I take it usually since I min-max and don't need both the ranged wands.
Its really nice when you get the special condiiton. -
In the comming Post Fitness era, Mastermind primaries can now be looked at as Whole packages.
In the past pretty much everyone used the pets and maybe the buff power.
But with fitness becoming an inherant, taking the entire mastermind primary is going to become easier and even desired.
So looking at the entire MM packages including personal attacks, how would you rate thier performance, best to worst?
I am pretty new to MMs (Long time player but I only played them PRE tankermind buff) curious how it works out. -
Getting AoE vector to 40 should be more than sufficent, its not worth pulling your hair out for the last bit of AoE defense

Quote:My Elec/nin and Spines/Nin Min-Max Builds have excellent teamed and solo performance.I never been a fan of stalkers, i got one to lvl 40 and another to lvl 46, but once the release VEATS. they really put stalkers in the hole....
I really dont see the need to ever team with a stalker when you can team with a VEAT who can Stealth also (after all thats all a stalker was ever good for) and Veats give off team buffs..
But I run into people like this all the time in game, and frankly I have nothing to counter them with. I cannot make a good case why someone should pick a stalker for a team over a scrapper, brute or veat. -
Quote:Yeah,it was buffer at the same time as blinding powder.Er... I know you said it's a topic for a different thread, but... Smoke Flash has 1.4x normal accuracy, 20' radius and 10 target limit. I'm not understanding your complaints.
It is going to be great on my ninja with just a recharge IO 50! -
Shatter Armor, from the Mace pool, on Veats
Edit I cannot read. -
Quote:Don't forget hide (Wow, you really hate stalkersI don't. As I said, the defense based sets will have to work harder to get there, but they'll still be able to.
There's a huge difference between starting out with 21.46 defense to m/r/a and starting out with nothing.)
I am an overreactor, and it depends on the severity of the nerfs of course.
Highly worried. -
Quote:Don't be coy. You know damn well what losing softcap will mean for top end performance./checks CoD for defense values on ninjitsu
13.875 melee
13.875 range, aoe
Ohhhhh, shows how often I mess with stalkers. Nin doesn't have the 5.625% from passives to work with. Good thing it has a self-heal, caltrops, placate and blinding powder.
It might be "good enough" for average players, but i know you wouldn't be happy with it, don't expect me to be happy with it.
Edit: Placate is a primary power /nitpick. -
Quote:I just barely bWhy would ninjitsu, SR or ice armor be hurt all that much? They all start with a huge chunk of defense to work off of.
The only builds that I see feeling the hit are the ones that have no base defense but are softcapped to S/L or melee or ranged anyway. They're the ones that should expect the beatdown.
The real defense based sets will just have to work a bit harder to get to the softcap.
hit soft cap with the ninja. melee and ranged.
Yeah yeah super reflexes is awesome....
I think its boring. -
Quote:Huntsmen do not use the mace in game.Huntsmen in game use the mace. However, this would buff Huntsman as well as Banes. Huntsmen would be able to use Build Up from the Bane tree without redraw, they would be able to take a few meaningful melee attack without redraw, they could get a hold without redraw. From an effectiveness standpoint, it's all win with no lose. It also allows the same sort of progression that we seen over on the Widow path. The Blood Widow path flows easily into the Night Widow path. Even the psi attacks on the Night Widow build use the claws.
This would make the Huntsman -> Bane similar.
The downside, of course, is that those who like using the gun for aesthetic reasons lose the option. Personally, I think power customization could deal with that. But it would make things dicey with people who mix melee and ranged.
You are thinking wolf-spider. -

Time to start Hording respec recipies.
Elec/Ninjitsu Stalker
Spines/Ninjitsu Stalker
Traps/Ice Defender
Huntsman
Plant/Psi/Soul OverDom (205% recharge, should be safe)
Oh gawd. -
I am a banker...
Right now I have a HUGE concentration risk in Defense builds, and you are foretelling a new world order where defense builds are going to be getting a massive hit in performance...
Highly worried. -
Quote:I'm not sure whether Banes need a buff or not. They are pretty clearly tank-mages and are probably where the other SoAs should be. What makes Banes look poor is that EVERY other branch of SoAs, including going full Huntsman, blows them out of the water.
After fighting it until level 40, I took my Bane over to a Crab and haven't looked back.
If I were to buff Banes, I would do the following:
- Change the entire Huntsman line to use the mace and change the animation of the "bullet" attacks to blasts.
- Change Combat Training: Defensive to melee defense
- Make the +HP in Bane upgrade enhanceable
Wouldn't this really upset the hunstman fans? -

