How many characters can the largest post be before you need to start a new one and does FOE track that for you?

BUNNY SUMMONING!!
...You know you'd play it!
[/ QUOTE ]
Geez.
And I thought that Thugs MMs with Gang War could get a lot of pets.
[/ QUOTE ]
It initially summons only two bunnies but after the 'getting it on' upgrade they just start spawning new bunnies every few minutes. -
[ QUOTE ]
OK, It just seems odd that this would be the only Purple Set that does not work when you are Exemplared.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not really sure what its exemplar limitations are exactly. I think its meant mainly that it didnt work in pets that spawn lower than the caster (fire imps).
Does it still work for even level pets when exemplared down is a question perhaps someone else can answer. -
When an idea is this bad it deserves days of trashing.

They didn't change anything but add a note indicating how its been working.

Yeah, players should not be able to change their gender on a whim.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, they should. See above for concept reasons.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking, hopefully, that he was making a distinction between the player behind the keyboard vs. the character they play in an effort to be humorous.
There's no reason though, other than technical (which may be a deal breaker), that a players characters shouldn't be able to change gender between male, huge, or female. -

Additionally, people who can't bear to part with their level 50 could still work the streets, attack each other in PvP zones, participate in Hamidon raids, and exemplar down to participate in Task Forces.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds optional to me. Either way I think the biggest issue with what the OP said was what you said in your 2nd point. His assumptions that it would stop farming/what have ya.
Anyways, almost time to leave work
[/ QUOTE ]
It wasn't... you didn't look at this part.
[ QUOTE ]
What if, upon reaching level 50, heroes we're given one final mission -- call it an Epic Mission Type, if you want to be consistent. This mission would prevent the player from entering or selecting any other new missions. Characters who level in-mission (or TF) would obviously be allowed to finish their current tasks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Note that you dont go to a contact to get this mission your automatically given it and having it automatically has consequences.
If you choose not to complete it you're stuck with street sweeping, doing zone events, and generously (ya right) task forces.
No missions of your own though, at all, and not optional in any manner.
After all if it was optional people probably wouldn't do it and if people didn't do it then they wouldn't be forced to team with the OP. -
Plans for a new character, the Pantless Vangard, somewhat dashed by the availablity of pants.
You could still make him but it would be a personal statement at that point. -
[ QUOTE ]
So, in that vein, I propose a threadjacking. Now that farming has gotten so out of hand that it must be stopped by any means possible (even ones that don't make sense), let's come up with further inane ways of preventing farming.
[/ QUOTE ]
We'll if people farm because they want stuff then if we give them everything they wouldn't farm so it logically follows the solution is to:
* Make everyone character level 50 on creation.
* Give them all badges and temp powers.
* Unlock all previously locked costume pieces.
* Make all enhancements available for purchase from any vendor for free.
Now everyones free to team with the OP, problem solved. -

I have no idea what twitter is. I saw a video of some girl doing the "twitter dance" on Youtube so she could get shown on the Ellen Degeneres tv show. I thought that was a fail right there and never looked back. Is it like... myspace/facebook or something? I'm not really sure what else it could be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Twitter allows you to broadcast short little (150 character messages) to all the people who are interested in following you. So where ICQ would be more for one on one back and forths this is just like a general shout out.
Its so you can tweet about how your day is going and all your friends get the update.
Going to Taco Hell, brb.
Oh I shouldn't have had that.
Bio break.
Ha, guess where I'm twitting from?
The pain, the pain!
That kind of thing. -
[ QUOTE ]
How in heaven's name did this even come about? What possible worth could taking people's 50s away from them serve, other than to irritate? I mean, sure, if people want to give up their 50s and say they ascended, good for them. Let them. Why take MY stuff?
[/ QUOTE ]
The OP has stated in another thread that the only reason he can't find people to team with is because they're all SK'd to 50's who are farming. The obvious solution in his mind is to delete everyone elses 50's. That way people will finally play with him.
That's some truly interesting entitlement issues in my opinion. -
The OP's has a strange idea of how people actually play there 50's.
Who, besides Amish_Justice, knew I should have been playing a single mission over and over with them (never done that).
Evidently I've been doing it wrong by breaking them to explore new content, run new AE missions, etc.
My bad. -

I admit I have a bit of a taco bell addiction.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are there no Del Taco's in your area?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, all we have aree Taco Bell or Taco Gringo. We did have a tiny little taco place open up on main street not to long ago. My wife wants to try it but I'm a bit scared by it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I had to go find a Taco Gringo website since I'd never heard of them. Looked at there food and all I have to say is bleck. -

