  1. I dont think I have ever seen an Ill/emp in game, nevermind in PvP
  2. Actually fire/fire tank isnt retarded in the pve game if you know what your doing

PvP it didnt used to be bad but since i13 I have no idea tbh thats why Im here :P
  3. Well im starting to think its the claws side thats draining my endurence more than the other player is. Claws may have low endurence cost but because of its speed and animation time its almost constantly going down in buckets at a time.

So for that reason I am thinking of rerolling, Fire/Fire brute, Fire/Fire tanker or Fire/Fire scrapper. Which would you guys say is the best in PvP and why?

  5. I'm in with the 'prompt was lame' crowd.

If walk turns off the buff why was this even needed? If you get buffed and you dont want to, hit walk then put your toggles back on... its not hard and it keeps everyone happy other than the lazy people who cant be bothered to put there toggles back on after :P
  6. Actually was just going to say I wanna change my vote to */dark armor just because of the fun you can have with those psy/em blasters
  7. Nice charecter, think just about everyone wants holsters

As for cowboy theme, nice idea. Would also be good to promote gay pride seen as we would be seeing a buttload (no pun intended ) of brokeback mountain rip offs
  8. You know you have a good thing going when the noobs try to pass it off as there own

This goes for builds, AE arcs and costumes lol. Nice build Iggy
  9. As the title says, what would you all say is the most underused and underated pvp charecter?

my vote would probably be along the lines of a stone melee brute/tanker. People compare it to super strength and because rage is up perma they go there instead, which is a fair point but stone doesnt perform badly at all, although admittedly SS may play better it does have its plus points.

It has a mag 4 hold in seismic smash on a 20s recharge where as SS has a mag 3 in KO Blow and has a 25s recharge. The two hammers deal more damage than SS first two attacks plus it still has build up which even though its not perma its still good when its up. Tremor isnt bad either. Double stacked rage does make it look like crap though when you only have build up but as a primary its pretty solid.
  10. Well thanks for all the comments guys

The plan has been put on hold for now at least since the themed team we were planning on running isnt going anymore so if the PvE side theres no reason to play it either theres not much point on making it for PvP
  11. That would be ideal if it didnt sound so complicated lol
  12. Actually after comparing the damage, full auto hits little less than slug does and its a lot longer animation, so took out full auto and put weave in for the immob resists, and moved slots to health for more hp/regen.

Also put a lotg recharge speed in weave.

Looking at the build, it could be a half decent disruption charecter possibly...

  14. well heat exhaustion -> sleet -> power boost -> soul storm -> full auto then.
  15. Yeah pretty much I expect a horribad pvp charecter but like so many things you read you never know until you try it

One thing I just thought of though, what about AR/Kin?

AR doesnt have an aim power therefore sucks in terms of damage, kins damage boosts would make up for that to some extent however you would have less defencive power because of it since kin has no armor type boost to either res or defence and no -res debuff.

Another idea I had, how about power boost -> soul storm -> Ignite combo? power boost and slotted soul storm is a 5.5s hold, whilst ignite is a 10s DoT it still would hit around half of that not including animation time and you could probably still get one more shot off whilst there under hold still.

Either that or power boost -> soul storm -> full auto? can get the full animation in then without being hit and damage isnt that bad either.

With kin you could extend that to FS -> Syphon power -> power boost -> soul storm -> full auto/ignite as well... since there held it would also be less resisted right?

Thats probably true but you also forget that I'l probably get ganked BECAUSE I'm playing an AR corruptor too lol.

Let me ask you this. Do you win every single time on FotM builds? Do you dominate everybody you play? If not, you should probably not be making really bad new builds, but concentrate on getting better with what you already have.
Im not doing it to win 100% of fights though, thats not going to happen on any charecter you make.

Ive pretty much played all the boring FotM builds to death, im tired of the same regular things that were forced upon us with a crappy pvp system that was half finished and never fixed.

