I16 power colors? How

Why is it I can't change the color of my powers when I go to the tailor/face maker?

when I go to them I can easily see where and how to change things, but everything is grey and the game won't let me click on the circles next to the powers to change them.
Now I do realize that not all powers can be changed; but, as an example, Fire Blast is listed as a changable power. But, nothing. please help. thanks.

Also, side question, where do you get the shields?

[EDIT :: Bad wording]

Also, not all Power-sets have color customization. There are even some powers that can't be color-customized in some power sets that do have color customization.

First, what powersets?
You mention fire blast, so you should be (at least) good with that one. You can change powers individually or as a group.

(Tweaking wording)

Looking at Fire Blast, if everything's grey, you're on Original. Clicking on the green arrows left and right will cycle you through "Original," "Bright Fire," and "Dark Fire."
Bright and Dark Fire will, by default, load up something close to the original colors. (Should show orange and grey, as I'm looking at it now.) You can change the powers individually or as a group.

Individually, pick a power (say, Flares.) The colour palette will drop down on the right. As you pick powers, the power will illustrate what it looks like with those colors.

If you want them copied across all powers in the powerset, pick "Match colors across powerset" underneath the palette. You should see all the colored dots change to match the new coloring - IF "bright fire" or "dark fire" are selected above. Make sure a colored power is selected first. You can also pick across all powers - if it doesn't go to both powersets, go back to the one you want, make sure the other powerset is also set to a tintable selection (bright fire, dark fire, etc.)

You can also change them individually (which will make the listing up top list as "Custom," mixing Original, Bright Fire, and Dark Fire.)

Either way, pick the power, pick the colors, THEN pick

Well, to change the colors, you do not click on the circles next to the power. You click on the colors on the color palette that drops down after you change the power away from "Original".

I assume you mean the new Shield Defense powerset that was introduced an issue or two ago. It's available to Scrappers, Tankers and Brutes, though not combatible with all powersets for animation reasons. (specifically; Dual Blades, Katana, Spines and Claws)

I'm having a bug where I am unable to see the powers that my fire/kin is "excuting" when I go to the power color selection screen. I can change the colors, just not preview them or see the orginal color. I was able to play around with her colors on test, I believe.

I /bugged it.

Do you have the "Suppress Close FX" option turned on? If so, try turning it off and see if that helps.

Ran into something similar during open beta, but it was near the end of the beta cycle and it would sometimes fix itself once you were in the game, so the same issue probably exists in live.

Hmm, I have no idea if I have that or not. I will check into that the next time I have a chance to log on, probably tomorrow night after work. Thanks for the idea, and I will report back!

None of the Epic ATs hero- or villain-side can change colors. Yet. I thik they're working to add this eventually.

Thank you, MTS. You found the problem. I'm now happily spewing blue fire just like I ought to be!
