  1. In Bruges changed my opinion of him as an actor.
  2. G4tv is going to be showing this series later in the year. After Iron Man and Wolverine (of which quite a few around here said weren't very good) appear in July / August. They're also suppossed to show the Blade series.

Each will have a 12 ep. arc. Based on what I've seen in the linked eps (I didn't want to watch them all) I'll be definitely waiting for them to air. I still plan on viewing the Iron Man and Wolverine shows though.
  3. Thanks for beginning the thread TR. Here are several ideas that I've and others have brought up before.

    Fire Melee:
All attacks should have an alternate animation involving a sword, and a non-sword animation.
Different sword types besides the scimitar and greater fire sword. Examples would include Katana, Gladius, etc...

    Dark Melee:
Siphon Life: an actual attack animation that looks like your punching.
Alternate martial arts style animations for each of the attacks that include strikes and kicks. Barring Soul Drain and Dark Consumption although martial arts style stances or kata-like movements for these would be great.

    Ice Melee:
Sword and non-sword animations for each attack. Different sword types should be made availabe.

    Stone Melee:
Different mallets / hammers for each attack. Stone covered fist animations using different punches for each power.

Blast attacks: the current assault animations are beyond over-used. Some more assault animations that are actually different would be great to really give the assault set some variation.

Magic-cast style blast animations: rather like the demon summoning powers from Master Minds where arcane runes are cast into the air from which the blast then occurs.

Of course I'll end with the obligatory request for PPP/EPP and PP customizations please.
  4. I ditto much of what's been said already.
New engine is a must. Animated hair. Seperate fingers, real looking bare feet. A way to seperate costume parts for each major part of the body, and from left and right sides. So, one could customize a neck option, left shoulder from right shoulder, two different gloves, etc...

I would break the body type into male and female then have a scale that could take either into the Huge model proportions, as well give both a muscle tone slider. Customizable tatoos and scars. Customizable skin types, for example normal skin, metallic skin, earth skin, reptile, and so one. These skins would be the base skin for the rest of the character to which other costume parts could be chosen.

No more experience points as a levelling metric. Instead, points (whether you want to call it experience or improvement points) are earned based upon completed objectives. These are then spent however the player chooses. Like Arcana outlined earlier, powers could be broadened, or deepened. However, I would also make sure their is a weighted system were as one increases their defensive capabilities such as hit points, resistance, etc... their damage would be more difficult to increase. Raise damage higher, it becomes more difficult to increase other abilities.

Character levels vs. npc enemy levels would be determined via a new character trait called Reputation. A new hero would have no reputation, as they took out small local gang thugs their low rep would earn them improvement points. But as they gained improvement points, their repuation would increase and more would be expected of the hero to the point where eventually, taking out the same gang wouldn't garner much for the hero, but taking on the Crey Corporation would.

Remove most of the contacts in the game. Missions should be gained like tips but set for each faction. Stop a Skull from breaking into a car and you get him to blab about a group of Skulls about to rob a jewerly store. Stop them and find a clue that they managed to get some superdyne from someone else. Follow that lead and the story continues.

Another thing I would change is Inf. I would change it to a new system called Resource. Resource is earned by spending improvement points. The more Resource you have the better base you can have, weapons you can make, etc... Of course these things tend to use up your Resource statistic as well.

I would remove all in game references to the origins of a character's powers, as well as archetypes.

    Death penalty

Hmm...looked at the original list, and read every post thus far. My conclusion: screw all that.

Give me a buff when I die! Blasters get their death buff doubled!

Jumps into mob, goes down in a hail of gun fire.
    Character: "Defeat me? DEFEAT ME!?!"
Hits wakie, and procedes to pound the enemy to dust.
    "Muahahahaha!"
  6. Down Periscope and Rocketman I can see. Heck I should have put Down Periscope on my list
But, Spaceballs? That's a hard sell, even if many Mel fans see that as the decline of his game, it's still great fun. Heck, I don't think it's any bold statement to say that no Mel Brook's film belongs on a guilty pleasure list. Opinions may vary on Dracula Dead and Loving it, I just happen to know quite a few people that adore it.

I place Kuffs on my guildty pleasures list simply because practically everyone I know thinks its terribly cheesey and fairly generic in type. That's why I love it though, hence the guilty pleasure.

Just looking at review sites, it's pretty much a middle of the road film as far as people voting is concerned.