Like I said above, Im making an AR charecter either way, whether its for PvE only or not but I would like to try the impossible and make it somewhat useable.

Plus I'd also like to prove that not everyone who plays AR or Traps is as bad as dahjee
  18. With War Witch stating that they are now considering looking towards the suggestion forums for future booster pack ideas after mutation set I have a few suggestions.

    1) Animal themed pack - More animal based pieces such as paws, claws, snouts, animated ears that twitch and can take two colours to match the hair colours and more animal heads rather than the beast ones we have. These would include snake heads, feline heads, bear heads, dog heads etc.
Power included with set: Predatory Instincts - Your ability to sense stealthy foes increases for a set amount of time as well as your run and jump speed. (click power on a longer recharge, not toggle so you dont make ninja run and this the new travel power to have instead of level 14 powers, also if possible put the player in a run stance where you run on all fours)

    2) NPC Costume pack - Suggested several times, wanted by loads of players, general reason given why not implemented was because it would be difficult to make pieces apply to all genders, such as a BAB's gloves for females. This shouldnt be an issue because if you cant easily copy the piece to a certain charecter build, then dont. Just leave the player to make the choice. Now science pack lets you change builds it shouldnt matter much. PvP wouldnt be much of an issue either because of the names above the heads and different powers to NPC's. The only way you arent going to notice right away that its not an NPC is if they have an illegal name replecating an in game charecter anyway.

    3) New Hair Pack - Rather than changing all the current hair pieces in game to be animated, just leave people the option to choose between and have a few created animated hair pieces bundled into a pack, over time more could be added along with other themed packs.

    4) Futuristic/tech themed pack - We have a cyborg pack but what about people from the future who arent cyborgs?
Things similar to Foreshadows headpiece, custom weapons that look more futuristic and dual pistols with a HUD display showing which ammo type they currently use by the colour of the HUD. More costumes similar to metallic that we currently have for the style to it, but with a different design would also fit here.
Actual costume pieces could include several futuristic armor style pieces similar to halo master chief armor and mass effect style armor etc.

    5) Assassin theme Pack - Players always like to create assassin themed charecters, why not help them? Things included could be new leather bodysuits (using ultra mode ofc) communicators, new emote kneeling to use the communicator, more custom weapons, holsters, quivers, knife belts piece for chest detail, belt and a pants piece with it attached to one leg similar to guild wars assassin.
Power Included either: Assassins Escape Plan - Placate power on a very long recharge and no crit afterwards. Useful for emergencies.
Locate Target: Power can be only used inside a mission and it teleports you directly next to one of the required objectives of the map and placates them (if a boss) and his allies for a few seconds, if the target is an object it wont attempt to placate. Very long recharge.
Inside Information: After clicking the power, the entire map in area becomes visable and removes the fog of war effect.

    6) Medieval themed pack - Knights, thieves, kings/queens, bards etc. All these would make a very simple themed pack to implement to the game and would be perfect to add more swords/bows to the game.

    7) Aquatic Themed Pack - There is no fishman/women style costume in game right now. You can get scales from reptilian skin but its damn near impossible to make an aquatic based charecter. Fins and gills would be a good addition, back piece could also be a giant fin down your back. Shell based costume pieces and a shell based bikini for females to bring the 'mermaid with legs' thing to CoX. Merman costume pieces could also be included. Fins cant be changed to feet for the same reason that snakes couldnt be added in that way to players but that doesnt mean we cant use other pieces on the legs. Could also include a skuba diving costume.
Power Included either: Harpoon gun - Fires a harpoon at your target, effects up to the devs
Merman Swimming - Toggle power, increases your speed whilst swimming to the same as superspeed but only applies in water.

