Power Ranger's 18th season has NOTHING on the genre itself.
Wrong. Whoever gave that data was confused. That's a list of tokusatsu programing, not Super Sentai programing. Super Sentai didn't air until 1975 and is part of the tokusatsu genre of Japanese television. ^_^ It always makes me happy to correct one's mistake.
  2. Please, Super Sentai, the Japanese Series whose combat footage is taken from to make Power Rangers, has a total of 35 seasons. America was late to the game, Super Sentai was already 15 seasons old when the deal for Power Rangers was made, and even then Powerangers SKIPPED an entire season, they only used footage for the white ranger from that season, and used footage from another to do the whole 'Alien Rangers' bit that showed up when the Power Rangers were turned into kids.

However, Super Sentai wasn't the 'original' Tokusatsu Hero series. It had an older brother, Kamen Rider. However, Super Sentai has a longer season count than Kamen Rider because the Kamen Rider seasons were longer, and for ten years (the 1990s) Kamen Rider wasn't aired.
  3. For those of you who were unaware, about seven seasons ago, Disney bought the rights to Power Rangers. Well, On May 12, 2010, it was announced that Saban Brands bought the Power Rangers franchise rights BACK from Disney and the new eighteenth season will be aired on Nickelodeon in Spring 2011, with ALL previous seasons being aired on NickToons. So not only will we see new Power Rangers, we get to see all of the old ones as well. WOOT! We get to see Tommy kick *** again!

Continuing the discussion. I believe that Disney made a big mistake. Not only are they losing the rights to a popular franchise with millions of children watching, and with the reairing of the old series, hundreds of old fans, the show will no longer be aired on their channels, instead it will be aired on the channels of their long time rivals at Nickelodeon. It's like Saban pretty much added insult to injury.

    Feel free to discuss.
  4. Then there is the fact that the females have that 'fire' shaped hairstyle which I would KILL to have for a male!

He's actually there trying to pacify the protesters that seem to flock to the place to protest Arachnos.

Technically your answer did not answer the question and is not valid.
  7. So, I searched to see if anyone bothered suggesting this and noticed that NO ONE seems to have suggested it, which I found strange.

You see, I personally enjoy Giant Monsters and I know we have some available to us for use in our missions made in AE, however I don't like using 'official' factions/groups. When I make missions, I like making custom enemy groups and bosses to use for them and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I make missions to tell a story and the one thing that keeps coming me to mind; wouldn't it be cool if we can make our own Giant Monsters?

I do know there would be some issues with this, however I have a solution, although I am unsure if it will work.

When making a new character, you can choose Minion, Lt, Boss, E. Boss, Arch Villain or Person. Well, add in Giant Monster to the option list. Instead of Female, Male and Huge, I believe only Huge should be available for making a Giant Monster and the creation should be auto-scaled to the size of Jack in Irons or Kronos Class Titan. With that done, you can make your own custom Giant Monster without the developers having to totally revamp AE's character creation process.
  8. Once the chemicals used it in combine they'd eat through whatever was holding them in the first place so it'll be completely impossible to hold them in anything unless it was possible to freeze the acid first. ^_^

What show falls into the tokusatsu genre of Japanese entertainment; Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman, Metal Heroes, Power Rangers or Godzilla?
  9. Hey Black, if you're interested I made a tokusatsu themed mission arc (only two missions, planning on making it a fiver).
    Tokusatsu Hero Force

You might like it, it's meant to be used for rp purposes but I'm sure somone who can enjoy Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman and etc can enjoy it.
  10. The Lone Hero

    A question!

omg! I can make a non-Arachnos Soldier Villain that is still Arachnos Themed! :O
  11. ...I'll see if any of my friends are going and leach off of them. It'll be my first comicon! ^_^ and only a 2 hour drive from my house.
  12. The Lone Hero

    A question!

Yeah XD Sorry. Wasn't paying attention to the title ><
  13. The Lone Hero

    A question!

Hello City of Heroes/Villains. I have JUST, like literally two minutes ago, upgraded to a full account from a trial account using the Heroes vs Villains set. I have a question, however. What new costume pieces am I getting with it? :O
  14. *waves*
Rider OO is a homage to all Tokusatsu Shows.

The best, I suggest, is a Scrapper with Martial Arts (or longsword/katana), and Invulnerability, Super Reflexes or Will Power.

    Thanks!

btw, I'm willing to do chibi pictures of anyone's characters if they want me to. ^_^ It's my way of thanking everyone here for welcoming me to the game and convincing me to upgrade from trial to subscription.
  16. I love the episode of Justice League where Lobo shows up to replace Super Man when Super Man gets 'killed'. I'll take a whack at him if it means I get to pick the next challenge.