If someone offered you $5,000 for your level 50, would you really reject them? How bout $50,000? Don't tell me there's nothing which would encourage you to do this...cause if that's the case you're not thinking straight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Let's change it to this...
[ QUOTE ]
If someone offered you $5,000 to sleep with the worlds most repulsive man (500 pounds, oozing sores, lazy eye, body oder, webbed feet, cleft palet, six fingers on the right hand, four on the left, dutch), would you really reject them? How bout $50,000? Don't tell me there's nothing which would encourage you to do this...cause if that's the case you're not thinking straight.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I mean this as more than a throw away joke or frivilous statement.
The rewording of your own statement is intended to hilight a few points, specifically how the original statement sounded; insane would be my take.
And the other point is that the increase of prices (reward) does nothing actually to make the original thing being offered more desirable in itself.
Some might take up the offer at a great enough price point but never because what they are getting is something anyone would actually want. -

What flavor is puce jello?

Reddish-brown... with just a hint of lime. -
Anyone who brings up freedom of speech on an internet forum just might be suffering from some condition that could be treated with the proper medications.

Suddenly everything you've said makes sense.
Not in an I agree with you way, because I don't. But more in a "I understand why you're being so ..." well you get the idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about you actually answer the question? -
<QR>
As for only adding "flavor" do tell me what the correct flavor for my mutant origin robot is.
Take your time. -
[ QUOTE ]
If you do the work to create origin flavored powers then make them available to everyone then what was the point in making them at all?
[/ QUOTE ]
Whats the point of making origin specific custom packs and letting anyone buy them?
How is the game made BETTER by having less choice?
Just because you wrongly believe origin should mean something? It does - its a characters origin - it has role playing and story relevance.
ANYTHING you add to it as a mechanic lessens its existing value.
[ QUOTE ]
You say I don't get it, I say it's obvious that you don't get it and you're not even trying to, you're stuck on this notion that nothing could possibly work when tied to an origin. Then why even pick an origin at all, lets just remove them from the game entirely because obviously they serve no purpose and you're not interested in having them serve one.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd be more happy with removing them then restricting them but I guess you just dont get it.
[ QUOTE ]
Great concept is important, I imagine thats why you picked the powers you picked, not for their effects but for their concept. So you'd pick origin for the same reason and live with the consequences.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is exactly what would make it wrong. By tieing consequences to origin one would be either more likely to pick origin based on mechanics or be penalized because they refused to. Now origin just isn't a choice anymore and it actually becomes meaningless in defining the character.
Sadly you wont understand that either.
[ QUOTE ]
You're over reacting. A lot.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is an issue on which I feel there can be no compromise. Either origins mean nothing in terms in game mechanics and I can choose the one I want or they mean something and I can't.
It's as simple as this, You want to strip me of my ability to choose the origins I actually want for my characters.
It's not something I'm likely to change my mind about. -
[ QUOTE ]
Why is it a bad idea to have origin based power pools available? Besides you wanting to be able to have everything?
I've said it once and i'll say it again, by your logic I shouldn't be limited to only choosing blast powers for my blaster. Whats the difference between my Blaster not being able to take Katana Melee and your tech guy not being able to use Mutant origin powers? Personally I don't see a difference and I don't see why anyone would be opposed to this.
Fact of the matter is Origins need to have a point because at the moment they don't. Origin powers and origin missions taht are available only to those origins are not a abd thing by any means. In fact they would greatly improve the game by adding a new flavor to what is at the moment an overlooked aspect of the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
You just don't get it when I picked my origin and primary and secondary powers I already have in mind exactly how those power sets fit with my origin. In short - they work.
Then you come along years later and say - hey we made 5 new power pools - but you don't get to pick. Instead you can either have or not have just this one.
What? The powers in them and the look of them don't match your concept? Tough [censored] you.
Your telling me thats better than letting a person PICK there pool just so you personally can feel origins have a point.
Some of us don't want or need Origin to have a point. Any 'point' you can possible give it is just imposing concept limitations in totally frivilous manners for no purpose what so ever.
No thanks. Might as well limit all Mutant Origin people to animal part custom pieces, and all Science types to the lab coat custome. Or that Natural Origin people can't pick a Travel power.
If you've done the work to create origin flavored pools, then let them be picked by those that want them, as appropriate to their characters. -
I support origin based missions and origin flavored content (costume pieces, eventual hypothetical power customization, etc) that can be selected by anyone even if they aren't of that origin.
Anything the slighest bit restrictive when it comes to origin though I'll oppose vocally as both uncessary and just a bad idea. -
I just imagine all the thugs I arrest getting some slick lawyers and suing me for false arrest, battery, pain and suffering.
The injuries I cause in one mission alone could keep a lawyer set for life.
