Quote:In that context, it would certainly inspire Tankers to take a more offensive approach early on. Given I have Dedicitis (I have basically one character that I play on ALL THE TIME), but when I occasionally try my hand at designing a new Tanker in Mids' (and play for about 3 hours before I lose interest) I give survivability optimum priority, sometimes relying on the Tier 1 attack well past level 10 (thank goodness for brawl and vet powers).Fair enough but adding an endurance transfer effect to Gauntlet still seems like an elegant fix to both the tanker endurance issues and the utility of Gauntlet at all levels.

Your perspective and design philosophy may vary, but the reason I do this is because adding more attacks at those levels for better-sustained attack chains seems pointless since the fairly unnoticed benefit of Training enhancements for Endurance Reduction (or anything for that matter) and the lack of Stamina make for some serious downtime and drawn-out battles unless one of your power sets has an endurance management tool built in.
Again, not a critical problem but just trying to underline the possible benefits of Gauntlet as an endurance tool. -
Quote:I'd almost put down money that moving tails will be in Super Booster V.When the Cyborg booster came out, we did not yet know they were going to do origin based boosters. Then they did magic pack, and a redname said 'Hmm, cyborg, magic, maybe the other origins will be next?' - I'm paraphrasing, but the Devs absolutely consider CYBORG pack an origin-based pack. Ergo, the Ninja pack has a very high probability of being the Natural booster.
Edit: I also remember an interview with someone (Posi?) in which someone begged for animal heads and tails, and that redname said "Hmm, sounds like a mutant booster to me!" - Now, whether or not the mutant booster had already been started, or whether or not animal features will be in the mutant booster, I don't know. But a redname said it, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Quote:I replied to the confirmation email. I haven't gotten an automated response yet (there should be one, shouldn't there?) so I figure I'll toss in an ingame petition as well. I reckon I messed up worse than you, actually applying it to my long-dormant US account.
My experience with NCSoft support is good. I hope it will be sorted soon.
Quote:By the way, I think the frat-boy section of the playerbase will have their disappointment at the /e teabag emote more than made up for by /e pushup.
It's a cool emote - but I can't help thinking it's going to be used in all the wrong ways. -
Quote:The same way my launch character mysteriously obtained a new attack power when they released the origin-specific attacks years later. How exactly does a level 50 get the walk power? Been trying my damnedest to figure it out. *3 year idiot question*
To be honest, I haven't tried walking yet. I just heard about it tonight - but I'm so excited! I can't wait to get back home after work and try it out. Alas, I'm busy for the next two evenings so completing missions without due haste shall have to wait until the weekend. -
I just wanted to add...
WALKING IS AWESOME!!!
Ok, I've said my peace.
I do want to see moving objects like cars and blimps to be objects you can actually land on. Drop Ship raids would be so much more viable...
Oh, and I would like my Super Strength Tanker to have grappling.I would give up my long-cherished Energy Mastery ancillary pool for a Grappling ancillary pool.

Powers
- Walk Power - All characters will now have access to a new inherent power -- Walk! This toggle power enables characters to move at a comfortable walking pace.
- The “Walk” power is an Inherent toggle power given to all characters at Level 2.
- Please Note that powers or jumping (i.e. pressing the Space Bar) cannot be used while walking.
- This power is not intended for use in combat.
I have been waiting YEARS for this! (Checks to make sure it's not April 4th...)
My enemies will now dread my unhurried approach! -
Wait, they're finally adding walking?
...God, I need to get back in the zone. -
I won't be able to make it this week even though I had it on the calendar - got some graphic design work to wrap up and submit tonight.
Hopefully I can make it next week though. -
Quote:Granted, but it happens several years prior to today. I always wondered who was responsible for triggering that 2004 Rularuu Invasion Event. Way to go, Docam...Granted: But it cannot technically be granted according to the laws of the universe. Therefore, by granting, I will have killed it and it can't be rezzed. But by granting it, I've made it rezzed. Making it almost impossible to corrupt!. So by being impossible to corrupt, it is never granted. Yadda, yadda, yadda. You get the point. Paradoxes cumulate quickly and space time is destroyed throwing our universe into the dinosaur age in the seventh dimension.
I wish Rularuu would invade our dimension already.
Blasted night shift. I wish I didn't need to sleep 8 hours of daylight away five times a week. -
Granted, but the fields cover the span of the entire zone.
I wish there were more Super Robot games out there. -
One of these days I'll remember to actually log on during Tuesdays.
This sounds like a lot of fun. I hate that I keep missing it.
-
Granted. But now the more people you have on your team, the more your accuracy diminishes. Severely.
I wish BaBs would make an "Eat Cake" emote. -
Quote:Yeah, that seriously bites Chloe.Yea, I got the sads after the costume contest. I'm probably going to leave some feedback for them in the official feedback thread once I find a nice way to tell them how I feel about wasting over $100 on fabric and hours of my time, when I could have just went to Party City and bought something and won.
I particularly liked several of the non-winning entries.

Quote:Yes, you most certainly can!I can play Quarters. o.O
Whoever gave me the Vahzilok Wasting Disease (aka the HeroCon flu) needs to gtfo. I mean, I forgive you for coming to the convention sick and all, but seriously, gtfo.We learned that right after we found out I'm actually a Ninja who's good at hopscotch.
As for suffering the status ailment - you should have rolled a Tanker. Or a Scrapper. Or heck, any archetype with Status Protection!...Ok, truthfully - god only knows how I avoided it since I was hanging with most of the same people as you through the weekend. But I agree - gtfo! Yar!
-
Granted. But to do so, they had to hire Jack Emmert back and Tanks are designed to act like Taunt Bots from this day forward once again. Other Archetypes will be retrofitted to match their board game class equivalents appropriately next issue.
God, that was low of me. I wish I hadn't said that. -
I think a +Recharge component based on team health would be an interesting touch in any case. The times I've died with a Defender on the team were usually addressed as an issue that their heal/s had not yet recharged.

Thank you for setting up the festivities this weekend Ice.

Thank you for the insight and counter-points, Serrate.
Admittedly I'm not an authority on the inherit or how it operates but I did my best to consolidate everything I could remember hearing at some time or another regarding Gauntlet. Thanks for providing clarity on my errors (expecially on point #2).
Regarding counterpoint #5 - I'm not sure if that was an accurate example, but to build on it I would like to state that unless you've got a Tanker primary that's real strong out of the box (ie. Willpower or other second-generation sets) I think that 4.5 seconds of gauntlet still matters quite a bit, expecially since you're talking about just one attack generating that kind of long-lasting threat. I imagine that the average player can launch between 2-3 attacks in that time (Brawl and the first secondary set power at the very least). But as you pointed out, I don't see it as a gigantic issue since most folks get into their mid-teens really quickly. However, my stance is that it's the many little things which can drag something down rather than a singular massive flaw. I feel it's still a debatable concern, albiet minor.
Also, regarding #4 - I must admit I'm not terribly concerned with a lack of enhanced survivability through the inherit. But it does seem like a pretty good place to somehow work out the issues with Tankers being the least endurance-efficient archetype. -

I definitely need to get into the PvP tourny scene, but since I13 I hear things have been rather slow.
Regardless, I'd love to sign on for this. -
This is going to be wicked.
By the way, I was wondering about how the team PvP matches were going to be laid out: what are the team sizes (ie. Are we doing full 8vs8) and are the members assigned at random or can we sign-up with pre-designed teams? -
I got home earlier this afternoon. I'm at work right now but things are slow so I'm catching up with the post-HeroCon postings.
