I personally think that the "Moral choices" in Praetoria are currently in the wrong arcs. So far I've not reached one where "Join the other side" seems acceptable at that very juncture. I was particularly annoyed with the Crusaders, who did horrible things, but I wasn't allowed to leave until the moral choice for the reasons of "Why should the Resistance get the glory for my work?" rather than "These people are freaking insane." about two mission arcs ago.

Hm, so would SS/Invul be more to my taste than Dark/Invul? I had a SS/WP once already.
-
I know it's more of a Tanker specialty than a Brute specialty, but Brutes are far closer to meeting my "Can I play Disturbed's Indestructible while I play this character?" requirements.
Basically, I want to know which set can or feels like it can take the most hurt. I'm at this point fairly certain I want to go Dark/Invul, but are there any better sets for feeling like I can take anything?
Sorry if this is a stupid question. -
Hm, I'm having a really tough time deciding on a character concept. I've been trying to steer away from "Experiment!" because I know I'd probably think of something really weird and possibly theme-breaking if I traveled down that road, but at this point it may be the only one I can think of anything for.
So long as no one minds, I suppose that's my best bet then? Just tell me what sort of things you definitely don't want, and I'll see what I can work with. -

...can I be a space ninja?
-
In the end, I feel power suppression simply irritates legitimate players whilst the actual jerks and griefers will simply find a new way to cause problems - i.e. it won't solve anything.
-
If they're going to suppress powers like this, at least allow me to continue use of my travel powers and the portable crafting table, as mentioned. This extends to Pocket D, I think.
Also, it's been mentioned that the kill field does not always work, especially with places like the black market. I can see there being troubles with this if we had no powers and were busy shopping. -
I still want to use guitars and violins for the blast sets. I'm honestly not rolling a Sonic simply because I hate that my only option is to scream at people.
-
My only issue with Vent is that living in the southern hemisphere makes talking to those in the north a real hassle. With particularly bad connections I can talk and not be heard for almost half a minute.
It's awkward. -
I don't hide because on Virtue I've never had to - I only get like, one team invite every so often, and only if I'm in a crowded zone or during an event. I've never had repeated "JOIN ME" messages, so I've never found it took more effort than "Decline" to avoid them.
-
"What, the chair? That's nothing, wait until you see my dresser - it's made of real Hellion!"
-
"...and if I catch you scrappers leaping into combat ahead of the team one more time..."
-
Well, seeing the requests for a more specific "What do you enjoy?"-type question, it is probably fair to answer it, hm?
I think that the bottom line for me, a guy who has so far most enjoyed his Blasters once they reached the high-end levels, is that feeling of raw power that comes from being able to "sweep" a number of minions at a time. Now, having never played a Kheldian at all, I am unsure whether something like this is even possible, but if there was any way to do this whilst avoiding the territory of "Glass Cannon" I would be immeasurably happy.
I guess what I'm after, as with every archetype I play, is something which can do a decent amount of damage whilst still being self-sufficient - is this a reasonable request from the Warshade, or should I tweak my desires a little to better suit what is possible for the Archetype? -
Quote:While I agree with this analysis, this is fairly normal for GG.Please stop. I don't know any other way to say this.
Edit: You've gone from "Playfully representing your view" to "Aggressively attacking, insulting, and flaming anyone that doesn't agree with you". It's far past endearing; it's explicitly unhealthy for forum discussion. -
Given that in a previous thread, GG was advocating the invasion of another country to impose your personal values upon it, I find any use of Godwin's Law by her upon others to be hilariously ironic.
Edit: Oh, right, what would I do? Probably the same thing I do now, only bitterly. -
I'd love something like this, really. It might result in some emptiness from time to time, but it'd still be nice to say "Hey, after the mission, why don't you and go out for dinner somewhere?" and actually be able to go somewhere other than a dingy old base or an inter-dimensional nightclub.
Still, they'd be almost entirely an RP addition unless there were insp sellers or something in them, wouldn't it? Not that I have any problems with that. -
Don't be confused by the title, I'm not implying that Warshades are for dummies - no, no...
See, I have often heard it said that Warshades are extremely fun once you understand them, but extremely complicated to play well. As someone who has always held an interest for the Warshade, but a certain... hesitation in getting started, I would like to ask you - the people who are most familiar with them - where I should begin.
I have read a few guides which detailed combat strategies (most of which were rather dauntingly complicated, and give me cause to worry that just perhaps I am going in over my head on this one) and generally perused the threads here for a little while now. But the Warshade is a path open to me, and one which I would love to explore fully and safely regardless of the learning curve. You see, I do understand that playing this Archetype is very different to what I have done so far. Would it be a stretch to say almost a whole new game entirely?
What I am asking you, is perhaps what I might do as someone who is only getting started? What is a good way to begin my delving into this EAT? What play-style would be easiest on me in my first attempts at playing one of these, whilst still allowing me to experience much of what they have to offer?
Many thanks, The Overlord. -
You know, I was thinking recently about my and another poster's request for Guitars for sonic powers (I have a whole character concept riding on this!), and I just thought..
"Hey, wouldn't it also be cool to whip out a panflute or violin which glows when attacking instead of mindpower effects?"
And then I thought, how cool would it be to have instrument replacements for the ranged attack animation sets in general?
Edit: (This actually makes me wonder what options there would be for an "Instruments" powerset.) -
I can't help but imagine the whole thing could be avoided if people just said "I have SB, if you don't want it, tell me before we go into the mission and I'll not give it to you."
-
Quote:The only one of those that's a real hurdle is the attacks one, which I would understand it not being done for. The other two, though, are fairly easily achievable (in animation terms, at least) comparatively - just have the bike turn sideways so that when you move sideways it goes the direction you're moving (some animations are kinda like this already) and with the jump you could just make it a 'wheelie' look. You can't travel sideways on a motor bike.
You'd have to animate ALL the attacks + bike
You'd have to have a bike jump animation.
Would it be cool to have a bike power? Yes
Would it be realistic and achievable at this time? No
Of course, the amount of time it would take to do it in a non-lazy way? Yeah, I could see that being more than it was worth. Would still be cool though - and really, if they're already considering a hoverboard, it really is the same set of problems for that, too. -
I also kinda wish I could give my more monstrous characters a stooped, ape-like posture.
-
Quote:I can get the stance against vehicles, but I figure guitars are just as valid as screaming at people. We could probably sell the devs on hoverboards.
But you don't want me to pull out the massive repost torpedoing Vehicles.
Guitar's are not likely either. The Devs have taken a hardline against joke weapons in the past.
Edit: also, most of the reason I want motorcycles is because one of my characters is fluffed up as the leader of a motorcycle gang - so why does she walk everywhere? -
Still not sure whether this is the thread to put it into, but I won't rest until I can drive motorcycles for superspeed and hoverboards for flight!
Also, being able to shoot sonic attacks out of a guitar. -
I still want the ability to cause my character to go into ragdoll mode until I decide to move again. I would spend my days freefalling off of buildings.
