The only movie I think I've seen from the entire list was the Harry Potter film.

Quote:What's wrong with that rationale? Sometimes you have to get out from under the shadow of a legacy and create your own. Sometimes shedding a symbol of the legacy you're trying to get out from under helps. And sometimes that legacy continues to haunt you despite your best efforts. But it's only a Dick move if you're Nightwing. This is a statement that Statesman, the character, was holding them back in some fashion. Now, if you can come up with some decent rationale for why that should be the case, I'd love to hear it,but so far the only implied rationale is "he was part of the Cryptic legacy and we don't want to be associated with that legacy".

I'm lucky enough to have a Saitek gamepad from back before they got absorbed by MadCatz and stopped making gamepads. Saitek has/had their own mapping software so I'm not saddled with some jury-rigged third party Joy2Key-type setup.

And why do people so often read that someone doesn't like something and respond in its defense? I think people in general just have a tendency to be reactionary.

Quote:And if I could have the extra fly poses in similar no-End cosmetic toggles that could only be activated while flying I'd really be happy...Personally, I'd love for both of those to come with a no-cost, no-stats toggle that's just for cosmetics. If my werewolf could run like a beast all the time without worrying about endurance cost, then I'd be more than happy to give up the movement speed and jump height buffs.
I find that one of the biggest mistakes with Ninja Run was to attach stats to it. This made it impractical to run all the time, because then it had to have a cost and be mutually exclusive with a whole bunch of travel powers. I would not miss the extra movement if I could just use it all the time. -
Maybe they're going to do a Shapeshift power pool which allows you to shift into a slottable wolf travel power and purchase an attack or two and perhaps a toggle to use while in wolf form. Wishful thinking, I know.

Quote:Many characters that aren't Tanks, Scrappers, Stalkers, Brutes, or VEATs are potentially non-dependent upon toggles.I was just making the point that a person with a Warshade that has at least one other form doesn't really care too much about being de-toggled. It's going to happen any.
Still, the Coyote power is inferior to Beast/Ninja Run if it merely offers similar speed (accounting for Sprint and Fitness) and no other utility whilst disabling all other powers. Were it to put one at Super Speed/Jump level of ability without any other utility whilst disabling all other powers I might consider it somewhat worthwhile. Perhaps when Beast Mastery comes out I'll find a reason to buy it. -

Yeah, this is more 'the Old Republic abandoned us awhile ago, so it's about time we symbolically establish that we've moved on - change the flags and maybe use an ozonator to get rid of that Old Republic smell'. A far more benign sentiment.

Quote:I can map the mouse and mouse buttons to my gamepad. I just don't find the mechanics of their use to be very convenient, whether I'm playing with mouse & keyboard or gamepad. My preferred input device for CoH is a gamepad. Location based powers are basically a no-go for that because of the very (over) protected nature of left click. But I love TA/A enough to play it with a mouse. Low level you can get by without disruption arrow and rain of arrows, oil slick is awesome enough to make me use mouse+gamepad to fire it off, mid-levels, not so much.

Not to mention the original story being over a hundred years old.

I don't care for the trials or the tedium of accumulating the necessary bits and bobs to craft stuff. And I don't get enough Astral/Empyrean merits from them to reasonably be able to get the ridiculously overpriced costume pieces.

Quote:In which case complaining that Evil can't win is a fictitious notion to begin with. This is also setting an incorrect standard for the co-existing RP experience, and isn't even true in CoV. How many banks does the average villain player get to rob, how many police officers do they get to disable/murder, all without facing a real consequence for said actions?

Quote:At the end of the day, it's a given that Evil loses. No one is being forced to choose the losing side. Choosing to be on the losing team and then complaining that you can't win is... well, appropriate behaviour for a cartoon villain I suppose. There's a difference between "good conquering evil" in generic literature and a HUMAN PLAYER playing a villain. What motivation does a person have to continue playing a character who's doomed by unalterable fate to lose? I'll admit playing a doomed character is appealing sometimes, but not all the time.
I submit that a human player playing a villain ought to be able to "win" at least once in a while, otherwise what's the point? -

Indeed. I've certainly found the new Dark Astoria more interesting than the iTrials, but if one finds the advancement in the iTrials to be excruciatingly slow (as I do) then advancement via Dark Astoria is practically non-existent at the nonce.

They could just get rid of the City of Villains side of things altogether. It would be effectively the same for the Villains as if the "greater good" failed and the world was destroyed. They wouldn't be able to play any more, but at least they could be satisfied with the knowledge that they didn't do a good deed - and after all, that's what's important.

As I recall, the shapeshifting bugged me in that movie (and possibly its predecessor as well, though that one gets props for some excellent practical effects). The knees bending backward was just wrong. There should have been a relatively normal knee with an elongating foot.

If only the process was either fun or didn't take so darn long. I got burnt out on the trials just getting one character up to a tier 3 Alpha. The worst part is that what I really wanted were the costume pieces, and with all that effort I barely got enough to buy a couple of them.

I think the set could stand to be buffed a little bit, but I'm not deep enough into the numbers to back that up.
My main issue with the set is wishing that all of the powers were enemy targeted. I dislike location targeted powers in general, but in Trick Arrow they really interrupt my steady flow of thwipping. I skip the sonic arrow because I don't find it useful enough to make me want to use it as a location targeted ability. OSA's usefulness overrides my annoyance with its use. -
