  1. I think the complaints about the writing are subjective, for the most part. Anyway, the devs have gone well beyond the point of saturation with Praetoria. It was cool, we had an aspect of it and it seemed fresh. Now we've been getting it crammed down our throats for well over a year and half. Most of the major content additions have been Praetoria related. They killed any buzz or cool and have made a lot of players get nearly physically ill when we see anything Praetorian related.

The comic universe tends to be a big place. It may have been neat if we could have some other major player come into the fold but no...it's all Praetoria. It is also a huge joy seeing all these Praetorians have a primal counterpart (for the most part) and then many other main NPCs are versions of our signature characters? A bit of this might be fun but boy oh boy we are getting it and then some. I really think a lot of these factions lose their cache when they just got thrown at us over and over; it goes from cool/neat to resentment in some cases

I guess I wasn't overly clear. I intended my post to point out some cool NPC unique pieces that I would like to have as well as an idea for art direction. However, I must thank you for your completely useless/non-contributing post/attack on me. Speaks volumes, really

I also think some unique pieces would be kinda cool. Some NPCs are sporting some unique pieces such as most of Mother Mayhem's costume; Desdaemona has a tad unique looking going on. So maybe just giving us access to a lot of these pieces would be an alternative idea if the demand isn't high for a tights pack? Or maybe a mix of new stuff with NPC stuff?

I'm seeing some interest in such a set, but overall, my read is that it appears to be a lower priority than "old school" tights.
I like this a lot. Many of the recent costume packs limited our ability to mix and match so I think many players would appreciate it if they were better able to match these items.
  5. Honestly, I am not a fan of this era of costumes. I really hope you guys allow us to buy the Celestial set in the store.

As for the Golden/Silver age...I would like to see actual masks (not painted on looking); more belt options...maybe more symbols or emblems....I am not too sure what else to add at this point.
  6. Ugh. I really can't believe we get more Nazis. Such a lame, tired group and is somewhat offensive to many.

ANyway, other than those new arcs, I am liking the issue. It seems like a solid issue. It seems like Praetoria may not be involved in this issue so another big win. This might come close to i12 (best issue IMO) but we will have to wait and see! I might actually log in for the first time in almost a month....if i22 comes out soon enough I may even continue my sub!

LOL this is awesome. B-Teamers unite! lol
  8. Just a bit off on a tangent, I had a post once upon a time suggesting players submit their AE story in a contest where the prizes would be having the actual arc entered as a radio or paper mish or maybe even a tip mish. It would be pretty cool and would probably get AE going again and the prizes (being a part of CoX canon) would be way cooler than other AE contests they've had.

Some good info from most posts but someone obviously urinated in this guy's cereal. Wow. Snark at it's finest lol. Good comedy right here!

ANyway, I do not play as often as I did nor do I visit the forums as much as I used to. I do appreciate the Ustream synopsis by VK (very cool) and see the odd item here and there. I am not going to go digging for all the details of what is coming up but Zombie Man provided some coming soon general info.

I was actually hoping the devs would post something that gives us a general idea where this game is heading over the next year or so. More trials? TFs? More zone re-makes? Can we finally see Praetoria go away (sick and tired of seeing this especially in all trials)...I know they can't reveal exact details but a general idea would be cool

I would like to say I am surprised by some of the snarky posts but then I'd be telling a fib. Ah yes...the forums...they are full of something
  10. So, I have been growing tired of this game and ventured out to check some others. I noticed many of these other games update and inform the player base of what is in store for the near future. CoX has been my only game for a while but I started straying...I still....hope to stay here but I digress. These other communities get news about what's coming out ; why don't we? Where are the dev letters or state of game address? It would be nice to see the game head in a fresh direction as it is rather repetitive.
  11. Yeeeeeeeeeah the ITF is, probably, the best TF in the game. Many of the other TFs are not enjoyable and have absolutely ridiculous designs to them; those TFs are an embarrassment. So, the ITF is run a lot. Some teams like to plow through it and some do kill-alls. I did a kill-all earlier this week and it was fine.

I think the OP may want to actually FORM a team and declare it a kill-all or join one (check with the leader what type they're running).
  12. Can anyone detail what we're getting in the NY pack?
  13. Great work! If you ever want practice and want to make more based on toons, I'd love to volunteer several of mine!
  14. So, since MIDS has been updated, has anyone put together an optimal build? I have rarely leveled up resist based toons so this is kinda new to me. I am hoping for survivability and mass damage!

There's more than a couple of things that make me say this:

-The developers have said that since they started the system, the remaining 5 slots have changed from what they were originally based on seeing what we did with the first 5.

-The devs have said the remaining boosts will probably not be about pushing more raw stats, but would be more along the lines of Lore, in other words, gimmick power additions.

-Crystal Titan and some others from that mission are really GMs and were downgraded into AVs just for that mission. No amount of level shifts in the world will help you against a GM. So, if we're not getting more raw stats (and most ATs would need much more of them to fight the *real* Crystal Titan solo with such ease) and level shifts are moot, there's really no way everyone can ever get to the power level depicted in that mission.

The developers will justify the bait and switch by saying "Oh, well by going back in time you changed things so you never get THAT powerful but that's a good thing because of <insert BS story rationale>".