95% of my characters are female (the one that isn't is a misogynist werewolf, don't ask).
Reason: If I am going to stare at a butt for hours on end, I prefer it be female. -
Quote:Its my opinion that single target only sets on stalkers blow.Nice try, Test, but I'm not the reason for this little thread-jack. You don't get to bag on ST stalkers and then tell anyone disagreeing with you to leave the room. It doesn't work that way. You don't want this here? Don't troll.
And this is relevant to THIS thread anyway. What is the perfect stalker set? Obviously I know your answer. And I even agree that some AoE is nice to have. But the one additional PBAoE that most scrapper sets have (which gets replaced by AS in stalkers) is not so totally transformative as you would have us all believe. It wouldn't make a Stalker that is "useless" on a team with only ST attacks suddenly worth having if his set got switched around to include that one additional PBAoE.
Its my experience that single target only sets on stalkers don't add much to a team, and are little desired since scrappers pretty much do it just as well OR BETTER while keeping SOME aoe too.
You aren't going to convince me and I really don't care to continue to derail the thread by arguing a point with you that has been well argued in the other thread.
Solution, I am just gunna put you on ignore.
EDIT: Its nothing personal, I am just past this. I found some regular people to S/TF with who appreciate my Min/Maxed AoE stalkers so I am fine. I am finished with thier Io'd builds, and have moved on to a sweet Traps/Ice Defender. I just don't care to discuss this anymore with you. -
Quote:You do know there is an entire thread for your topic?Well, they are for sure not the superstar teams you keep going on about that can kill entire spawns, +2 bosses included, in less than the time it takes AS to animate. But then again, you've yet to explain what good your Spines stalker is going to do on a team that is already killing that fast either.
The truth is that on most teams, you can contribute even with single-target damage. In fact, on any team that already has enough AoE to wipe out the minions and LTs easily, you are BETTER off with good single-target damage. You won't be racking up the largest total damage numbers but that's not what the team needs. What the team needs is to get EVERY member of the enemy spawn dead before it can move on to the next. And that's not true until the toughest enemies are dead. AoE kills the weakest enemies first.
Go there, if you want to keep trying to convince me that ST stalkers have value. -
But what is the story behind this stinker?
Was it once op and over nerfed?
or Were mercs as a whole once op, so the crappy utility power acceptable, and forgotten when meres were massively nerfed.
Are you telling me mercs have had this garbage since inception? -
Quote:Possibly you.play on rather weak teamsNope. Leveling up an MA/Nin now. Not having any trouble getting teams. Plenty of bosses to kill on teams, especially the ones running at +2. Funny... no one is killing those before I can. You said that would happen, no? Still waiting for it.
Yeah, sad existence alright. -
Caltrops alone is one of the best mitigation powers in the game.
It's also highly undervalued by the player base.
Skipping Caltrops on a Ninjitsu toon is like skipping the SR passives. -
Can anyone give me the story behind Serum?
Why is this power so terrible in a set that is seen by most as the bottom
performer out of the mastermind primaries?
Was it overpowered at one point, then massively nerfed to the state it is in today? -
I am quite happy with Ninjitsu combined with Spines and Electric Melee.
Great single target, Competetive AOE. Spines has a bit more control, and Elec melee has that wonderful aoe burst/KD.
NInjitsu provides the tools to assist and protect teamates via Caltrop and Blinding powder.
While some may depreciate the power of Smoke Flash, I have used it to a great deal and correctly slotted it is a HUGE mitigation tool, though dangerous for teamates.
I feel sad for those stalkers who are limited to single target only attacks, it must be a sad existance. -
Maybe the "coming storm" is a bunch of nerfs lolz.
