I've just been reading through the "Artisically Challenged" Thread and seen some good stuff in there, No don't bother moaning and going "Oh noes, My was rubbish!" Im not going to listen. So i thought what can i do to help then? Well I sat at about 11 pm last night putting my own little guide together

The Drawings may be a little bad, but thats just me Ignore the writing, that was just me trying to some editing, each thing you'll need to know is under the link provided

Guide1
Steps 1 to 4: Faces and Hands
Ok so we start with the basics, Faces. Faces are simple, just start with constructing yourself an oval, once you've done place two lines inside it like i have done. Ok next step is the primary details, Eyes, Mouth and Nose. The Eyes always lie on the horizontal line, The Nose lies just under the line crossing and the mouth is the near the chin area (As seen on my drawings). The final part is the Secondary Detail, Hair, Eyebrows and Ear(s), Ill leave that to you as its simple enough.
Now onto Hands, Hands are pretty confusing the first time you start drawing them, so i worked out a way of drawing then, using circles AGAIN! construct your main hand and the thumb (CONT...)

Guide2
Steps 5 to 7: Hands and Feet
Ok Back to hands, After you've finished constructing your simple circles its time to add the fingers and knuckles, Like i did look at your own hand and work out where your fingers are positioned, then using your circle guidelines place your fingers in.
Feet are possibly the most hated thing to draw in my opinion, So it was a first for me last night aswell <(>.&lt>!
Well the begin with use the circle (Bet your getting sick of that word). Now Step 7 always works best if you look at your own foot, yes silly maybes, but it works...Look at the area your toes are positioned and begin to outline the shape of your foot using your circle guidelines, once you've done that you can add in the nails or like i have done place a little circle near the back to show where the leg would come to.

Guide3
Step 8: The Human Anatomy
Ok this is the final step, The human anatomy, basic yes?
Well like i've drawn (really badly) You can see again i've used circles to construct most of the body, except the torso thats easy enough to draw on your own. Once you've had a good look at the anatomy (and don't giggle to yourself because i've missed out certain areas of the human anatomy you silly little children ) you should be able to begin drawing you character!

This is only The First Guide! Character Expression is yet to be made...

Ah you beat me to it, as I was half way on mine^^
Very good and I would agree on most of it since I follow the same procedures myself.

Just adding a quick note on Guide3 (out of pure pedantry. What have these boards turn me into?? ):
-The human figure is anywhere between 6-8 heads tall, depending on the individual.
-The shoulders are 1 1/2 - 2 heads wide.
-The torso and head are as long as the legs.
-The hands fall halfway down the thighs

Yay! for tutorials! Looking forward to the next one!