We need more people like Lobo in Comic Books and maybe in City of Heroes.

I made two, one without using a reference pic (Top) and one with using a reference pic (bottom). Both turned out decent for someone whose only be playing for about two weeks.

    And my challeng is:

Kamen Rider Kiva from the Series Kamen Rider Kiva

    Lone's Artwork

I'm not very good and I don't upload much, however once my scanner is working I'll be uploading more City of ___ themed pictures, possibly ones of Rider OO. Oh, and I do enjoy doing free commissions just know I don't have a working scanner at the moment.

    Some of my work:

    Chibi - Sephiroth

    Random Magical Girl

A fan-art of Raven and Pheonix. My old friend Jessy use to rp as Raven and I'd rp as my original character, but not originally named, Pheonix. I plan on bringing my teenaged pyromaniac into the world of City of Heroes, chances are as a villain. Of course, I'll be using a new name.
  18. No one has tried Lobo yet? Shame.
  19. The Lone Hero

    Hello

True, Science would make sense as well, since the power rangers from Time Force activated their powers through DNA.

EDIT: I'll be upgrading from trial today!
  20. Count Rider OO in.

    It's show time!
  21. The Lone Hero

    Hello

About the guild I want to start with Rider OO. I was wondering how many people will be interested. The guild was inspired by this comercial for a show coming out in Korea in October.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nc5rwd6bE2A

The guild will be for Japanese inspired heroes, such as tokusatsu, aka Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman and Power Ranger like characters, heroes and magical girls, characters like Sailor Moon. I'm going to be calling it Mahou Technoforce because the name is fitting. Mahou means magic in Japanese and Techno is because most Tokusatsu heroes are technology beast and Force is obvious. It'll be a roleplay supergroup and the only laws about joining will be:

    1. Your character must be based off of tokusatsu or magical girl genres.
    2. Your character must be of magical or technology origin.
    3. You must be a roleplayer.

    ^_^

I think I might give Rider OO various forms as I unlock costume slots.
  22. The Lone Hero

    More Heroclix!

I like both ideas. If they do this then you know what would be cool? A contest! Like the winners will have one of there characters made into a figure. You know how cool that would be?

  24. The Lone Hero

    Hello

Hello, I am The Lone Hero (@The Loner Hero is my global handle thanks to a typo). I'll be playing on Virtue and will soon have a subscription account. My main characters are Rider OO (Hero) and Talkarat (Villain). I figured since I play on only Virtue that it would be fitting for me to post an introduction post here. I'll start with some information on myself.

My name is Timothy, feel free to call me Tim, Timmy or Timothy if you want. I've been roleplaying for about 7-8 years now and I'll be turning 22 on July 24th. My favorite genre of heroes is tokusatsu, shows like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, the combat footage from Super Sentai was used to make US's Power Rangers. I enjoy making new friends and I am usually a very nice person. A few of my bad points is that I have the tendency to take things negatively, I always put myself down, it's hard for me to accept compliments as just compliments and I tend to be a bit emotional. Please be kind to me and I hope we all become good friends.

Now, some information on my characters.

    --Heroes--

Rider OO lv.2 Tech/Scrapper: Martial Arts - Invulnerability
    ---------
Rider OO is my main character and is a homage to tokusatsu programs. His true name is Kiro Takihata and his combar armor system was developed by a company known as Horizon Technologies. If you wish to know more just check out my description if you ever see him in game. He's usually around Atlas Park and The Hollows. I plan on starting a supergroup with him called Mahou Technoforce which will be for characters who are also themed off of tokusatsu programs, as well as magical girl, shows like Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew, themed characters.

Artic Shark lv.3 Science/Blaster: Ice Blast - Ice Control
    -----------
Artic Shark is a character whose origins isn't exactly original. He gets cryogenically frozen and when he is unfroze he finds he has control over ice. He also has two pet sharks who can also control ice and he lives on a submarine that patrols Paragon City's waters.

    --Villains--

    Talkarat lv. 12 Technology/Mastermind: Robotics - Pain Domination - Flight - Leadership
    --------
An alien invader who is a master with robotics, his gauntlets allow him to control pain. His purpose on earth is still unknown. He is my main villain, I made him while watching Invader Zim however the two have nothing in common.

    Bondage Shadow lv.4 Mutation/Stalker: Spines - Regeneration
    ----------------
This guy was made when I was bored and had too much soda. He values pain, pleasure and beauty above all else and enjoy pain to the extent that he will purposely inflict pain onto himself just to get his 'high'. Pain is like a drug for him. Due to his mutant powers he can grow spikes from his body and can regenerate faster than normal humans.
