Warshade Vs GM

I was just wondering if any Warshade has been able to solo a GM or even an AV?

with nothing but it's own powers? No.

While WarShades have a wide range of powers they lack two of the critical debuff components "big game hunters" utilize.
  • WarShades have no method by which to debuff enemy Regneration.
  • WarShades have no method by which to debuff enemy Resistance.
Some damage-based archtypes, such as scrappers or blasters, are able to create situations where they can take on some "big game" objects with sheer DPS. Most of the big-game scrappers rely on builds with high-native defenses or mitigations, such as Shield or WillPower, so that they can soft-cap their defenses without limiting their ability to deliver damage. Most big game blasters rely on damage over time sets like Fire, and work with sets that have some debuffs like Mental Manipulation.

WarShades, while capable of reaching resistance cap with the Eclipse Power, won't be able to feed eclipse in a 1-on-1 sustained fight. The WarShade Stygian Circle power, while a powerful heal and endurance recovery tool, requires defeated foes, which again, are not going to be prominent in a 1-on-1 sustained fight.

Sheer damage isn't exactly an answer either. WarShades, while capable of reaching their damage cap with Sunless Mire need a full mob to do so. Again, not happening in a sustained 1-on-1 fight.

So, on paper, no, a WarShade cannot generate the debuffs on it's own to drop a big-game target, nor can a WarShade generate the DPS required to overcome a big-game target's natural stats, nor does a WarShade possess the survivability to remain in a sustained 1-on-1 fight.

A Warshade can technically take on an AV (caveat: one with no Negative Energy resistances) but not a GM.

You don't need a great deal of damage output to take on an AV - technically anything over 95 DPS will counter an AV's regeneration. Providing you can keep a few minions around to keep your Eclipse and Mire fuelled, it's perfectly doable for a Warshade.

GMs need a LOT more damage to counter their regen. I don't have the exact numbers to hand, but it's well over 300 DPS at level 50.

So bring food to the fight! Remember the Warshade Mantra: Must find more bodies!

It's not uncommon for Shield Defense or Dark Melee users to bring extra targets as fuel to help down the big game. It will be very difficult for a warshade to do this without eventually killing its food, but it would be possible.

Also keep in mind, fully slotted eclipse only needs 5 targets in range to cap resistance. With the shields active, there can be as few as three targets nearby. You'd still want ten targets to max out the mire.

I have no doubts that an AV could be soloed. It would take a lot of skill, a top notch build, and a dash of luck, but it could be done.

GM? Not going to happen. Requires somewhere around 350 effective DPS to simply overcome regen. Having a reliable -regen power would make all the difference in the world.

I keep those envenomed dagger temp powers handy for those situations.

But I can only say the best I have been able to do is duo GMs with my warshade and a friend plus we both popped out temp power pets like Amy, Warwolves and Shivans. A lot of it will depend on the GM. Some are very nice about spawning help for them which we turn in to help for us. I think Eochai does that.

But it is far more fun (for me) with a team beating a GM senseless for the commentary.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
