heroes, there is a link under it that says "re-tweet." What that does is have YOU post a copy of their message in your Twitter feed.
What that does in practical terms is allow people to see things who follow you that they may not see otherwise because they are not following the person/company you re-tweeted.
Does that make any kind of sense? -
Quote:Woot!we've modified the way tweet code thursdays are going to work.
For item codes, we'll announce when the codes will be going out, and we'll give people a specific amount of time to re-tweet our post. If you re-tweet our post, we'll respond directly to you with a code to use. No scramble. No luck involved. No twitchy fingers required. Simply re-tweet our post in the timeframe given and we'll direct message you with a code.
In short, if you want an item code, do the following:
- follow us on twitter
- re-tweet our tweet when prompted to do so
- receive a code
Absolutely love this! -
Shouldn't this be in For Fun?

If you can't laugh at yourself, you're doing it wrong. -
