Actually, i have once hit a blaster with time bomb
had to cap defence to plant, then teleport at the correct time which is a real pain in the butt to figure out, but its not as hard once you figure it out in pve, in fact in pvp its more effective using it that way than it is trip mine because of the untouchable status you mentioned.
However, its incredibley difficult to do without practice and even then, one miss with tp ruins your day

From what I understand it is possible with a traps charecter to double up with acid mortars, now once you place an acid mortar i have also heard it will only fire one grenade per mob in pve until it wears off.
In PvP would it stack grenades on the same target and if so how much is it possible to get in terms of -resists and -defence?
With just -20% it seems weaker than other sets in comparison for debuffs, i understand this is likely because of the other powers, but I just wanted to check that this is really all you can get on one target. -
Its posts like the one above thats part of the reason people dont play it. If something is obviously flawed, would it not make sense to fix it?
Players complain about the lack of end game content, well pvp is a superb end game thing to do, if it works and because it involves players, the content never really gets old and its challenging everyday, where as once you work a TF/SF once you complete it, its the same thing when you do it again and get boring very fast.
Now back to the actual issues, for me, whilst the travel supression is a big pain in the butt, I can also see why it was implemented. However I do feel its too severe and slows down the entire match considerably, what made CoX unique was the speed it was possible to fight, everything has slowed down now and whilst this means you have more time to do things, half the fun of it is now gone.
The Status supression (as i call it) of control powers needs to really be sorted out, I understand completely why they were nuked in such a heavy way, but the effects are too heavy to make them any use at all for players that arent controller or dominator.
Example here: you have a claws charecter with a hold on epic powers, now this hold does 2s hold unslotted, whilst eviscerate takes 2.33s to animate so it wouldnt even benefit you at all. Now you waste your slots and buff this up to 4s hold, yes you get one attack in if you are very fast, you get the slightest lag and there out again, and this is even considering that they have no resists to holds which if they do will put you at a pointless stage again. Combined with the cooldown and endurence usage, the powers are completly useless unless they have a -fly or -jump on them such as web grenade.
Now as i mentioned the old status effects were indeed too long, especially since they negate armor effects etc, so why not just change them so they do not negate armor effects but half it for dominator and controller only, have the hold extended to around 4s unslotted for regular AT's and 6s unslotted for controller/dominator? Resist effects would still be applied as normal.
I understand controller in particular would lose a lot of damage, but controllers arent really designed to be an attacking class, there more supporting anyway, and in a group a hold such as mentioned would still be lethal and dominators wouldnt lose much damage and would actually be able to control. Where as regular archetypes have a reason to choose holds etc again and are not overly benefiting from the complete negation of armor and resists would still be needed.
Defence seems broken to me at the minute as well, its a difficult one to work on because the balance has to be just right. Currently a lot of builds have focussed accuracy and/or tactics and can completley negate all defence even at soft cap.
One thing I have never understood is why defence has 45% to softcap where as Resists has 90%? This only makes it more difficult to balance because each % of defence = 2% resists apparently, now you get a 45% defence Super Reflex charecter and stand them next to a Invul Tanker at 90% smash and lethal resists, in pvp the defence charecter will die first everytime, why? because to hit is way too easy to stack. Charecters designed for -Resists usually can negate anywhere between 30% and 60% resists, which makes them hit a lot heavier, but 30% and 60% off defence means you get hit almost every time.
Solution: lower to hit boosts in pvp, just dont nuke them to make them pointless so we get unhittable charecters again!
Standardising defence with resists would also benefit players and allow them to understand easier. Perhaps allow defence to scale to 95% and increase defence gains, but change how it works so 1% defence - 1% resist, the reason i said 95% defence, not 90% is because currently at 45% defence your supposed to have a 5% chance to be hit before enhancements, now at 90% resists for tanker you take 10% of damage before buffs, theoretically.
All you would be changing really by having 95% defence instead of 45% is how the window looks summerising your powers. Where as a slight reduction in to hit boosts would benefit defence greatly.
Im pretty sure theres some other things to mention but my brain hurts now from all those numbers lol. -
so in question to the acid mortar doubling up, if you can get two out at once, would it be possible to get double the debuffs? and how much is it actually possible to stack on one target?
Im thinking about trying a traps in pvp, but if you can only get one mortar per mob as was mentioned earlier, one grenade wouldnt really cut it. -

