  1. I've only recently tried MM's. Started off with a Ninja/Pain MM, then I discovered this one. Hoe-lee car-hap! What a great build, and such fun to play! I solo, mostly, with the very, very occasional team mission, and I'm enjoying this build, either way. Thanks for posting it!
  2. Just spent the last day, off and on, going through this. Some really great comments!

    For my two bits:

Do not call someone an (insert appropriate insult here) because they have a build you think is poorly done or has powers you think are useless. There may be a reason other than inexperience.

A lot of the times, I select powers based not on what will maximize my capabilities, but on what is appropriate for the character concept. For me, concept is everything.

I've tried designing characters around what some consider highly effective builds, and I usually wind up dumping them. Why? While I'm not one who role-plays in game (I love role-playing, but just can't get into it online), I'm much happier with a character that follows a concept than one that has powers just because.

It's become increasingly difficult to find the 30/60 day time cards in Canada.

I know what you mean. No one where I live carries them anymore. EB Games, Future Shop, etc = no joy. Three cheers for my prepaid Mastercard.

I'm going to use emotes on my hotkeys to add visual sounds to my characters manually.

FREEM shall be mine! (and mine alone...)

Nah, share. Start an SG where everyone uses a FREEM bind.

You could call yourselves the FREEM-masons...

*waits for people to start throwing things*
  5. In my defence, I didn't read this until well after AFD, so...

    Wait...

I didn't look at the date it was posted, so that's not much of a defence.

You may all point and laugh, now.
  6. Glad you're all enjoying it.
  7. This is a short story I originally posted on Ficlets.com. Someone had come up with the idea of posting a superhero's obituary, and a bunch of us started running with the idea. Here's my contribution, for all my CoX compatriots. Enjoy!

Vancouver, BC – Superhero Ressurec-Ted (aka Ted Wilson) has died. Again.

He was found floating, face down, in a bathtub filled with Mountain Dew early Saturday morning. Police do not suspect foul play, but believe it was yet another successful suicide attempt. Police will have more information when he recovers some time late Tuesday afternoon.

Ressurec-Ted came into the public eye in the early 1700’s as one of the world’s first superheroes. During the course of his career fighting crime, he has been shot, stabbed, hanged, burned at the stake, drawn and quartered, crucified, blown up, thrown into a volcano, run through a woodchipper, and, now, drowned. Some psychologists suggest his unnaturally long life is the root of his severe clinical depression, having been married to the same woman, Drew the Shrew, for the last 250 years.

Ted is survived by his wife, son Darren, and 157 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday. Ted will read the eulogy.

  8. Bad news: I work that weekend.

Good news: I play at work, anyway.
  9. ROFLOL! I love that idea. Going to have to try that.
  10. I love this guide! I think it helped to make my main character's costumes look much better. Here's some (admittedly mediocre) before and after shots:

    Taumaril's main uniform:
    Before
    After

    Taumaril's alternate uniform:
    Before
    After (Front) After (Back)

Actually, her alternate costume is quickly becoming her standard. I don't know about any of you, but I like them.
