I'm having a bug where I am unable to see the powers that my fire/kin is "excuting" when I go to the power color selection screen. I can change the colors, just not preview them or see the orginal color. I was able to play around with her colors on test, I believe.
I /bugged it. -
I had a problem of accidently moving the number of my active tray by hitting the minus key, which is right next to the 0 key I was really aiming for. If fixed the problem by going into the keymapping area of options, finding the command in trays that had the minus key as it's command, and then changing it to something I wouldn't hit on accident, like f11 or something. Worked great!

And paragonwiki does seem to be updated already. Good job, whomever is keep it current!

I like tea. I drink gallons of tea. Black, herbal, oolong, flavored, hot or iced. I am Tealeaf. I like tea.

This might make me (more) unpopular, but I would probably, no, I *would* be pushing the *zap! You're level 20* button were one available to me. I've done the pre-20 slough on so many characters. It seems to me that most characters don't really start to develope thier powerset personalities till around then. No, this doesn't mean that I don't love the game and I should go find something else to do. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. But yeah, I'd push the 20 button in a heartbeat.

Well, if nothing else it makes it possible for me to know how to tag it. Now that I know what you were asking, I've added the elec/shield tag to your post. If you click on it, you'll see a few other posts about this powerset combo, with a couple of them in the brute section. Even if you don't get any replies, perhaps that can help you.

Excellent, excellent work. You, good stone sir, git a cookie. A big one.

Are you asking about electric melee or energy melee?

I've been playing less waiting on I16. Getting my game on in other venues, so that when it does come I can play longer without getting burnt out as fast. So yes, I'm causing a market slowdown. Sorry.

Quote:I am the tagging queen of the forums. I'm on a quest to make them useful, and I tag every new post in most of the "information" sub forums. As a result, I see many, many of the tags other people people add.To the person who tagged this "Bind Noobs!" That really hurts my feelings. And, I don't see what this has to do with /binds. ???
It seems there is a large segement of folks that think that adding random or obviously inappropiate to the thread topic tags is just fun. Other use them for some passive agressive anonymous snark. My advice would be to just click on the ones that look like they might be useful, and ignore the rest. -
I can't add any better suggestions than this thread has already gathered. But I would like to say that given the topic, this is one of the best titled threads I've come across. Well played sir!
Actually, I do have a question now that I think on it. Would the availibility of veteran awards change what you guys might recommend? Say that someone (like me!) has all the vet awards up to Reveal. This gives three fairly potent attacks at low levels. I usually go with Sands of Mu, Blackwand (all my characters are magic origin) and Nemesis staff. They don't get much use on my older characters, but they seem pretty darned helpful for the lowbies. Pretty much ANY character I start has a fairly decent attack chain early on.
I don't know what vet awards the OP has available, but what difference would they make, in your opinion? Might they open up some of the far less AT choices like say any of the defenders or tanks? -
No, I don't think that there is any chance at all the the Smurph would just keep the money. He's very well known around here, and he's already filthy rich. Also, since he posted about this here, there is public documentation that he is taking the money for a specific purpose. If he just keep the money, a gm could just read here, check the logs to see if got any large sums of money (and my 10,000 influence. Still waiting, Smurphy!) and see if he actually traded the bulk of it back to one of the people who responded in this thread.
He's not stupid, guys. He's not going to risk his account or his reputation around here or something he doesn't really need at all. -
Holy moley it's been a long time since I looked at the bids and selling of luck charms. Over 7000 bids? Really? When it's so easy to just run pretty any mission in AE and then roll for the lowest tier arcane salvage till you get what you need?
I'm guessing alot of those are bids from hopeful flippers. -
Ok, since I have no idea of what the thread being linked was about, I'm just going to tag this "market fun" and hope that's close enough.
So, since the whole thread poofed rather than just getting locked, I'm going to guess that someone got real creative-like in getting around the forum censor? -
I've added the dual blades/wp tag to your post, as I have with a few others. If you click on it, you'll see posts that pose a similar question. Perhaps you can gain even more insight from some of these.

Well, if you running a mission where you are getting tickets instead of drops, you will not have a chance of getting a purple. I'm not saying that this means that ticket farming still isn't worth it, but it is a factor to consider.

Awesome. PM'img you to see when we can meet up.
And if I win, I promise I will attempt to refrain from posting the lyrics to "I've got a golden ticket" in TheMarket global.
I could pay him 1 influence at a time, in ten thousand trade transactions. I mean, if he were stupid patient for that sort of thing. -
I've had problems with the forums for the past 24 hours. Yesterday they were hanging for a long time while I was trying to add tags, and today I had to try a few times to get them to load at all.
I think they got the labor day flu. -
Can I go all "Charlie and Chocoate Factory" and buy one ticket? Pointless, sure, but funny as all get out if I happen to win!
-
Yeah, that does sound like the way to go. Well, perhaps I could give it a go. Anyone want to join me for a quick experiment? We don't need eight, just a few would help. We could do it on my home server of Infinity, or I could make use a throw away character on another server.
-
Mr. Tealeaf just asked a question that stumped me. If we use our Reveal power to show the map in a mission, does it also spawn all the mobs the way old fashioned running around to paint the map does? I'm guessing no, but can't think of a way to test it.

I can't honestly say that I followed along doing all the math, Uber, but your point was clear enough. I do have a much better handle on this stuff now.
-
Thanks for the great replies, everyone. It makes much more sense now. I figured that after over 5 years in the game, I ought to have an idea of what one of the more commonly used terms around here meant!

So, I've been hanging around long enough to gather that softcapping defense is a Good Thing. And I have Mid's and know how pick powers and various IO's in it. What I don't understand is what exactly are the softcapped numbers I should be aiming for.
I assume that softcapped defense or accuracy might be difference for a controller than say, a tank. The paragonwiki entry is pretty brief, but it does say that defense is 45%. So does that just mean that in mid's I should be aiming for my IO set bonuses to add up to the 45% for smashing, leathal, fire, etc etc? And how do the the IO set bonus interplay with any sheilding powers that that particular character might have? And what about accuracy, which the paragonwiki article doesn't even adress?
If anyone could point me in the direction of a good guide, or break it down using small words and easy to follow numbers, I'd really appreciate it. -
Ambitious project. Just makes me wish I could add more than two tags so that I could add the proper names of all the dark sets being added.
Edit: Hey someone(s) else stepped up to the plate. Good Jorb!
