  6. Howdy.

I'm not entirely sure of the appropriateness or frequency of threads such as mine, but I'm looking for a roleplaying group, I used to roleplay amongst my super group, but most of them seem to have left during my break for exams.

    Anyway...

I currently am on the Justice Server

And the rest of the description, In Character...

My name is Amrien Talfrey, I never bothered adopting an alias, I always preferred to let people know exactly who was saving them.

As for history, it all begins with my last name, Talfrey. For the past few hundred years, the Talfrey bloodline has been made themselves famous for their magic, and recently, (within the last few hundred years) has actually begun the industrial manufacturing of artifacts. This has made the Talfrey both powerful and wealthy, and for a long time, as long as the name was Talfrey, one knew there was great magic...

Until me, of course. I was the first child of Talfrey born without magic. I spent my childhood as the outcast, my parents, not so much ashamed, as unsure of what to do with me. I spent most of my time in prepschools, until I graduated, when I came to attend Paragon City University.

I was confronted by thugs. Nothing to even the most novice hero, they were none the less more than enough for a mortal like myself.

They came at me, they beat me down, and proceeded to take my belongings. As I tried to rise, there was a click behind my head, and then blackness.

From there, no one really knows exactly what happened to me. I was found in a hospital a year later, in fine physical condition, and nothing to suggest anymore. But I soon found out that I had a lot more energy than normal... as I began to run again, I found I was going twice the speed I was before, I was stronger, I had more stamina...

After having gone missing for a year, my parents made me move home, and for then, simply not attend school.

But it was not how it stayed. It wasn't long before I found myself in trouble again.

As they came at me, my eyes flared red, and lightning crackled across my fingertips. I had literally become full of energy. With my newfound power, I made short work of the thugs, and promptly applied for my Hero's Liscence.

    Afterwards, everything fell into place.

My parents were overjoyed over my powers, and after a few trips to various labs, we discovered I was in fact a mutant. After that, they decided it was best that I move back to Paragon City, and develop my abilites. They gave me an appartment, in Founders Falls, and I got re-enrolled in Paragon University.

I was no longer going to be mundane.

I may have been the end of the Talfrey mages, but I would be a whole new breed.

    A Hero.

((That was my original bio, stuff has happened since, lol))

    A short review of which...

    -Various trials and tribulations

    -Achievement of Security Level 50

    -Semi-Retirement

-Became a freelance reporter, but trying to get a job in the Paragon Times.

    Anyway.

If you're looking for a good roleplayer, call me up.
  7. My Character is a Hero as a hobbie.

He uses his real name in costume.

He's actually a college student, and is looking to become a buisness major, as to inheret his families mage craft buisness. While unable to use magic himself, his exploits as a hero have garnered the respect he needs to maintain control.

He lives in a suped up appartment in Founders Falls with a techie moogle named Holm.

    That's my character

    More answers....

Will power appearence changes allow for powers that previously didn't have weapons in the animations, have weapons? Like a gun that fires electricity, or a sword made of energy?
  12. Statesman, first of all, sorry for all the electric smack talk a while back, I was an idiot, electric is FINE as is... cept for one thing...

    Voltaic Sentinal.

Almost EVERYONE agrees movement was not enough, any chance we might get a little more of a tweak to our beloved sparky?

    Please?
  13. What are you talking about, Statesman won both the popular and electorial votes!
  14. It's official!!!

    Recluse concedes to Statesman!

A speech is expected to be made later.

Oh, and btw, I use statesman as bush in this joke not because he's republican (cause I dunno) but because he's the incumbent. That's the only reason.

Anyway, I find it hilarious that States/Posi won both Woodvale and Astoria.

Gotta realise, Statesman supports big buisness, thus the crey voted for him, and that swung the vote.

Oh, and Dark Astoria is occupied by nothing but zombies.

You know, just like 90% of the player base ^_^

Sorry, I do tend towards the overly verbose. And I also typo quite a bit...I have a thing about rereading and reworking posts to check for mistakes. If I do that..well, I end up rewriting the entire thing. But I thank you for the compliment.

And as for the 75%- a fully 200% of end recovery would pull out to around 30 seconds for full recharge. half of that increase, 45 seconds. Half again, 37.5, which is moderately close to your 41 second number- close enough, in my mind, to be within the margin of error. However, I pulled those numbers from a post on Stamina and Quick recovery, so I cannot vouch for thier accuracy. As the exact numerics weren't the point of the post, I did not take the time to fact-check them.