I love Pump Up the Volume too, though I know many of my generation that totally dig the film too, hence it's not on my list.

I could place Legally Blonde, but not because of the film's performance in any way. Its just that it's something that no one that know's me besides my wife would ever guess that I'd watch much less like it. Even though my wife is still surprised at just how much that movie continues to amuse me to this day. I didn't include it before because I know that it's a movie that many people enjoy though.
  8. Kuffs
    Adventures of Ford Fairlane
    Starship Troopers
    Ice Pirates
  9. So after a bit of finagling, I've managed to get enough funds to purchase this wonderful collection. It arrived in the mail today and just by flipping through, it looks stunning. I can't wait to finish my current volume of Conan the Barbarian comics and bump this mjolnir's weight in paper to the top of my reading list.
  10. I remember reading some of the issues during this run, particularly when Beta Ray came along. Sadly I don't have any of those old issues and now don't have the funds to buy the omnibus.
  11. Great vid! Reminds me of a friend, when talking to his 6 year old son about Star Wars for the theme of his birthday party. His son said that he wanted to be part of the Dark Side. The Dad while laughing internally, really wanted his son to understand the difference between good and bad and was hoping that his son would choose Jedi.

After a brief talk his son's answer, "yeah but the guys on the dark side look cooler and they have cooler weapons!"
  12. Grave Hand - dm / invuln scrapper - main.

Fishbone - fish / aquatic themed spines /da scrapper

Tso Tsumi - tsoo themed mind / energy assault dom - name given on this forum by helpful players.

Triggermortis - steampunk themed dp / dark miasma corruptor

Dead Pan - a homage of the Joker twisted with Dead Pool electric melee / ninjitsu stalker

Samantha Heinous - halloween themed demon summoning / thermal mm
  13. Just logged on and noticed that all my vet slots that were available are now gone. It's because the on-line store appears to be off-line. Whenever that happens, additional character slots end up locked. If you delete characters that are on additional slots, the slot will lock out too.

Once the store comes back up, the character slots should reappear as well. If they don't that's when it's time to contact CS or a community rep.
  14. My just-a-couple-of-percent-shy-of-soft-cap-to-s/l scrapper got dropped by her several times. I was shocked the first time it happened as it's very uncommon to see him go down (unless from psi damage).

But I didn't whine over the devs making a difficult encounter for me and a team of players, I took it as a challenge. Each of the melee team members went down. We ended up in kind of a weird tanking rotation. Mind you we had no defenders, and one controller with /storm and no O2 boost. We still one the day and completed the entire TF in 42 minutes with several first timers on the tf no less.

The defeats by Bobcat were the only ones I experienced the entire TF. The rest of the time I could run ahead into swarms of clockwork, solo war walkers, etc... and even stand toe-to-toe with the other AVs all solo.
  15. D'oh! I switched providers and completely forgot to set my new dvr for this show and missed it! Well, its in the queue now, and I look forward to watching this with my son next week.
  16. I don't know about the rest of the build, but ideally, you want the Force Feedback proc in an AoE power. It has a chance to fire from every foe it. However, it cannot be stacked, and somethreads have stated that if it's fired again within the duration of a previous proc effect, it'll proc, but not continue the effect beyond the original's timer, but the next proc's timer continues, but the effect doesn't. Essentially, the proc block's itself continuously.

I don't know if that's correct, but the ideal situation is to then use the proc in an AoE that would have to be applied every 10 seconds if you're counting on the proc for its recharge speed for the rest of your build.
  17. I figured it must have taken a couple of hours to pull off. It's still quite a feat, particularly for a powerset combo that's you see quite often referred to as not having too much synergy.

Well I'm sold. I haven't levelled any controllers in a while and I was considering a ill / rad or a fire / storm when I get around to playing another one. Now I'm thinking it'll be elec / cold I'm not expecting to be teh awesome with it but I'm betting it could end up being quite fun.
  18. I have to admit, my low level mind / en dom is quite fun. Even at the very beginning, at level 2, taking on pairs is nice. Sleep one target from range. The other turns, blast him, close in, Bone Smash, blast and he's done. Re-sleep the first target, blast, and done.

Against single target foes that are +1 it was really funny. That Skull is just minding his own business, leaning against the wall. Maybe he's staking the joint out for a heist later. It doesn't matter.

