  1. Thank you all for the kind words ^^

We're being swamped at work so I only managed to do a few so far >_<U

    05 - Lem again
    06 - Lem as well?
    07 - Randomness + imps
08 - Watching too much Air gear...
    09 - More randomness..
    10 - More Randomness...
11 - Anime Con Maskot conceptual
    12 - Anime Con Mascot conceptual 2

Mostly doodles this time - which I love to do^^ . I'll try and put more time in them for the next batch...
  2. Amazing amount of detail O_O;

Very nice Dove, keep 'em coming.
  3. I couldn't really tell you..

I did Lem while doing the SStf 3 waiting to be tp'd around since I had SJ on that toon. A bit here and there.
But my guess is about 20 to 30 mins approx.

    Thanks for the comments ^^
Glad you like the Cass sketches Hoplite
  4. I figured it would be easier if we each had our own thread to keep track of the 50 pics for Blackdove's Artist challenge - Nanowrimo in pictures.

As crazy as 50 pics sounds, I salute Blackdove for coming up with this endeavour...

    So here goes nothing...

    01 - Lem (my current Fire/Kin toon)
    02 - Hoplite's Cass conceptual
    03 - Hoplite's Cass conceptual
    04 - Hoplite's Cass conceptual
  5. "Nerf bat Inc."

    Very good!
    You're on a roll!
  6. That's the funny thing. As soon as there is a time limit or it becomes quantity over quality, in my opinion, it becomes less enjoyable.
Regardless, I'm in as well. ^^
  7. 50 pictures for the whole month? of November?

    Do doodles count?
  8. Damn, link was all messed up..

    Fixed now.

    Conceptart.org is a great site.
  9. Not problem.

Again, I was in a rush this morning and ended up taking a taxi to work.
  10. Ok, [censored], I'm going to be late for work but what the hey...

I will not deny/argue the differences of both programs. There was a thread about it started by Mother not so long ago. And for the record, I own and use both software btw.

But in these examples you supplied, what you seem to misunderstand is that, what you're looking for isn't a tutorial on how to colour in a superhero kind of style. You're looking for a way to draw the linart.

[Bloodwork V2] follows the basic and regular painting techniques. The same type that you would learn by painting your room or still life (light sources, casted shadow etc..) In [Bloodwork V2], only the lineart is comic-like
Same goes for [Kai - Commission] which has more of a manga styled lineart.

So let me repeat this. The examples supplied follow the fundamental rules of painting. Learn those and you will be able to then modify the way you want it to suit the certain tangeant style.

Side note: This has been made with Photoshop.
So you can achieve a semi painted look on Photoshop as well.

    Start here

    Look, analyse, replicate. ^^

    Poo! Got to run.

    Coston, hope this helps

Edit: Sorry if I'm coming on strong but from my experience of people I've interacted with on forums, the overwhelming general consensus is that comics/manga/etc.. are all altered and stylized forms of reality.

Yeah well, more for the colouring, i have seen it done in painter 9.

    Link? Examples?
  12. Can you be more specific?

"A super hero/cartoon kind of style"? What? like in colouring? Or in actual drawing?

If you're looking for something ask him. He is your friend. And this is what he tells me about your description.

If you're thinking about colouring drawings like they do in comics, dude, you got the wrong program
Because it's mostly selecting areas with the lasso tool...

If you got that amazing Painter soft, then you want to paint. Find life reference picture and draw from that.

I always found that if I have a style in mind, I'll look for actual pictures and/or artists who do it and I'll look at the picture and try to replicate it my own way.
    Just a thought... ^^
  13. Ah you beat me to it, as I was half way on mine^^
Very good and I would agree on most of it since I follow the same procedures myself.

Just adding a quick note on Guide3 (out of pure pedantry. What have these boards turn me into?? ):
-The human figure is anywhere between 6-8 heads tall, depending on the individual.
    -The shoulders are 1 1/2 - 2 heads wide.
-The torso and head are as long as the legs.
-The hands fall halfway down the thighs

Yay! for tutorials! Looking forward to the next one!
  14. Ipod man roxXxes!!11 ^^

    More please!

Meant to post this up last week-end but it slip my mind.

A pencil drawing of teh Catz (who, as I witnessed while teaming with for the first time, is a very nice person ^^).

    Hope you like it

    Animation

    Not bad.

I find it a little empty.
Please avoid the "simple is best" letter drawing. It makes kitten eyes bleed. Maybe use a font that would suit the title better.
    Simple doesn't necessarily mean ugly.

I understand this is your first mini animation but I would love to see what you can really do when you put more effort in. ^^

Are you going to stay with stick figures or are you planning to try and reach for better standards? Am just curious

Patapé, on rigole )