  21. [ QUOTE ]
Okay, probably a stupid idea but I'm bored at work so what the hey. Earlier in this thread I rehashed an idea that I had heard somewhere else: making every attack power actually STOP end recovery for a couple of seconds. A couple of people liked the idea but one person pointed out how annoying it would be when villians ALSO got the ability.

Okay, stupid idea time. What about a new enhancement? Call it, I don't know, Endurance Recovery Freeze? Say for each one slotted in an attack power you get a 1 second stop to endurance recovery (not sure what the exact number would be for each type of enhancement...just tossing out a number). People who WANTED to go for end drain could slot them at the expense of some damage potential. People like me who just care about damage could ignore them. I myself can see several problems with the idea (why should we have to slot ANYTHING to make what should already be a viable secondary useable), but it's just a suggestion anyway.

Like I said, stupid idea I know. Just thought I'd toss it out there and let everyone rip it to shreds or ignore it completely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like that idea, it's good.

and it solves the primary problem with endurance drain. It's EXTRAORDINARILY temporary.

Plus, it was stealth nerfed when Issue 2 gave mobs faster recovery.

Why did Cuppa jo edit the topic so statesmans name is no longer in it?

For some reason that really annoys me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

oh! I was wrong, it was a board rule, and I broke it! Please forgive me devs! I will have electric investigated, even at the cost of my account, but I won't break the rules!
  23. [ QUOTE ]
95% defense, with a 90% resist? INvul tankers can reach this, and the other tankers aren't too far behind.

'I'm sorry. Was I supposed to -feel that-? How do you feel about -this-! *squishy elec blaster sound*

End drain isn't psi, and no power in the elec blaster's repitore is nearly as good as, say, the Sappers. You notice how a tanker doesn't really have issue with Anti-matter....the elec blaster (tanker edition)? Of the 3 main end draining aiblities present in elec/elec, he doesn't seem to haev Thunderous Blast (The selfcost would be very high, and why owuld he drain his own end sinec we can't? Not to mention the outcry if he used a power this damaging), nor does he seem to have Short Circuit (this is probablyjust the devs being nice).

However, he does have (and use) power sink, as well as the inherent drain on all other attacks. Did any tankers notice e heavy end drain from him? I don't think there's a whole lot of chance of PvP powers being better- but I'm not a tanker and I couldn't survive a flury of his attacks well enough to notice end drain.

I am honestly not saying that end drain wasn't effective, but I would like to know if it was highly noticable or not. I do think that this is a somewhat valid representation of how the drain should work in PVP. Any comments on this from Scrappers/Tankers would be highly appreciated by me, I know. I've been told that the drain wasn't that high, but I'd like to have more confirmation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    !!!!

    I've got it.

I think I've figured out why Statesman thinks electric blasters should be able to drain bosses, and why they can't, AND it was your post that reminded me.

    Alrighty.

Let me begin by stating the assumption that States bases his assumptions upon the "Pen and Paper" aspects of how end drain works, not it's current implementation.

My train of thought is brought mostly from fighting lots of sappers recently, one of the worste parts of which is of course, the fact that they are essentially immune to my end drain, and then, they're very resistant to my attacks.

I've read on the boards (now, I admit this is only something i've read) That sappers have huge energy resistance, (and thus are able to survive our Thunderous Blasts.)

For a while, I just thought of them as a tough mob, that was impossible to drain.

Until it dawned on me, as I read your post.

Not exactly sure why I thought about it, but I wondered if your resistances would apply to end drain, and then I thought, if they did, tanks would be as impossible to drain as...

    An Archvillain...

So then I went back up and read State's reply.

    [ QUOTE ]
All secondary effects against AV's are resisted

    [/ QUOTE ]

And then, we all know Archvillains take less damage from all our attacks, which brings me to wonder...

Is endurance drain factored into energy reduction?

Think about it, if it is, it would explain so much about the problem, AVs would have stacked endurance drain resistance, first, the resistance of their basic resists, and then, the added bonus of AV resistance to secondary effects.

This mistake could have easily been made in the coding, causing the resistances to reduce end drain.

Alrighty, that's my theory, I'm gonna let it out there for a while. Please comment.
