Sent to a Dev 9/29/09 and still no response.
The reply would be something like:
It's PvP related... we don't give a damn. We're too busy making stuff like walk powers and dummies that move in RWZ.
I don't care if they review drop rates, I just want them to give us a number so we can at least check ourselves. A double-check on their part would be nice too, but I think the drop rate's probably where it's supposed to be.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
I think the PvP drop rate falls somewhere between apathy and disregard.
We don' need no stinkin' signatures!
Honestly, I pretend drops don't even exist. That's pretty much how they are anyway. Since they were implemented, I've gotten like 3 total drops, and I do literally nothing but PvP. 3 drops per half a year of playtime is simply laughable.
That's actually another thing the devs are as clueless about as they are about PvP....the market. It's clear they have absolutely no clue what's going on in their own game. Some enhancements cost more than some casual players will make in their whole time playing this game. It's simply a joke. And it's getting worse and worse.
Merging the markets is the single best thing (short of upping the drop rate) that can be done for the availability and affordability of IOs, and they've essentially thrown that idea out the window because of an inf disparity between sides that would, ironically, be most quickly resolved by merging the markets.

The prices and everything I can understand.... rare stuff and all.
What bugs me is... the only "real" chance I have at getting a PvP drops on a semi regular basis is to either A. Re sub my second account and AFK farm. B. Spend real money to transfer to a server that has an active PvP pop.
Infinity being home, its third in population I think, I can't even imagine the smaller servers having any possible way to see a drop outside of Farming themselves with a second account.
Purples take time, but the chance to get them is always there. With PvP IO's its very possible on smaller servers to just not have any targets for even a chance to get them.
That would be my gripe.
I can in no way understand prices as they are now. I remember when a purple recipe would run you 35-50 mil and thinking WTF!! I am gonna have to farm for 4 days straight just to get ONE recipe. I also remember when PvP IOs were going for the same. Thankfully I bought quite a few when they were sub 100 mil and my toons love me for it..... cause there is NO WAY I could afford a whole set of Panacea at 500 mill a recipe. I am in total agreement with the whole market merger. That would solve soooooo many issues IMO. Unfortunately, we will likely never see such a thing. Maybe, just maybe, Going Rogue will in some way give merger a chance......... I doubt it though.
And as far as PvP drops........ all I do is PvP and I have only ever gotten 3 drops myself.
I got 3 last weekend o.o
Either Im one lucky SoB or thars sum srs dev hating on other pvpers cuz I average 3-5 a weekend, in which I do practically LIVE in RV.
Btw, Im not lucky, I rolled 500 merits and I got 1 thing worth over 30 mil, then I raged and went to sleep hating things.
"Greetings!
The PvP community would love it if you reviewed PvP recipe drop rates and provided a response on your findings as well.
Thanks!
