Quote:Well looking at two of AMC's longer running series, Mad Men and Breaking Bad, it looks like they shoot 13 shows per season. So I wouldn't expect AMC to jump to 22 shows per season for Walking Dead.Well adapting a short graphic novel series into a TV show is probably the opposite challenge than what you have with taking a novel and squeezing it down into a TV series. They probably had to expand single panels of graphic novel content into multiple minutes worth of TV time.
Either way with 6 planned episodes for the first season it sounds like they've chosen to focus in on the key elements of the story and make something tight and fast-paced. Now since we know they are already going to do a 2nd season the proof will be in what form that will take. If they try to expand it out to a "standard" 22 episode season then I'm going to worry that they "sold out" the idea already. I guess we'll see. -
Quote:Exactly. Regardless of which villain AT someone chooses they will not like it unless they know how to play it. Playing a villain AT just like any hero AT is not going to go well. That's going to be a bad attitude to come into things with.
"The Corruptor doesnt' do as much damage as a Blaster?" Well, it doesn't have a damaging secondary, it's got a buff/debuff secondary... which is thoroughly different. (Plus Scourge on a DOT is just fun. Try Fire/Dark, rain on a tar patch... ) Playing a Dominator like a Controller will get you into trouble - it's something a lot of doms go through when they first switch over. And so forth.
Roll a few of each and try them out. -
I just wonder what kind of enormous ego it took for Jack to say "when I launched City of Heroes."
"I"?
Is he getting nuttier than when he was here? -
Pretty darn good. A little tired the last few days but so often in the last few years I've had insomnia due to bad things it is nice to be too excited about good things to sleep.
And I had one of the best made hashbrowns and Sausage Egg McMuffins at my McDonalds this morning I have ever had.
Now I am waiting to get my origin capes later today. -
Quote:You cannot use tickets to get PvP and purple recipes. With this change you could.Yes, I realize that people would find ways to maximize ticket gain, they already do after all. My question is:
How would they spend the merits that would be more profitable than the current options for tickets?
Right now you would have to generate enough AE tickets to random roll enough recipes to make over 2 billion inf. Under an exchange system you would just need to generate enough AE tickets to convert to a-merits to buy a PvP recipe for over 2 billion inf.
The inability to generate purple recipes kept some from using AE at level 50. With this suggestion there would be nothing to promote staying out of AE unless the exchange rate was something like 9999 AE tickets is 1 a-merit. -
Quote:And/or work on gaining r-merits/a-merits and buy them directly. You don't have to wait. Slot SOs.
Also this isn't a single player game. Every other player in the game shares the market. And they are after the same items you want.
Your options are to:
Outbid them
Put in what you're willing to pay and wait
Or slot SOs.
Personally I think at this point since merits can buy everything including PvP and Purple recipes complainers about the market aren't worth the bother to educate. I just laugh at them as I get everything I want. -
Quote:Someone was quitting last year and went on a mad selling and buying spree to spread it all out there. I wish I could remember who it was. That just might be someone's way of saying, "Here, you can have all my stuff."
Better than all the poser ragequitters who never do and never share.
Anyway someone complained that they were making inflation worse by doing that. -
Quote:Note it's a straw man so your command of the English language would seem to be in question. Validly so.More rubbish. A straw horse, that confirms to me you are more interested in belittling people than understanding what they are saying.
I also never said it was confusing - it must be easier to 'win points' when you put words into my mouth.
I'm not complaining about the free month or auras and what not. And never have complained about that. The difference between the complete edition and the prepurchase was clear.
Its not buyers remorse - lol - it's not having all the information presented.
Anyhow, if one sentence got me dogplied this much I'm dreading the follow up. I think I'll just ignore the posts with fingers in thier ears shouting "me so right - you so silly head' from now. So if I dont bother to reply to you, dont take it as how wonderful your debating skills were, and how well yor insults shut me up, but rather, you're not worth the time to reply to.
Afterall, this has been bounced around in the discussion thread for it months ago.
In short, the fact that the phrase Nor are there any incentives for preording it means no incentives for preordering.
This got changed.
This, most people in my experience would call deceptive.
Its not brain science, and it seems all people who claim otherwise can only present do is use insults and call fact rants, or post in total disacoiation to reallty claiming all the information was there from day one!
I dont understand how people within one post can say 'it was all clearly laid out' and in the same post then talk about how the gamestop was annoucned afterwards.
As for what I bolded, that would sum up how I feel about your posts now and in the future. -