hi guys,
I recently rolled the awesomeness that is widow, and i have reached level 20 and got my 2nd costume slot from cap (im aware you can get one at level 10 from missions as well but not done that yet)
However on my 2nd costume slot i was wanting to unlock capes, now i spoke to my first contact, and did a couple of missions and unlocked kalinda, and still have no luck, so can anyone tell me where i need to go/what i need to do to unlock capes for my 2nd costume please? -
to be honest a lot of the reasons people are leaving the EU servers is because there tired of the lack of respect they get from NCsoft.
EU are always treated as second rate citizens in terms of update times, releases and in general.
As long as EU servers is kept seperate from North American servers (which was a bad idea from day 1) we will continue to be made 2nd best however i also cannot see them merging the two because a lot of EU players are getting tired of being shafted here and are just moving to the american servers anyway which is just getting NCsoft more cash since they arent offering transfers, which is unfair, but thats life.
I for one have moved from EU to North America now and im much happier there. Ok the server still shuts down the same time, but at least its not ignored >.> -
hmm im kind of worried this was some form of preparation update for i17s ultra mode and this will appear on a lot more people when it goes live.... I hope not but at this stage it wouldnt surprise me.

Theres a lot of brutes that want to tank, but many of them actually dont bother to learn what tanking is and go damage instead and mindlessly run from one mob to next to keep fury. Whilst fury is good, its not a nessessary thing for efficient tanking (i know arguements will say more damage - more agro lol but a mindless attacking brute doesnt wait for health to recover before charging on, much like scrapperlock)
A lot of charecters can tank, it just depends how there played and how there set out. As i mentioned above, ive played tanks for over 3 years on EU account, and Fire is by far the best attack set for agro management on melee toons because of the AoEs plus each fire DoT effect adds more agro. Armor sets just depends on whatever you can get the highest stats with usually, unless its stone or dark, stone has slowed effect from granite you need to learn to counter and dark is stupidly endurence heavy without efficient slotting. -
The best alternate tankers ive played are:
fire/stone brute (which is great with agro holding because of fire AoEs as well as taunt and stone armor is good to tank with if you know how to use it)
Fire/SR scrapper with pool power taunts (not as effective as brute above because the taunt still needs accuracy on it, but it still works and its sometimes tempremental as with all defence sets theres a buttload of -defence mobs out there)
Finally, I actually have a tanking widow, i was suprised how well this turned out tbh but it works in the same way as the scrapper, you need to pool taunts to have any attempt of agro, and mix it with aoe attacks, again its defence based though so its tempremental.
Ive been playing tanks for 3 years and rarely venture away from them but these are the ones ive tried and worked best. -
I still think EMP Arrow is pretty terrible especially for a Tier 9 power. Endurence drained fully, for a hold and some endurence drain is pretty terrible let alone the long recharge time on top of that.

I know what you mean about this, yesterday I went to try make some level 25 IO's and there were only 40 scientific theories on there, and the last person paid 1 mill for one, thats a lot for something thats not even worth more than 1k in a store lol.
I dont think its to do with the bug however, i think its the shock on the market after double exp weekend, a lot more active players there than there normally is, and a lot of people starting dual pistols charecters who will want it slotted etc.
I reckon if you give it a few days the market will generally recover, especially since people are going to be selling more stuff at the minute thinking there going to get more cash for it. As of 10 minutes before server shutdown for maintenence, i was having no problems getting the salvage i needed that yesterday wasnt there. -

kk thanks, stupid updater really needs to be fixed though at some point. Its really annoying. I had the same problem a few weeks ago trying to get onto the EU servers.

ok severe problem lol, i renamed my folder so it has no spaces, but now the stupid pain in the butt updater wants to reinstall, even when im opening it from the folder :/
There anything i can do other than having to wait for it to run again? its stupid since the files are already there but it refuses to detect them -.-
