Would it be possible to change the /Devices and /Traps power, Time Bomb, to something more like a remote-controlled bomb? You click the power's icon once to set it, and the next click triggers it. That way, you could still only set one at a time. And, for my money, that would be a lot more useful than the Time Bomb.

Is there a way to transfer a toon between my two accounts, so I can have a 50 on each?
-
But I've never seen the login server on the list - just the play servers and the training server. How do I find out whether the login server's up or not, without trying to log in?
-
It would be nice if the NCSoft launcher included indicators of the status of the games' login servers, too, so we can know whether or not trying to log in was a waste of time.

1. Animal Controller and/or Mastermind.
2. Quarterstaff for scrapper, stalker, tanker and/or brute. Also, a Robin-Hood-style hat, to go with the quarterstaff and bow. -
I did something like that with my first redside toon - a robot MM named My Master. That way, I had everyone acknowledging his rulership right from level 1 - the contacts said things like, "Well done, My Master," and passers-by said things like, "I saw My Master fighting the Snakes."
-
I have LONG wanted costume jetpacks as a way of explaining how Natural- and Tech-origin toons can fly. Something like a permanent version of the Raptor pack.

Sometimes when talking to NPCs, having only one form of a name (depending on the name) can come across as stiffly formal, and even artificial (Contact: "Boy, Sgt. Sam Hill, that got hairy for a while! But you handled that mission well. I feel I can trust you fully now, Sgt. Sam Hill.") I'd like to suggest that it be possible to specify two forms of a toon's name - the one used to talk ABOUT him (Passerby NPC: "I heard that Sgt. Sam Hill is on the case."), and the one used to talk TO him (Rescued NPC: "Thank you for rescuing me, Sgt. Hill!"). I don't know how existing toons would be handled; perhaps each toon could be issued a free name-change token with an expiration date. That's for the devs to work out.

I don't know if any of these have already been suggested.
1. A proper hardhat for my construction-worker earth controller. I've tried painting a military helmet yellow; it looks pathetically pretend. I've seen actual hardhats on passer-by NPCs; why don't we have them?
2. My private eye needs a cloth trenchcoat. A leather one with a suit and fedora is just wrong.
3. I'd love more cowboy costume options. NOT the Roy Rogers, singing-cowboy type, either. Reruns of Gunsmoke and Bonanza have great examples: different hat styles, neck kerchiefs, open vests, gunbelts, etc.
4. Is it possible for the clothing clipping errors to be eliminated? As an example, I tried making a toon with Martial-Arts 1 robe (as a makeshift smoking jacket) and the high-collar cape/cloak from the magic booster pack. When they're different colors, the robe back and sleeves easily show through the cape when the toon does anything. I've also seen the top of a toon's head show through the top of the Official cap. And, on at least one of the martial-arts robes, at times it looks like the left sleeve is coming off at the seam of the body; the formal tux is the same way.
I know costumes are low priority, what with all that's on the devs' plate right now. But nothing lost in putting in the requests. Thanks for your time.

If possible, I'd like the opportunity, even once, to be able to move veteran/bought toon slots between servers. (The extra slots that you either buy, or get as free slots to place on any server.) A friend and I used to play on a particular server, and I placed several extra slots there for more toons. Now that he no longer plays, I'd really like to move those slots to a server where I play more, where they'd be more useful. How much of a pain would it be for them to move slots between servers? Thank you.

How about making free server transfers a regular occurrence? Like, maybe add them to a couple of holiday events, or something. I've been hoping there'd be another one soon.
-
Yes! Exactly what I keep. Far too often, I've popped a yellow, and then missed on my very next attack. Or popped Sturdies/Lucks, and promptly get dead. Now, I just keep those four, and turn the others into those four, because those are the only ones that I know actually work.

Does anyone know if there will be another free server-transfer event soon?

Quote:That's exactly what I was talking about. With the numbering not being linear, how does one tell what will be enough, and what won't? The processor, RAM and storage are easy to figure out, but, to my knowledge, there's no standardized system of comparing one graphics chip/card against another in the store to tell if it's "enough." I was looking at a laptop that said it had "Intel HD graphics." Nothing in CoX's graphics specs said anything about Intel, so I was lost there. SerialBeggar's link looks to be a great help. Both ATI/AMD and nVidia changed their numbering schemes a couple of times over that period.
Um, CoX, if you guys could, occasionally, tell us what the game needs as relates to what's CURRENTLY out here in the real world, we'd appreciate it.
Thanks, all. -
I'm thinking of getting a new computer, and I took a printout of CoX's recommended PC requirements (from CoH's Going Rogue store page) into Best Buy to try to find the least-expensive computer that would run CoX. The sales guy helping me could figure out the rest of the requirements, but whether or not a computer's graphics capability was up to par was foggy. For instance, the recommended ATI is a Radeon 9600 or higher. None of the computers' descriptions gave me any clue as to which were higher, and which weren't. And the ATI cards on the shelves were like 55xx. Higher than 9600, or not? Could someone tell me how to find out what graphics cards/chips to look for? The ATI above is just used as an example; I'm not necessarily set on ATI. Thanks for your time, and for any help.

