  2. Not a bad guide at all..

Us raiders on infinity usually do things slightly differently, but the phases are the same and whatnot.

Pets during hold phase: Jack Frost has a melee hold, don't forget about him... Also, Fluffy (Dark Servant) has 7 or 8 attacks he cycles through before he gets back to his hold, plus he spams an AoE heal... That's why we usually approve fluffy near 60% health (when we couldn't stop damage if we wanted to) as extra hold insurance...

Same time as we approve debuffs, as well. Just input from your friendly neighbours in Infinity

  4. My MAIN beef with this change is specifically that Blaster Cloaking Device is no better than Stealth of the pool power.

It can be argued that the pool power's higher endurance drain is balanced by the fact that you can invest to get Phase Shift.

I'm okay with the stealth suppression for 10 seconds, but losing HALF my defense in Cloaking Device? I'm not going to threaten to quit over it or anything silly like that, but it'll take some creative slotting to overcome this
  5. We appreciate you posting the numbers, States, but out of curiousity, what is your point in posting them? Hopefully it's to offer explanation as to why Ice Tankers am teh sux currently.

Your first post said that Wet Ice and Energy Absorbtion is working as designed, then give numbers that make me want to cry.

Look at Unyeilding, a power nearly identical to Wet Ice except for one small thing: Unyeilding is RESISTANCE and Wet Ice is DEFENSE. Because of the horrificly unpredictable nature of defenses, Wet Ice should have TWICE the base protection of Unyeilding.

My (sarcastic) fix: make Unyeilding .25% base resistance to all.
  6. *PRAETORIAN SPOILER ALERT*

Someone from my home server (Sephina) copied her Tyrant mission over to test. In the mission, you defeat Tyrant, and his minion group, and Statesman (who has been imprisoned) fights by your side until you exit the mish! It's really freaking neat.

Bugs: If there's nobody left in the mission to fight, Statesman acts... Oddly...

If you walk too near the lava in Tyrant's throne room, Statesman trys to attack the lava. While amusing, this is counter-productive.
  7. Neat set.

Ice Arrow mentions that it does damage-- It doesn't.

Glue Arrow's power icon is for an AoE Pet drop, and it's a Targetted AoE... That's the only thing I've noticed so far, aside from the Green Gas that is somehow Glue... Still trying to figure that out
  8. Neat changes-- I still have no reason to go there unless I want to do a longass TF that doesn't award a badge... Unless they added a badge for them I5?
  9. I like the new Accolade art.

One thing that's always bothered me about Accolades-- You get this privelage from completing epic tasks... But when you exemplar, you lose your accolades like they were normal powers. I think they should be always on, no matter when they were awarded.
  10. I tested out Defiance with my lvl 50 Blaster...

Usually I'm dead before I can get in two shots with a Defiance boost.

I think a better system would be to have Defiance's damage boost directly inversely tied to health, so that 99% HP= +1% damage. That way no matter what a blaster's health is, if the hero is under attack, he's feeling Defiant.

    Blaster Damage

    [ QUOTE ]
    I tried Range slotting.

    Doesn't work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

More specifically, the amount of time it takes a melee mob to get in range of you before you kill it is the SAME, whether you 6 slot for range or damage. Thus, 6 slotting for damage makes you more versatile when NOT soloing.

    Blaster role

    Right.

The line is drawn when an "attack"'s primary effect is not damage.

    Total Focus=Melee Attack
    Trip Mine=Melee PBAoE Attack
    Taser=Melee Control Power

    Blaster Damage

    [ QUOTE ]
the thing i dislike about CoH is the one sidedness of all heros. Blasters do this, tankers do that, defenders do the other thing. No comic book hero is so one sided. They all have some way to mitigate damage, inflict damage and stop the badguys. All comic book heros are able to "solo" excellent, they team only to take on the real big bad guys (read Avs and monsters in our game.).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Statesman has said repeatedly, that every AT should be able to solo their own missions.

CoH has THE MOST character-customization control of ANY MMO I have ever played or heard in depth about.

You CAN build a blapper or a blaptroller or a blastroller OR a damage-speced tanker or a damage speced defender, if you wanted too.

EVERY AT gets pool powers, healing powers, defenses, travel powers, concealment powers, these are all accessible to EVERYONE.

In WoW, character customization is in the form of "talent trees", but what that means is basically, there are 2 priest classes, shadow priests, that are mages with different skills, and healing priests. In CoH, there are 25 specifically different blaster classes (5 primaries x 5 secondaries). Each primary is different in playstyle and nuances, as is each secondary, whereas it doesn't effing matter what talents you take as a mage, you're going to be a ranged damage dealer, no alternatives.

So seriously, you might want to think creatively about character building before you suggest that there is a "one-sidedness" of each AT.

    Blaster role

    [ QUOTE ]
Most mobs require little or no real thought in defeating them. I believe the devs did try and create mobs that rewarded you for finding their mehcanism...but sadly, it is overshadowed by the undeniable success of straight brute force tactics in nearly all situations.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Couple observations...
1)Being a blaster requires more strategy than being a tanker, and the "brute force" arguement is void in blaster-dom.
2)Brute force overshadowing tactical play is true in
    every single MMO out there.
    3)This is NOT Zelda.