    8) Bling pack - Not sure how popular this one would be but Im throwing it out there anyway, a pack solely dedicated to jewelry pieces and other over the top fashion accessories. Things included could be giant glasses, gold/silver teeth, gold/silver necklaces, giant clock necklace,gold/silver bracelets, piercings for ears (including animal ears), gold/silver weapons and shields. Tied in with this you could have pimp costumes as well and american rapper style things.
costume change emote involving throwing money into the air and enveloping you whilst you change.
Power Included either: In the Money - For the next 5-15 minutes your influence/infamy earned is doubled, long recharge.
Gamble - Throw a dice or draw a card, depending on the number it depends what you get buffwise. Self minor buff on a long recharge.

    8) Prehistoric Themed Pack - Caveman and dinosaur themed pack, could include several dinosaur themed piecs such as dinosaur claws, dinosaur heads and dinosaur feet. Caveman pieces are pretty much self explanatory.
Power Included: Dinosaur pet - A pet summon that does nothing in game but follows you around, similar to the vet reward pets we have now. If they gave a buff however or fought for you then they should be on a very long recharge, otherwise theres no harm in allowing them to be out permanently.

Also to add to the general plan of booster packs one more 'different' idea:

Base Items Booster Pack - More items for your SG base available. Biggest suggestion is a black market/wentworths access computer for your sg base which several players want especially to avoid the lag in these places right now.
Power Included: Base Teleporter - You can teleport from anywhere to your base but its on a very long recharge.

    ------------------------------------------

As you can see theres plenty of ideas there... I didnt realise I had so many until i started writing lol. What you think?
  19. Forwarded the general consensus of this thread to castle and positron and also linked them both to this thread. Hopefully we might see some changes soon.
  20. Looks like AR/Ice is my best bet lol that being said that video is pre-i13 isnt it? he didnt get travel supression from what i could see plus his slows actually worked lol.

Any thoughts on AR/Pain? I have a friend with a DP/Pain that does pretty well, I know AR isnt even in same class as DP but still

@Supermax - Cash really isnt the issue, I have that many charecters now money isnt really a problem. Either way I'm going to be making some form of Assault Rifle charecter, either for PvE only or PvP as well but I would love for it to work in both to some extent. I know its not gonna be anywhere near as good as some charecters like psy/em for example but in small time PvP such as arenas I wanted to see if it was passable to win like up to half of the time lol.
  21. Will look it up lol, dark i dont rate though in all honesty, darkest night detoggles, your heal is accuracy based and tar patch doesnt apply when they run out of it since the effect doesnt stick like freezing rain does. Fear and Fluffy is the only saving grace in the set i think.
  22. Damn shame

Can see why it wouldnt work off pets but it was worth a try guess would be a nice thing to use if your ally gets stalker ganked in zone.

  24. So, after getting bored with the common PvP charecters now I feel its about time to try something people have given up on (except dahjee ) and make a decent Assault Rifle PvP corruptor.

I know its gonna be damn near impossible but I think it deserves a shot, if it doesnt work out il keep it for PvE anyway so it doesnt make much difference.

The question I have is, what secondary would benefit it the most? As I see it, AR needs +damage but because of its crappy single target damage and long animations its going to need a decent armor type power or something to guard it whilst animating and stuff.

My original plan was AR/Rad, simply because AM would help a lot with endurence issues and status stuff like hold etc, whilst a -tohit slotted radiation infection gives it an ok defencive type thing to go with tough and patron armor power plus the toggles are autohit. The downside I know is the detoggles.

Also thought of AR/Storm since storm is a pretty solid set either way.

What are everyone elses thoughts on a secondary for AR?
  25. See im a fan of invul pre-i13.

I used to PvP regularly on my invul/ss tanker for a couple of years before that hit then I moved to US from EU so lost the charecter. I am curious as to why you put invul above elec though? I hear different comparisons with this but usually the majority say elec is better. Im guessing its to do with -end protection and energise giving regen boost almost perma without sets.
Invul I couldnt guess why it would be better other than +hp and some defence power, but since defence is borked i doubt it makes it better than elec.
