I'm not sure why everybody is saying maneuvers are better than assault. Ok, you can slot -kb and LotG....great. What if you don't need them? If you can get enough -kb and enough recharge with other slottings, then what purpose does maneuvers serve? In that case, it's a 100% useless power vs a power that does add at least a little extra damage.
Or are you guys talking specifically about some certain build, not in general? -
-tohit is only underrated in duels probably. It's fairly useless in a zone, since even if you debuff some guy, there are 4 others attacking you that you didn't debuff....and all of them can knock off your toggle. Makes playing a rad especially hard. In a busy zone, it's straight up impossible to keep a toggle on anybody for longer than like 5 seconds.
-
That's my exact experience as well.
-
Where do you PvP?
If you're actually able to KB people with claws, that might explain why you're also doing well with SR. -
No it's not a waste of time. That's a good combo. TA has a pretty tough time killing anything solo, but it's great to have on teams. And you can annoy pretty much everybody.
-
Yeah, I still use my DM/SR every once in a while when I feel like being humbled. Nothing like playing a scrapper with literally no secondary to make you lol at the game and its nerfs.
In elude, there's actually a small chance that someone might miss me. Out of elude, I might as well not even turn on my toggles. They do nothing. -
Quote:Yeah, sorry I'm late.I doubt most people could name 5 "elite" pvpers that still play. for those that want to try though heres a hint, no one that has posted in this thread so far is an "elite" pvper.
But seriously, I could name 5 elite PvP'ers. The average is a lot lower now, so it's much easier to pick out the best. We had a thread about it recently, and most posters mentioned the same 5-6 guys. -
Different top blasters in the game have different opinions on what's truly the best. That's enough for me to say there's room for argument.
I don't think that there's any question that psy is the easiest to play, because the playstyle revolves around exploiting a bug. But if that ever gets fixed, and the sets can be compared fairly, fire is right up there...as is sonic. -
It has more burst than fire or sonic. But over time, fire and sonic are capable of more damage. Fire and sonic are both about just spamming a couple attacks...with sonic also having the situational shout. Psy and archery are more about quick burst.
I do agree that archery is better than rad. Simply fixing the placate proc would totally shake up the blaster primary rankings though. Imo it could take psy from #1 a lot further than just #2. -
Quote:The problem is, they worked completely different for 4+ years. And then the game was literally destroyed, on a random whim of people that never even PvP'd. There was absolutely no reason for the overhaul, and absolutely no logic behind many of the changes. And in the end, it accomplished literally nothing of what it was intended to do. There are less PvP'ers in the game overall, the competitive PvP scene is destroyed, and 90% of top players are gone from the game.As for PvP being 'broken', that's obviously a matter of opinion. The rules work the way they work, adapt or be defeated.
So no, it's not a matter of opinion. This game sucks compared to how it used to be. Imagine your precious PvE, except you can't move any time you use any power, half the powers are bugged, and the other half work completely differently than they normally do (with zero in-game explanation of this). Yeah, there's a reason these changes didn't make it to PvE. CoX would lose 90% of all their subscribers....not just 90% of the PvP'ers.
As far as the rest of your post, get over it. There is trash talk and stupid people in PvE too. And all other games. Either block it out, or learn to enjoy it like barrier does. -
Pretty sure it's the fact that it's broken and not fun for them....not because some people talk trash.
I do agree with BB....what he's saying isn't anything new. It's not a good idea to start off on a regen, or any scrapper. They're easy mode. Learn to play on a more difficult AT, and then the game will be easier. -

Sonic.
The stun is also your best -res power. -
Nobody good takes tough and weave, at least that I know.

Perhaps he beat me by a couple weeks then. I didn't do the beta...just respecced into fly like a day after I13 went live. But I actually went with it on live for months. Flying blasters ftw.

Quote:Hey jerseyan...long time no see.If you look at the way he forms his rants...seems as though English isn't his 1st language.
As far as elf, he's a black guy from NYC. So he has no more reason to sound like an 8 year old than you. Yeah, it's sad. And no, he's not "trying". Any time someone corrects anything, he just insults them. He's perfectly content with being seen as an ignorant moron. And as such, he deserves to be treated like one. -
-
lol that happened to me kinda. I had a full tray of T2's from sirens. Match starts, and somewhere along the way I realize I can't use my inspirations. Figured that option was set.
Turned out I was wrong....he had all inspirations off -
Honestly, I pretend drops don't even exist. That's pretty much how they are anyway. Since they were implemented, I've gotten like 3 total drops, and I do literally nothing but PvP. 3 drops per half a year of playtime is simply laughable.
That's actually another thing the devs are as clueless about as they are about PvP....the market. It's clear they have absolutely no clue what's going on in their own game. Some enhancements cost more than some casual players will make in their whole time playing this game. It's simply a joke. And it's getting worse and worse. -
When I13 came out I predicted that flying sniping blasters would become FotM, so I respecced mine to it, and paved the way for all the bad ones lol.
I also respecced some other toons into fly, and ran with fly+tp builds for quite some time.
I mostly play the same toons I played years ago, so some of them were jokes then but are good now, while some were great then but are jokes now. -
Well great....now I just feel sorry for the guy. lol
-
No offense dude, but you really do sound like a retard. Either that, or a foreign person that doesn't know English very well. But since you basically denied the latter, I'll assume it's the former. Honestly, I don't understand how a native speaker could be THIS bad at writing in their own language. Unless you're 8 years old. Then it's also ok.
-
Umm, I simply asked where you were from. By the way, it's called having a crush ON someone, not for someone.
Perhaps you should go back to middle school. I think they teach kids to speak English and stuff. You still have a chance to not sound like a complete retard every time you type something. -
Elk Talker, where are you from? It looks like you just learned English last week or something. Or are you just like 8 years old or something?

From what I've seen (last time I used it was like 3 months ago), it's an long unresisted (~10 seconds?) hold. Unresisted meaning it even holds tanks for that long. But it does stop as soon as the person takes any damage from anybody. Basically it's extremely useful for setting up AS or just for applying debuffs to a target, before actually attacking.
