I always assume that whoever has invited me has looked at what level / AT I am and has determined that I would benifit XP wise from being in the team and my AT would be of use to the team. If they have messed up and I'm too high then I'll have words with them about it to make sure they don't make the mistake again.
If you don't like blinds, then just set your status to 'Not accepting invites'. -

Blinds are fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree. Blind invites are just a way for a person to tell me they cant be polite even by the slightest.
[ QUOTE ]
Is it quicker to click Yes/No than to press the backspace key, type Yes/No, then press enter? No - the blind invite is quicker and amounts to the same thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
And exactly how many seconds of your life do you waste if you first reply "Yes" and then get the invite and click "Yes". Maybe 10? 15? The speed part of this is a bit irrelevant tbh, because no one in this game will lose anything if you join the team 10 or 15 seconds later. Also, I dont actually think it does amount for the same thing. Polite way of asking me to join a team always beats a blind invite.
[ QUOTE ]
Just because some players annoy you by asking you 50 times in 1 hour, doesn't automatically make the system they use rude. Its the people not remembering or being stupid that you have the problem with - not the system itself.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but it still doesn't make it polite to send a blind.
[ QUOTE ]
In short, blame the person directly, not the method - which is fine and is used well by most people.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, as I've already said a few times.. The method isn't fine. If you dont have a few spare seconds to ask me if I want to join the team or not before the invite I wont join.
Oh yeah, and something which is also annoying is "Hi wanna join team" and invite at the same time/before I've replied yes or no. I also hate people who just ask "hi can I join team plz"... If you cant be bothered to tell me your lvl/AT I wont be bothered to invite you.
Heh. Maybe I am a bit demanding of the community but this is just meand I actually do tell my lvl/AT when asking to join a team and send a tell before I invite...
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah - you are completely wrong. A blind invite is exactly the same as asking, do you wish to join, Yes/No. Except its a built in way of asking. Its a question. Same as a tell. Just there is a built in way of asking for speed and convienence. Your seconds might not mean much but some peoples do. Plus, its the added Gyp of actually having to type a polite (usually) response. I'd much rather click a button.
If you really don't want any blinds then you can always put yourself in the mode where people cannot invite you.
Blind invites = OK
Going into a mish first = OK (seems to be a trend to hang around the doors for no good reason these days.
Starting a mish before everyone gets in there = OK
Insps in PvP = OK
Droning in PvP = OK
Mob TP in PvP = OK
If someone can actually tell me exactly how or why a blind invite is rude then I'll happily change my opinion. And the answer 'because it just is' will not be accepted. -

The best invite would be a 'Hey, do you want to join a team of X players fights level XX's?' Then following that with a blind yes/no invite. Good information followed by a yes/no button for speed.
Just because some players annoy you by asking you 50 times in 1 hour, doesn't automatically make the system they use rude. Its the people not remembering or being stupid that you have the problem with - not the system itself.
If they sent you 50 tells in 1 hour asking you if you wanted to join a team, would you come on here saying 'Are tells rude?'.

this guy has taken to logging onto his Rad/Cold Corrupter and using TP Foe + Stun to get me as much debt as possible.
This has not been an isolated incident and I can not enjoy pvp in Sirens without this guy hounding me.
Is there anything that can be done to stop this?

Sweet Chilli forever trying to gain my attention lately. I am starting to think that I am the reason you come to the non pvp parts of the forum with the lame illogical idea that a persons avatar can tell people anything. I picked the actress that could act the part of one of my characters end of story, its based on that thing "acting". Who is that poor unfortunate person thats in your avatar?

Didnt they change the range on this as well to 80ft?
Sometimes I don't talk sense because I am trying to talk in code. You have to turn what I say on its head. Then at other times I have one thing confused with another. Sometimes it all depends on peoples perspective and intent; but most of the time I have been drinking.

Sweet lord on a bike.
I just realised that we missed a very easy way to kill hami.
Back when the Outborous portals generated agro and couldn't be destroyed, we could have laid a few of those down to tank hami and any mitos.
We could have then just laid into him!
Curses! Anyone know what sort of agro oil slick generates and how long one will last in front of hami? -
Raiding and IoP eventually, maybe, maybe not.