Quote:I felt her use of the doorknob was special as was her method of looking around to really create doubt in her husband's mind about shooting her.Late on posting my thoughts, but I loved it. I don't recall them being aware of usable objects, such as a door knob. I guess I am fine with that level of "intelligence." Can't wait for the crazier stuff that happens later on!
For me it raised the question "how much of her prior life did she mentally have any access to?" -
Quote:Yeah but by that same reasoning if you are suffocating then lunch won't be on your mind either. That's only required for a species' continued existence. The dead don't care about that.
Edit: Side thought about that: Get yourself into a situation someday when you are literally starving to death... nookie won't be on your mind.
Heck, right now I am not anywhere close to starvation and pizza keeps coming into my mind. -
Quote:Did you deliberately omit the 4th thing we "must" do which is #1 on many of our lists?I've always thought of zombie hunger as nothing more than the ID taking over. As humans, at our most base level, we eat, excrete, sleep and die. Zombies don't appear to sleep. They'll have no control over their bowels. They're already dead. That leaves nothing but hunger. Edit: It's the last rudimentary desire: Consume.
The virus business is touched on in a nice way in the written series. I don't want to give it away here, though.
Granted none of the zombies trigger that desire. -
Quote:The options were clear. People were debating the choices the day it came out.Or the people who didn't think they would use intentional deceptive language in thier advertising it wasn't a clear cut case of being able to read it was a case of being able to read lawyer talk as it was something like 'there are no incentives to prepurchase ' and then they added the prepurchase bonuses.
(posted by iPhone please excuse formatting)
choice 1 (pre-purchase): No free month, early access to dual pistols and demon summoning, no extras
choice 2: Free month, wait for it and get it all.
Even day one people were wondering how we would get the extras if we pre-purchased.
So any statements that the choice was confusing can only be made by people who couldn't read simple English. -

Quote:UberGuy covered most of what I think.I think the market is a good deal healthier. I think it's a bit healthier compared to the old blue side and indescribably healthier red side. I think it's impossible to prove that this was due to the merger, because the merger came bundled with increased player populations and a new merit mechanic.
I should note that we don't know what situations Posi's "crystal ball" were focused on. One of the most basic assumptions in pre-I18 market merger discussions on the forums was that the Influence and Infamy currencies would remain separate. The actual I18 merge completely undercut that assumption by merging both the markets and the currencies. Every (rationally supported) downside prediction for merged markets had its foundation in that separation of currency. Perhaps Posi's did too.
I would add that I am glad for the currency and market merger so that even if the population drops down again there won't be a market difference between sides.
I waited over 3 years for it and I am just too glad to have it to berate Posi over it any more. As long as they never do anything so silly as that again. -
Quote:No one was smart enough to drive on the wrong side of the highway to escape? The relationship between the partner and wife didn't come as a surprise, but it works as a vehicle to bring in some more human drama later in the series. Can't argue with that.
Highway is congested with abandoned vehicles on the side leading away from Atlanta, but empty on the side leading into the city? I know what that means.
I liked the show but it would be nice to come across some reference to all the movies and games that do exist about such things and have at least one person apply that kind of "experience" to the situation.
I'd find a guy with a flamethrower and hide behind him. -

My characters would point at me and laugh saying "Ha! You have to take a bus to work!"
Then they would use their travel power to zoom off the screen like the Road Runner. -
And on this topic we just received a broadcast email from our qulaity officer.

Quote:People are making the mistake of using "leetspeek" in their resumes.Don't take what I said too literally.
What I meant was written language ought to be as formal as the venue it's used in. For instance I obviously have no problem with occasional emoticons or texting abbreviations in posts I see or use in this forum. But I don't think they have any place in a medical journal or even a high school book report. Unfortunately some people are getting so "loose" with their language usage that they think things like BFF and LOL are acceptable to use in any written text.
Basically I dislike people who expect too much language formality in all situations equally as much as people who are far too casual with things that call for some reasonable level of correctness. -
For me Cage was just flat out wrong in so many ways to be Johnny.
He is way too old to be believable. He was 42 when filming it for goodness sake.
I'd rather watch him as Big Daddy and the Sorcerer at his current age. I'll see GR 2 but I don't have much hope of liking it all that much. -
Quote:I keep those envenomed dagger temp powers handy for those situations. So bring food to the fight! Remember the Warshade Mantra: Must find more bodies!
It's not uncommon for Shield Defense or Dark Melee users to bring extra targets as fuel to help down the big game. It will be very difficult for a warshade to do this without eventually killing its food, but it would be possible.
Also keep in mind, fully slotted eclipse only needs 5 targets in range to cap resistance. With the shields active, there can be as few as three targets nearby. You'd still want ten targets to max out the mire.
I have no doubts that an AV could be soloed. It would take a lot of skill, a top notch build, and a dash of luck, but it could be done.
GM? Not going to happen. Requires somewhere around 350 effective DPS to simply overcome regen. Having a reliable -regen power would make all the difference in the world.
But I can only say the best I have been able to do is duo GMs with my warshade and a friend plus we both popped out temp power pets like Amy, Warwolves and Shivans. A lot of it will depend on the GM. Some are very nice about spawning help for them which we turn in to help for us. I think Eochai does that.
But it is far more fun (for me) with a team beating a GM senseless for the commentary. -

I just hate the thought of forgetting to buy the new thing then finding out I forgot as I go to do it only to have the store down then as I go to buy it.
That is why I like how we have been doing it and would be very curious to how they would manage any change to a different way.
