  1. Clockwork are notoriously vulnerable to knockback. Knockdown, which is really just very low magnitude knockback, will end up tossing Clockwork away even if a power is supposed to do only do knockdown.
  2. Like a lot of people, I'm giving TW a try. But in the build that I have planned, I have to drop two powers from Titan Weapons. In your opinion, what's considered skippable? I will most likely drop Taunt and just make a second build with Taunt for when it's needed (AVs, etc.). But all of the other powers look pretty tempting, so I'm not sure what else to get rid of.
  3. Can Enhancement Boosters be used on SBEs?
  4. Just curious, is anyone trying out any of the new Interfaces? I pretty much take Reactive on all of my Incarnates, but all of the new options have DoTs included which is quite nice. I doubt any of them are competitive with Reactive (since it also has -RES), but I might experiment anyway. Preemptive (Endurance DoT & Energy DoT), in particular, looks tempting for my Ice Tanker.
  5. I use Quicksand in much the same way you described. On my Dark/Stone/Earth Tanker, it's especially useful to help keep stunned mobs from wandering too far off.

I've seen other Tankers who've taken both Salt Crystals and Quicksand to use as fight openers, with an extra bonus if you're a Tanker without a damage aura to ruin the sleep effect. Why Salt Crystals too, you ask? It has a HUGE radius (30'), animates fast (1.07s), and is excellent for grabbing initial aggro. And if you like to SSK lowbies a lot but still want to play at +3 or +4, the -DEF from both Salt Crystals and Quicksand will help them still hit the bad guys.
  6. Yeah, it'd be nice if Hibernate for Tankers was exempted from the NoPhase thingy. (Or just give my Tanker the option to take Icy Bastion instead.)

I'll recommend Invul/DM/Soul. Invul, especially with Set IOs, is very durable. Perma Dull Pain (capped HP) + Siphon Life on top of Invul's RES/DEF and DM's/Soul's -ToHit, will make you pretty much unkillable. (And this is all before adding Incarnate stuff to your toon.)

    Stun master?

Because of this thread, my next Tanker is going to be Dark/Stone/Mu. I've always wanted a Tanktroller and Fault + Oppressive Gloom + Electrifying Fences sounds very appealing. But to be honest, I may be too lazy to go villainside so I might have to settle for Dark/Stone/Earth instead. Fault + Stalagmites + Oppressive Gloom, and then Quicksand which will hopefully prevent too much wandering from the stunned mobs.

So long as you're at the DEF softcap and the mobs you're fighting don't have additional +ToHit from buffs, then the -ToHit from Diamagnetic Interface isn't necessary.

The Level Shift from your T3/T4 Alpha Slot works for all game content provided you don't exemplar down lower than level 45. The Level Shifts from your T3/T4 Destiny and Lore are only applicable during Incarnate Trial content.
  11. If you are hellbent on doing +4/x8 AE ambush farms with your Elec/SD Scrapper, here are a few suggestions that may help you out:

    1. Find an AE S/L ambush farm with mobs that do not rez.
    2. Get your Alpha Slot to T3 ASAP for the +1 Level Shift. (I noticed that the lvl 53 minion you have targetted is conning red. If you were level shifted, it'd only be orange.)
    3. The Radial branch of Reactive Interface will help you kill faster because of the chance for fire DoT.
    4. Get something slotted in Destiny too. I believe you'd benefit the most from Rebirth if you can keep your S/L RES capped with orange inspirations.
    5. Look into inspiration-combining keybinds to keep yourself stocked up on orange inspirations.

For one thing, don't bother farming rezzing enemies. You get zilch, zero, nada reward on their second defeat. And it sounds like the mobs you're fighting may be using Resurgence when they rez which gives a +21% ToHit and +28% DMG boost, which may explain why they're cutting through your DEF like a hot knife through butter.

    Icy Bastion...

My Ice Tanker is jealous. I'd trade Hibernate for Icy Bastion in a heartbeat.

    Farming Dom?

I'll recommend Fire/Psi/Fire. I've got one that I occasionally use to farm/PL with. It can comfortably handle +4/x6 spawns on a Battle Maiden-style map. With Fire Imps, Hot Feet, Flashfire, Fire Cages, Drain Psyche, Psychic Shockwave, Fire Ball, and Rain of Fire, you are a one-man wrecking machine.

    Tanker Tuesday?

Not yet, but it's in the works. I believe there's been mention of running an all-Tanker team the second Saturday of every month. And NuclearMedicine recently formed a TankHQ supergroup on Exalted for any TT Tankers needing a home here.
  17. Yep, if anyone needs a sg-invite, just drop me a line.

Lol, that's awesome. Although how much danger can he get into being inside Pocket D? Hungry dancing catgirls perhaps? :-x
  19. One of the first things that I do with any new alt that I create is take a quick trip to Pocket D to visit Null. Love that bird. <3
  20. Rule #1: Always wear clothes while you're playing CoH/V, especially if you're in public.
Rule #2: Rule #1 is optional.
  21. On my Tanker, I went with the Seers Radial Superior Ally. The untouchable Seeker Essence lasts for 5 minutes (with a 10 minute recharge time), perma-buffs you with Fortitude, and can heal you wtih Soothe Mind. I haven't tried the Storm Elementals yet because the scatter caused by the Monsoon's Hurricane would drive me nuts. I want mobs packed tightly together for (PB)AoE'ing.

Did you global mail yourself a bunch of orange inspirations as a reserve?
  23. Happened to me too. Logged in on a level 50 toon and was immediately throttled before I even did a single thing. I think MARTy is getting triggered by the xp bar animation (getting filled up) that happens when you first log in. Very annoying.

    ???/energy aura

Does the Scrapper version of Entropic Aura have a taunt component? I was pretty sure that the answer to this was no, but in the official patch notes it lists Brutes and Scrappers as both having taunt added to their respective Entropic Auras.

    Quote:
    Entropy Shield (Brute & Scrapper)
This power has been redesigned to be a taunt aura that will enhance the user's recharge for each target in melee up to 10 targets and will reduce the recharge of nearby foes.

    Renamed to Entropic Aura

    Added Taunt Aura

Now will boost the user's recharge rate by a moderate amount for the first target in close range with the user and a small amount for up to 10 targets.

All foes affected by this power will have their recharge reduced slightly.
  25. 1. Tanker - Tons of fun soloing +4/x8 spawns.
    2. Brute - Not as tough as a Tanker but dishes out damage faster.
    3. Arachnos Widow - Versatile.
    4. Arachnos Soldier - Ditto.
    5. Scrapper - Fun but not as survivable as a Tanker.
    6. Dominator - Mez + damage = win.
    7. Corruptor - Buffs/debuffs + damage = win.
    8. Controller - Fun to play on teams.
    9. Blaster - Ditto.
    10. Defender - Multiple Defenders = win.
    11. Stalker - Playstyle is kind of boring.
    12. Warshade - Don't like all the form shifting.
    13. Peacebringer - Ditto.
    14. Mastermind - Too much micromanagement.