Sorry; yes, I meant to suggest that this be corrected.

There's a mission, early on in CoH, that's given by several contacts, including Paco Sanchez, Genevieve Sanders and Laurence Mansfield. I'm listing the name (as shown in the compass) as "Arrest (Name B) And His Crew" because the target bad guy gets renamed partway through the briefing. It doesn't affect gameplay, but it IS confusing when you first see it. The briefing goes as follows:
"According to my sources, one of the Hellions' high-ranking thugs, (Name A), is holed up in a nearby abandoned office. Can you arrest (Name A) for me? If we can put one of their big shots in jail, it may help us curb the Hellions' violence."
<You click on "Arrest (Name A)" at this point.>
"Maybe (Name B) can tell us where the Hellions are getting their steady supply of artifacts."
And the mission uses Name B from then on. I've seen this for years; lots of my toons have gotten this mission. Some of the Name-A names are White Phosphorus, Baphomet, Fire Fist, Hell Storm, and Batzelbub, and some of the Name-B names are Revenant, Scorch, Char, and Inferno. Thanks for your time. -
Minor correction: I meant "influence-to-prestige," not "inspiration-to-prestige."
Thanks, all, for the suggestions. Actually, when I asked if I was missing something, I was wondering if anyone knew what damage would be done to the game economy if they doubled, or even tripled, the prestige drops.
I do run SGs for my toons alone, but it's not antisocial. I've tried being part of someone else's SG, and I eventually felt like I was working for him - like my toons became his when they joined, and I ran them for him to benefit his SG.
When I posted the original message, I almost closed it with "Let the flaming begin." Thanks again for being so helpful. -
Why is the game so extremely stingy with prestige? It's given out with an eyedropper after kills, and the inspiration-to-prestige exchange rate is nothing short of thievery. I realize that too much influence, injected into the game, ruins the virtual economy. But I don't see how more prestige would hurt. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks, all.

Recently, I decided to try to get my toons more organized. I was going through them, on four servers, to note what they had or needed (salvage, recipes, whether or not I had accidentally skipped Montague or the IO tutorial, etc.) This was a real hassle; switching between all those toons meant logging back into my account many, many times times. Would it be possible to get a menu of log-out options, to avoid having to re-do the log-in procedure when it's not necessary? It could be something like "Switch characters on this server", "Switch servers", "Switch accounts", and "Quit". Thanks, all.

(I don't know what the technical term is for calling a contact and completing the mission without actually doing it; I just call it "auto-completing.")
Why are some missions set so that you don't get the option to auto-complete them? Montague, in particular, seems to not like auto-completion for lots of his missions. I know you used to be able to auto-complete the raptor-pack mission in KR, but that was changed; I guess they figure you should earn it. But, in general, why are they so adamant about some missions being done manually? Thanks, all. -
The following has happened to me at least twice. My toon crafts the Lost cure. Then, in my eagerness, I start curing Lost without realizing that I didn't actually GET the mission (Cure Lost) from Monty yet. I cure one Lost, the cure evaporates, and I can't complete the mission. I can't even auto-complete it, because Monty didn't give me that option. Just now, I had to bother Support, who graciously completed it for me. Would someone please either make the mission auto-completable, or put a safety catch on the cure so it can't be clicked before you have the Cure Lost mission? Thanks, all.

A teleport beacon to The Midnighters Club, if not directly to Cimmerora.

A friend and I were talking CoX wishes, and agreed on these.
1. Turning the toons' cellphones into smartphones by giving us remote access to the Market and Vault Reserve. Just being able to see what's there, and place bids, would be enough. But, at the end of some missions, when we check in with the contact, we're able to give them something over the phone - a recovered report, sample, book, etc. So, with Wenty's and VR, being able to move stuff back and forth would be nice, but not urgent.
2. Recipe storage for group bases.
Also, is there a specific reason why tips start dropping at level 20, instead of 10 or 15? I wonder this every time I think of all the prestige my supergroup missed out on by my having to take a villain all the way to 22 or higher - when the toon fully crosses over, and can join the group. If there's a practical reason, then that's cool. If it was an arbitrary choice, I wish someone would consider lowering the level. Thanks, all.