Oh, look at that he's gone and dozed off. Let's wake him up. Oh now he's crabby and running after me, maybe he should've slept longer. Eitherway he needs to get out of my face, and I don't like his mask, let's break it. Oh wow, now he's stumbling around in circles, poor tired guy, I'll just let him get back to sleep. Now that's cute, he's drooling. Ok actually that's kind of messy, let's wake him up again. Uh oh he's down for the count.
  19. I was literally laughing out loud. Great vid, thanks for posting that.

Ok something I noticed about this image, its not the same as the one in the first post. In the first post, both arms match, which appears to be the Stealth chest, under the sleeveless retro jacket.

In this picture, the arms are different. The left appears to be one of the robotic arms, while the right is still Stealth. Looking in the costume creator, its definetely not the stealth armor on the left arm as int he screen shot. It is banded robotic arm. However, you can only choose a robotic arm which defaults to the right arm.

Something just isn't right with either of those shots. I'm guessing that both versions of this character are from internal testing, and therefore, possibly there are more costume creation options available, such as having a robot left arm while wearing a sleeveless jacket.

I'm also unvonvinced that the gloves are the same from the first screen shot to to the one above and that the color change is due to power effects. The band of black is simply too clean and I've never seen a power effect cause a color change like that happen to me in game. Particularly, from such a solid dark red to bright gold with a black band no less.
  21. I don't care what anyone else may say, that's quite impressive.

Though you cheated with the Heavy Not that I have any characters that could solo Lusca with an entire team of temp pets (but that's beside the point) [This is all tongue in cheek]
  22. D'oh, I forgot about the Resistance pants. *edit* I checked the CC, and while the Resistance Pants is the closes match, I can't replicate the black bordered white stripe in the screen shot, by other just choosing black or white as the second color option for the piece with no pattern, or using Thin Stripes 2 option either.

I checked the gloves though, and the Rough Leather option was the first one I went too. While its close, the screen shot doesn't really match that option. First, the gloves in the pic are too shiny (I run with ultra settings), and second, I checked the pose and the stitching should be perfectly visiable along the top of the forearm and around the wrist, but its not in the pic. It could be some type of aberation of the screen shot though, with the effects going off, causing the stick to disappear under the glare which causes the shine effect on the gloves, but I can't recreate it in the costume creator.
  23. I Daredevil on opening weekend. I hated it. While Afleck did well as Murdock, it was his action sequences that made me groan. I could literally count the beats to his "martial arts" choreography.

I don't know if the writers / director were trying to pay homage to some of their other favorite dark hero films, like the Crow, but certain scenes like the flaming double D's felt more like a rip off than a homage. There were several other scenes that did this with other films.

I didn't buy into the entire self-trained martial artist / acrobat portion of his origin. I could understand teaching himself to see with his enhanced senses, but not the physical skills to the degree that he had obtained.

Bullseye was way over the top to the point were it was comical (no pun intended). I don't know who's to blame, the actor, writer, director or all three, but it was wrong. I also think that he should have been the main villain and the Kingpin (while I liked MCD as the character), should have stayed int he background. Fisk should have been portrayed as an upstanding businessman and positive community figure, they could have played with the race change as part of that role so much more. The character of the Kingpin should have not been revealed to be Fisk (even if fans knew) untilt he very end, and even then without the fight betweent he two, leaving the possiblity of a sequel open.

I think that this remake / reboot is more of an attempt by Fox to keep the movie rights to the character, while still hoping for a decent rate of return in profit. The Marvel studio has been doing such a good job with their films thus far, that I was hoping that DD would make it back under their control. One can always hope that Fox isn't going to rush this project just to keep the rights and that a better-than-the-original-attempt occurs.

I see it too. There is a thin black trim at the top of the gloves on the forearm. I'm unable to replicate that in the current costume creator.

The chest appears to be stealth. Pants are baggy, but the only strip pattern that matches is a solid color. That stripe on the pants is two-colored, which can't be done so it must be a new stripe, but I would guess that only one of those two parts of it are able to be colored.

Ever since the enhancement window was modified to show another (7th) possible slot in powers,
I thought that this was found to be just a side effect of changing to UI to scale with higher resolutions. At really high screen res, it could appear that there's room for several additional slots, but at the bottom of the res scale, the enhancement UI appears full.

I know this idea is totally overpowered, but I think it'd be really fun if the AT inherent powers could be crafted. Blasters with Scrapper crits! Tanks with Troller containment! Blasters with MM /bodyguard where the rest of the team acts as the Defender's pets muahahaha!
