I personally used to enjoy tp'ing other players to mobs and holding them there while the mobs kill them.

However, I don't do it that much these days - unless I'm bored. I considered this bad form but I just can't help myself. I am a bad man!

While I don't enjoy pvp much, I've spent some time in RV lately on different alts (Defiant) and witnessed different more or less funny behaviour. I know this discussion has been up before, but where's the limit? When is it worth petitioning a behaviour (aside from foul language)

- Being Tp'd out of base entrance and killed, while clearly AFK?
- Being killed, then hunted down repeatedly by the same person when you're a first timer in the zone?
- After being droned once?
- After being droned repeatedly?
- When someone is clearly using a 3rd party macro program?
- When one side uses a spy on the other side to hunt down someone?
- When one side confuses that spy to take down the other sides second account buffer that's hidden in the base?

Personally I have a very high tolerance, and even if I despise some of the people using this and other techniques, I defend their rights to be (cencored cencored).

I'd like to hear what you think is ok/not ok, and also what's really, actually not officially ok. True, I haven't really bothered to look, but are there any clear rules about what's NOT allowed? Have you seen any other behaviour that you think should be "dealt with"?

So, what say you?

There is no 3rd party macro targetting program. There was a suspected bug reported by myself and Far-seer around 2 years ago that allows 1 player to target people in the zone. As this hasn't been fixed I assume that it is not actually a bug and I have passed this on to some other players. It is probably this method that is being used.

I think the OP needs to look up what the words inconvientient and rude mean. When he has a better understanding of basic words then and only then can this thread continue.

The OP is clearly distressed by this. @Sneaky_thieving_goit seems to have done this on purpose, but that is beside the point - the OP is distressed, and it was by @Sneaky_thieving_goit's actions. Action should be taken. I don't care what that action is, as long as some is taken. I trust the GMs enough to suppose that on consideration they will do/have done so.

As for whether the OP should get his stuff back... in the interests of fairness, yes, but policy is that he won't, so I can understand the official stance. On the other hand, if the removed stuff can be taken away from @Sneaky_thieving_goit and given back to the OP, then that would be a VERY equitable result.

I agree with a lot of whats been said but its not just what the Devs should do for PvP though.

A person with a PvE build or a naturally disadvantaged character to say person A should be able to PvP for fun and walk away from person A sharing a certain level of individual respect win or lose.

You can't always judge peoples abilities based on their build. Some builds just have an "I win button" compared to another no matter whose playing it.

I think that a character is an extension of no one, nothing personal needs to be brought into it nor should egos be fueled by it. Its all done for a different kind of fun or challenge. But it's like anything though you come across people who have nothing better to do with their time than act like they're somebody from it all and put others off.

Team PvP should be rather good, much more balanced than duels, however some people like to always win and align themselves with people who can provide characters that pretty much will always win. The game would be much more interesting when either side stands a chance of losing I would of thought. So for me it'll pay be more sociable and pass your 'best man' over to losing side and no matter what side your on provide feedback thats constructive.

The idea of; damage per second of cast time not being included in the original equation; that certain effects and damage types are more commonly resisted/unresisted and that defense in PvP is a joke makes me think "why box in a match rigged by the referee?" with a character of concept.

PvP needs work in this game and its no secret.

Inbalances exist that some matches may as well of been fixed. Pretenders may rise to a throne.

I don't like people telling other people what I think when they can't possibly know. Often no matter how you word things people will read into it "their way" or assign a personality to you that doesn't exist.

Edit: I will like to point out that there are some very good PvPers who treat it as a science, are very warm to new people, leave their egos outside of their characters, aren't irrational and act in a mature manner when PvPing. More people like them should get more people in PvP.

Edit No 2: To be fair I habitually troll PvPers, should my tank be in a PvP zone I would rather her to not have to use taunt at all...thanks

Well exactly.

People who enter a zone and complain when they get attacked or are tp'ed to a mob need to either toughen up or get out the zone.

If they are going to complain every time something happens then they are never going to like pvp and are just going to cause the zone chatter to get out of control.

Its called tough love. They either toughen up or move out with no loss to the pvp community whatsoever.

Actually, there was a thread years ago where I asked Bridger if when 2 people enter a pvp zone, one tp's the other to a mob and uses a web grenade and no other powers and lets the mob kill the other player. Was this griefing. Bridgers answer was no.

Pwn them - but wait until they have just started fighting some NPC and hold them. Then, sit back and watch the mob pwn commence!

Yes, I do understand your position. Maybe a 'No blind invite but still looking for a team' option would help people in your position. Where people cannot send you an invite but are aware that you are looking for a team and will appear on the looking for team option.

As I say - the blind invite usually works great for me as its usually for someone around my level and maybe only doesn't work around 1% of the time. Maybe I am just lucky though.

Now, now Eddy. Lets not get personal. Don't flare up the war in here please as you will not like the results. I'm just glad you used the word 'usually'. Usually people who make blanket statements are total mooks. (yes - I know, I know - don't point out the obvious please. That would be like shouting out the sub £1,000 answers on WWTBAM).

You put it on that setting, then when you get a tell asking you if you wish to join, then you change it.

I personally always like to team unless I am doing something very specific like going for an accolade or fiddling about with my costume. I never use that setting myself, just because I don't mind blinds and I have no problem with clicking no. If I get the same person asking me within 5 minutes then I will send them a tell and ask them [censored] they are being a dumb mook for.

This servers 2 purposes.
1) I like getting angry with people. Great stress relief. Sweet Chilli loves a war!
2. Teaches them a lesson. I do this through the goodness of my own heart though. Kind of a 'tough love' thing.
