Yes, you *are* all Magical Schoolgirls in short skirts?
No, you will not share your delicious steamed pork buns? -

Quote:Oh, sure, make fun of the King in Yellow.Actually no offense to the artist but that's not going to cause me to lose 1d100 SAN at all. It looks like an Ewok in a hoodie. (the joys of HP Lovecraft art. It's far easier to WRITE "unfathomable, noisome horror from beyond the stars" than it is to draw one.

Quote:While only offensive (powers that directly affect enemies) toggles get shut off any more, there's still enough of those that getting them shut off can be bothersome. They are in Radiation, Storm, Dark Miasma, Sonic, Ice Control, Fire Control, a number of the Blaster secondaries, and I believe Earth Control. Perhaps more. A number of those have recharge times that make them getting shut off quite annoying.Um... I'm just going through a list of stuff in my head here of the toggles non-melee's get.
I'm coming up with the Pool Power toggles for Leadership, the pool power toggles for tough / weave, the pool power toggles for combat jumping and acrocatics, the patron and epic pool powers with limited shields, choking cloud from radiation, a couple of AOE resist / stealths, and the debuff toggles on radiation and storm.
Quote:Now, I don't think I'm going to convince you that the anti-mez powers aren't pointless. My suspicion is that you've probably played a lot on Freedom or Virtue servers and just haven't run with teams that know how to use the anti-mez powers effectively. As I suspect that has been your in-game experience, I'm not sure I can fault you for finding the power choices less than desirable. -
Quote:Most of those are powers I'd avoid when possible.Okay, I can halfway see your point on the length of the buff, but all anti-mez powers are like that. Clear Mind lasts for 1:30, Increased Density lasts for 1:00, Clarity lasts for 1:30, O2 Boost lasts for 1:00, Thaw lasts for 1:30, and Enforced Morale also lasts for 1:30.
Quote:Nor do I understand the reactive use to be too late.
Quote:I'm also pretty certain the developers have made it clear that the anti-mez powers are short for balance reasons. Yes, you can keep everybody on the team anti-mezzed... but in doing so you take up time when you can be doing something else... like attacking, debuffing, other buffing, or controller. -
The disappointing duration makes it useless. It's too annoying to use proactively, and reactive use is too late. I find it to be one of the most skippable powers in the game.
-
Clear Mind. Don't like to use it; don't care if it ever gets applied to me.

The OP seems to be unable to do that. "I couldn't make the game window 'go away' with alt-tab or opening the start menu with the windows key."

That video sucks! Too much Architect and not enough Tails!
I'm kidding. Probably. They should pay you for these. -
Damage buff to defenders? Where did I miss this info?

I did something similar. The character's name was Damnd (because the whistling for Thugs was particularly appropriate), I was using Jake and Dug for the Punks, and I was going to use Andore for the Bruiser, but otherwise the same naming scheme.
-
Generally speaking, with either melee or ranged attacks I go with 1 Acc, 1 End Red, 1 Rech, and 3 Damage.
-
I auto-complete Coyote's mission in Outbreak every single time.
-
I can definitely say that you are not currently in the Issue 71 Closed Beta.

And I believe you can easily make it recharge fast enough to essentially be permanent. My Elec/Energy always runs around with Boost Range on auto. Distance Nuke!

Quote:Mostly ditto. Now, this only applies to me, but even if they made a ton of villain only content, I probably wouldn't bother with it. I like a lot of the power sets available red side, but for some reason I dislike the look of the zones. It's nothing I can really put my finger on. They all have their own unique flavor, but I always start feeling depressed after playing red side for a while. Also, for some reason, my frame rate tends to be lower in red side zones than in blue side - might be because villain zones look more "cluttered" <shrug>.
In any case, once GR goes live, ALL of my villains will be moving blue side. -
A "None" option for ears would be nice. If nothing else, it would solve some mask problems.
A Zorro-type mask - a mask-bandanna that covers the top of the head and is tied in the back; I think some TMNT depictions use that style of mask as well. With both long and short tie styles.
Large collars.
And whatever costume pieces get added, they should be colourable. It's extremely irritating when there's an awesome costume piece/weapon (like the Robotic Claw piece and the matching feet, or the DP revolvers) but you can't properly colour it. -
I've never personally acquired a single purple IO. And I probably don't even have 100 million Influence between all 23-27 of my characters, including four level 50s. And while I've had some marathon sessions in the past as well as long stretches of regular play, right now I'm playing about once or twice a month on average.
-
I chose /Devices. It's the secondary I often choose with blasters when I don't really care for *any* of the secondaries.

I'm not the one who brought up invested effort, I merely replied to the notion.
Quote:The game is not stingy. You ARE greedy.
Of course, if my superheroes didn't feel so far from "super" to me, I might be less concerned with items to improve them.
Quote:Does anyone still play the game to, ya know, play the game any more?
Quote:Then an MMO might not be the right type of game for you. For a Single Player game, then absolutely; 4 hours is a lot of time to play in one go, and 10 is an incredible amount. Goodness knows I felt beyond dead losing track of time in XCom, Civilization or Oblivion and feeling stupid at myself for playing them so much in a single go.
Quote:But in the world of MMO's time is different. The game isn't set up to give you a lot of big name rare rewards in 4 hours of play, but more like 4 months of play. For instance, Purple IOs don't drop but for an extremely lucky few; I've talked to SG mates who, while playing about 4-6 hours per day, have yet to get a single Purple since they came out. I myself have gotten I think 4 since Purples were added to the game, and I play in upwards of 6-8 hours per day. -
Quote:I consider, say, 4 hours of continuous play in a video game to be a significant amount of invested effort. 10+ hours is starting to get ridiculous, being more than an average work day invested in a game. If I don't get worthwhile returns on that, the game is stingy. In all my hours of play I think I've received one interesting drop. The few other items of worth I have on various characters had to be purchased at extremely gratuitous cost. No, people are just greedy. They want lots of shiny things NOW! Ideally for little or no invested effort.
And that's before even getting into the ridiculous merit system and associated prices.
This game is so stingy that I've honestly begun to expect every salvage/recipe drop I get to be named "VARISTA."
Now, I don't actively seek out farms and such, but I'm also not extremely picky about teams. I generally take invites where I can get them. And in the early AE craze I ended up on more than one AE farm team. The ticket influx almost helped alleviate the stinginess. If not for limited item availability and horrible prices it may have.