When we've got our Omega slot and we're still fighting IDF, only they're now 54+8, even those nameless IDF could smoke all those AVs on Ramiel's arc 1v1.

    .
I really hope the remaining slots are more 'gimmick' based as you mention. I think we have blurred some lines that separate ATs. I also believe our toons have become too powerful (when they have a lot of the incarnate powers filled). No more level shifts. Just add some gimmick stuff. Maybe some super weapon etc.

The other hope is better writing and themes for the trials. These should be epic and at super levels. Civilians should not be able to stone us to death (or to the hospital). I really think future trials need to have different themes to them as well; enough of Praetoria - it has been done to death and it is DULL!

So, yeah, give me a trial where we have to take down a new, unique enemy (maybe like a Galactus) with his super army. Oh, and make it super-heroish...not D&D-ish

Per the mechanics, we are effectively being de-powered by the Seers. The presentation should support that. Someone who doesn't even play, just looking at the screen should be able to say, "those rocks are hurting because you are being de-powered by those creepy floating ladies".

Not "how are those rocks hurting you when you are a giant robot?"
Well, kinda. However, no matter how debuffed you are, rocks should not K.O. a super so easily. If the toon has armor (concept here and immersion etc) then the rock is not likely to do a thing. I think everyone would have been happier if the players were attacked by supers and not civilians. The public opinion could still have been incorporated. This trial was not well thought or well designed, IMO.
  17. Ok so I went ahead and tried a build. It seems ok but very little offence/damage. Anyway, please look over. I'd appreciate any feedback.

  18. Ok so I am thinking of making one of these. Does anyone have any experience? A build? Is it a good combo? I have very little experience with either power.
  19. I don't find the TPN and Keyes fun.

TPN may benefit if the doors to the media buildings were clearly noted so we know where to go. It is far too often just disorganized chaos. Also the thought of being 'stoned' to death by a civilian (regardless of debuff) is silly. Also, the story behind the TPN is fine but it isn't something that should be a trial. It is more TF quality in it's importance. Should we really be getting our incarnate powers off this sort of mission??? Not very 'epic' at all.

Keyes is just running all over and a poor mechanic. I don't think it is very fun at all. On Virtue they happen from time to time and it seems mostly due to increased rewards.

I like the BAF and Lambda. You know the task. It is easy for new trial types and vets of the trials to quickly grasp the idea. It translates well to the video game realm and more often than not you will succeed.

MoM trial is OK but, again, a wonky mechanic with the psychic dots and later stopping the AV from getting to the middle of the room. Kinda un-fun.

The Underground is OK but it is tough. Chances of failure are too high. It takes a while to form trials especially when they're over 12 players. Underground may have worked better as a 12 toon trial.

So, yeah, I admit I have opted for the BAF and Lambda more often because you can contribute, it isn't overly chaotic and these two are kinda fun. The rest? Not as fun. TPN and Keyes? I avoid them.

Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to try and end it in a hospital.
Well, hey, you said it! Hey, how much did you pay for that set that you have on that toon? Was it $10 above and beyond your sub? Oh yeah? Great! Good for you. Oh, hey, here's another thing, if powers clip I guess they should let the all future sets have these issues. Sure. Why not. Sounds good to me. I love it. Good post.

Aside from all of that, your only other complaint is the sound effects being off, which I think I'd agree with. But the rest of your complaints are non-issues for me, just a part of what the set is. I think the animations are awesome myself, I love the set, and nobody's complaining about the damage of course. (Well... nobody that's actually paying attention.)
Nah, the clipping wasn't a huge deal but it is an issue. It looks bad and unprofessional.

The sounds and animations/impacts on targets/delayed reaction are my main issues.

Yeah I don't mind the set but, to me, it isn't worth $10. The quality is not there. I do like the actual attacks and the AoEs all over the place but the noted issues in quality are a problem.
  24. ...and Titan Weapons has been out for two weeks. What does everyone think so far? I tried it on beta and then opted to buy it. I don't know if I should have.

I do like the actual idea. The weapon is big but not titanic-like. They could have used some more creative/original skins for the weapon and not try to scam us for a pack on top of the original pack.

So, my biggest problem is the poor quality of the animations.
-The wind up on some attacks - the weapon disappears into the ground (partially) on the back swing. Kinda lame.
-The weapon clips all over the place (walls, items in your environment etc). Not a big deal and not much can be done about this but maybe the set should not have been made? It just looks weak.
    - Weapon clipping when you're combat ready. I have the sword on my HUGE model toon and when he is in a ready stance with the weapon, the blade goes right through his head. Ouch. Very cheap looking and poor quality.
    - There is another thread discussing the many issues with the sounds and the animations being off (impact happens well after the weapon has supposedly made contact and visual animations are off). I can't find the link but I agree with the OP there too. He made a few vids highlighting the issues.
    - The long animations can get annoying. When you don't have momentum, it can be a HUGE pain in the butt. The worst is when you are winding up and your team wipes out the target during your wind-up.

Anyway, just some issues. I like the idea of the set and it isn't bad but these issues are constant and bug me. For $10 this set should have been way better.
