  1. Congratulations and welcome to the addiction...er, hobby. A great piece to start your collection, too!
  2. Another vote of confidence for Becaro. Nice guy, gets his commissions done in a timely manner, and has frequent promotions. A hard-working artist for sure.
  3. The Masked Shrike

    City of Cute!

Adorable! And somehow slightly menacing. But then dolls freak me out a bit.

Congrats, that's really cool and huggable.
  4. Hoppy bird day, get lots of good stuff!
  5. Absolutely ridiculously cool.
  6. Beautiful--I just love linework like that. Congrats on finding this artist, I will be watching him now.

    The Gray Gallery

Whoa! Gorgeous shot, very different, grats on that one! (And a new artist for me to watch, thanks )
  8. Great pieces, I have always liked Aggelakis' design and with the bow she looks awesome. And the cuteness is pretty overwhelming on that last one! Grats!
  9. Cool piece with a fine pulpy vibe. Looks like a book cover!
  10. Love it! Love CB's work in general, this is a real beauty too.

    The Gray Gallery

Congrats on your great and growing Gray gallery! I must agree that Rhardo is really looking better than ever on these pieces for you. I think it's his best work yet.

I look forward to seeing more
  12. I'll sign up. PinUp likes icing.
  13. I have a collection, but certainly not among the biggest. But it is more than 10.
    Masked Shrike's stuff
  14. Ooh, nice! I loves me some Star Wars character art!
  15. Happy birthday, sorry for the lateness
  16. I love 'em all--really depends on the artist and the character. But if pressed, I'd have to go with 2D. My druthers is: give me everything!
  17. Howdy folks, I'm home from Down Under and I got a few bits of art while I was on my romantic antipodean journey.

    Cavalry McClellan by John Becaro
First piece of art for this character

Happy Ever After by Lord Alphie
PinUp and her hubby in best Disneyesque style, by an artist just starting commissions

Four vs the Fifth by Joseph Caesar
    Epically epic!

*waltzes Matilda off to await more art*
  18. Back in May of 2008, when I was just starting to get into the wide world of commissioned character art, one of the first artists I contacted was Joseph Caesar. I was really taken by his CoH pieces, especially the ones he'd done of Nike IX. So I commissioned him to do a one character piece featuring PinUp Girl versus the 5th Column.

Joseph came back with a really spiffy work in progress, inked version here, and I was *very* happy with it!

Time passed. There were delays. Joseph had a lot going on, but he stayed in contact, always answered my emails. He even called me internationally on his own dime to assure me that it would get done. As he told me, he was having a hard time getting his head around the character, and he wasn't happy with the WiP. He offered a refund, but I felt comfortable waiting, and I really wanted to stick with it. He asked if it would be all right if he scrapped the work he had done, and also, if I would mind if he expanded on it a bit...

Am I crazy? I said "Heck no! Go right ahead!" And I waited with very bated breath, dying to know what he had planned.

    Here is the finished piece:
    4 vs the 5th

Basically, because of delays, and his own dissatisfaction with his initial work, the artist gave me 3 times what I commissioned. He did this entirely on his own. THAT is the mark of a professional and a good guy.

I'm not trying to advertise for anyone. I just feel that this kind of class and professionalism deserves to be known. It seems to be a rare thing these days in all walks of life. He has earned himself a fan for life here.
  19. The Masked Shrike

    500 +

Whoa, congratulations, Thornster. That is a *lot* of work there. I wish I was that motivated!
  20. I *really* like her. It's a very cool pose...something about it really suits the character.
  21. Here's a very cool 'freebie' I received as a bonus for ordering some commissions--and danged if it ain't totally awesome:
    Masked Shrike by Oesalces

I may have to get this one colored at some point.
  22. Well, since I already *have* a Nude by Foo, I have to say this is an excellent idea, and I might have to get another. So I say go for it.