Is it a hero sg or villain sg you are after? There are not to many that concentrate solely on pvp.
Hero wise there are a few that do a lot of pvp but not sure of the requirements to get in. Off top of my head you have vindicate and retribution. Super union used to do a lot but wouldn't class them as a pvp group (they dabble in it).
Villain side is a similar story. You have groups that tend to do a lot of pvp but not created solely for it. You have got EVIL, Fatality (villain version of Vindicate), Horde, the gathering and Ultimate Darkness.
There is a probably a couple more which escaped me. However I won't say too much as could be classed as slightly biased lol.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Super Union has had quite a few base raids and have won all of them I believe. The list of defeated SG's include Art of War, E.V.I.L, The Horde. Think we've had about 3 other's but can't remember which SG's they were against. -

I don't care about being ganked by people once, being attacked by surprise, for anyones duels or whether or not its fair to be TK'd into foes or TP'd droned. Once you have proved yourself with someone and got a rep; then unless there is some valuable info to gain from perhaps a combat log or that person is more than willing to have another go for their interests; then I think its job done. In PVP there are almost no rules. Rules are made by people to suit themselves whenever more than by the given limitations that the EULA and what possible mechanics are left. One golden rule for the good of the game is to not consistently harass people and make them leave or go off the idea of PvP.
In short its either about getting a rep or bounty, attaining some knowledge, doing whatever dirty trick it takes to win the zone or both opposing PvPers idea of fun. The rest is trash to me and so constantly getting someone (get them once by all means for a rep or bounty) who is just trying to get a explorer badge would be trash because its ruining their evening (get them once by all means for a rep or bounty). I was constantly ganked once and so when I eventually became the bounty I just as shamelessly spent the evening in the hospital, untouchable, watching movies, Wimbledon I think it was followed by Love Actually.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then don't get too close to the drones or always carry enough bf's to break tk if there is someone in the zone with tk. Its that simple.
We don't all just pvp for rep, bounty or any of the other things you mentioned.
Why not harass people or try and put them off the idea of pvp? If they are getting on everyone nerves in the zone and are acting like a PITA them putting them off pvp seems like a good idea to me.
And ruining a carebear badgers evening by making them work for a zone badge sounds good to me. Surely the original idea of the pvp zone badges was to reward those who actually pvp in the zones instead of sitting in the hospital. Badgers are sad creatures anyways and deserve anything they get. I personally like to mob tp them.
People sitting in the hospital doesn't bother me. You get bounty from killing anyone - not just the top bounty BTW.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll never understand what fun there is in repeating the same moves on someone thats already been recently beaten, whose only way of getting on peoples nerves is by being there and unwilling to fight really. Is there a thrill to be had from it? In PVE you can ignore people whom you don't like or have had enough of in terms of spoiling your evening but in a PVP zone you can't really, the option to ignore doesn't actually exist. I can't say it should but harassment takes on many forms and to get ganked, go to hospital, get ganked goto hospital over and over isn't fun for the gankee. Gut if the gankee is getting time badge anyway, sits in the hospital as the target bounty too much in the way of complaints spoiling the gankers fun and watching a film thats much more interesting. People being put off only leads to there being less people taking part, if zones are fun for everyone then I'd imagine that a good thing anyways by watching a movie as the bounty people were put off but like you I wasn't bothered.
I do pvp if attacked without a worry, I see the no rules situation and I thought tp droning was a fair tactic but eventually ppl get bored with repetition.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I'm afraid its always pretty much the same moves all the time. Most people fire off pretty much every power they have until the other person is dead or until they are dead/sent running. Its not like its very practical to respec in the middle of a fight so I don't know what other 'moves' you expect someone els to use.
Getting ganked and learning to deal with it is what happens in the zones. You either learn to deal with it and get around it if you are a good player or just hide in the hosp if you are a bad player.
Then again - maybe certain people just get ganked because no one likes them.
I don't care if people are put off. The people who are put off tend to be the ones we don't want in the zones anyway.
I don't care if people get bored with repetition. I'm not in the zones to entertain people or amuse them. I'm not there to thrill them with fantastic powers or make them gasp in awe. I'm there to kill them. Pure and simple. If they cannot find a way to counter that then that isn't my problem and doesn't stop my own entertainment. -

Love it.
Great post Blaps lol
Simple fact of the matter is if you enter a pvp zone, like the contacts will tell you, prepare to be attacked. It is completely irrelevant whether or not you are there for farming, badge hunting etc. How or why other players decide to attack you is also irrelevant, it is their perogative.
You may not agree with it, it may seem 'dishonourable' (lmao@honour - especially with the hero/villain ethos), but that is YOUR issue, not that of the person/people attacking you.
And let me set something straight, I don't think I know any pvpers who give two hoots about reputation. I only go into pvp zones to kill as much of the enemy as possible, as many times as i can. And if someone is daft enough to whinge about it on open broadcast, they may as well paint a big red target above their head.
As for the whole 'science' argument, as a practising science teacher, i find the whole matter quite interesting. I believe to a greater extent, Chilli is mostly correct.
Even if you find it very difficult to currently link a topic to science, this does not mean that it can not be so in the future. From a theoretical perspective, everything we know now came about as a direct result of the 'big bang', so thought, time, religion, animal, vegtable and mineral are all inextricably linked at some juncture.
