I heard this from a few players on broadcast in cap too, it seems your not the only one. As well as this tailors are broken, pretty much the main two things in i17 other than the new mission arcs are bugged already.
What a great use of test server lol. -
i tested another two times to be sure, definately crashing everytime.
I asked in broadcast in cap if anyone was having same issue and a lot of people said there getting crashs with it too. The costume selection half loads up, then before your costumes are displayed you get a crash report box.
You would have thought with the extra testing time, something so obvious would have been checked since there were tailor changes with tails being added. Im guessing this is whats causing it since nothing else should have been changed.
Very frustrated because animated tails was the only thing in i17 that actually interests me in the slighest since i have a crappy laptop and cant run ultra mode anyway. Instead i get more lag when logging in, and a handful of client crashes in under 10 minutes.
Not impressed, this is why they have a test server. -
ok after been on servers for two minutes, ive already client crashed three times, once going from sharkhead to cap, then once i loaded in again i managed to get from cap to tailor, and once i clicked on tailor i got an instant crash log.
Logged in again and clicked tailor, again client crash. Another craptacularly tested update? -
Quote:Only semi-serious. There are quite a few things that were pointed out back in Closed Beta that, as of the last patch to Test, still hadn't been addressed. Things like the waaaay to tiny font for enhancement levels on the enhancement screen, or losing items already in your Auction Inventory due to the new GUI, and it telling you that the slots are full.
I'm honestly hoping that that stuff, and other stuff, really is in the Live patch, and that they're testing it.
Oh hell... i really hope they fix the loss of items bug... i still had a gladiators strike pvp IO on sale that i didnt pick up -
Well I will say at the minute the game is fine now only the 'hardcore' farmers are in the MA building, MA was an addon but it was becoming the entire game.
Whats the point of having 17 issues worth of content and pve stuff if people are only going to play one badly managed issue?
If i17 brings back farming to the extent it was before, theres my sub gone. Found a link that pretty much sums up my thoughts about AE....

Its not that lethal damage is bad in pvp, its the same as every other damage set since i13. Its the fact that claws has ranged attacks like focus and shockwave, the damage is very low because of it, stupidly low in fact considering someone can just pick up sharks and hit a ranged crit anyway.
The -res proc can be slotted in any -defence powers but if you do insist on trying this for pvp, dont say i didnt warn you. -
Quote:Fully agree, whenever I play now I always get people asking if im male or female irl, in all honesty i just stopped answering now because the instant you refuse to use ventrillo, your usually shouted at and called all sorts of stuff lol.[ QUOTE ]

Umm... k.
Not that I disagree... but what brought this on? This thread is a non sequitir.
[/ QUOTE ]This thread was brought on by a desire for fun. It was my only motivation. I think it will be a fun thread, and it has been already. Besides, after hearing for ten thousand times in the forums that most of the girls are really guys, I wanted to disagree. Most don't seem to be to me, or at least a big percentage don't seem to be.
[/ QUOTE ]Well experience is all that counts. In my experience its mostly guys trying to rip people off. The ones I have found out to be real women/girls tend to have issues and bring them into the game.
[/ QUOTE ]A lot of girls won't let on that they're girls in-games due to the treatment they'll receive (or at least the fear of it). Just before I took my last hiatus from the game I had a guy hit on me in-game, which was a seriously creepy experience (far more so than I would have expected).
From my experience on Freedom, most people really don't care in the slightest what gender you are- unfortunately just a few people can greatly over shadow the masses.
In all honesty I couldnt give a damn what people want to believe but id rather not have people randomly abusing me because I refuse to do exactly as they say.
Two times now i have spoken to sg on vent, two times i got a bunch of weirdos asking for msn, pics, facebook and phone number etc. These guys seriously dont understand the term 'no' and its also the reason ive left SGs in the past and had to block half the SG members lol.
It is funny, but at same time its kind of sad that people can be so closed minded.
That being said, Ive also known people who say there female too, yet are blatently obviously men. One told me he was female at first, then after speaking a bit said he was male and said he plays females 'because hes not gay and would prefer to watch a women from behind all day rather than a man'.
Another who added me, was actually using the pic of a girl i knew irl lol, they had just stolen it off her facebook. When I mentioned her name, i was blocked ingame and on msn lol.
How you dress in game though doesnt mean you are one sex or the other though, some people say there is but thats what the /ignore command is for -
well the fact of the matter is there isnt going to be that many combinations, if any that can make offensive images in there static position, im not asking for the designs to be able to be moved, just to apply more than one in there standard positions.
If there is a conflict, stopping one piece being used with another isnt that hard. -
lol -.- you do realise its probably gonna be banned for advertising a farm?
-
lol im guessing that means this has been asked before.
-
which one would win in pvp if they were the same powersets, played at same skill level?
I heard both sides of story from players in game, some telling me brutes would win because they would always be in melee, building fury, whilst others say scrapper because crits are more reliable. -

Quote:One of the things that stood in the way of allowing multiple layers on the costumes was the possibility of people coming up with questionable or suggestive designs through the creative combination of multiple layers and chest details. The amount of work it would take to vet every conceivable combination to avoid this kind of behavior boggles the mind.
>
Hmm with the designs available I sincerely doubt you would be able to design anything extremely offensive, other than the possibility of using the chest letters to spell out profanity.
That could be sorted by simply still allowing only one letter per chest piece, since it would take a long time to sort through all the people that would do it and it would take a long time for the system to be made to find out whats profanity and what isnt on costumes. It would mean coding an actual letter to a design, which would mean a huge change coding wise and then the profanity filter could be added.
It would be easier to just limit that one design....
That being said i just realised you wouldnt be moving letters anyway, so they would still overlap each other and make you unable to use them anyway. -
Sigh.. twelve years old and draws better than me lol.
Fantastic workyou should definately share more of it
-
Hey guys,
A decent feature that would help in costume creation is if you could place more than one detail onto a selected costume piece.
For instance you have a white glove, you place a red artic design on it, but over the top of that you also place a golden coloured blend design.
Effectively you get three colours on one costume piece area, two colours is a little limiting currently. This idea could be put in game simply by bringing up another detail box underneath the first one, should you change the detail on the first one from 'none'
Of course you are going to get people trying to put 5000 layers on the piece like this, hence why i think it should be limited to 3 designs per costume piece.
It just stops a lot of charecters looking so monochrome with little effort, you are still going to get it sure, but it adds a whole new feature with customisation which the players love with very little effort on the devs part since all the pieces are already in game, it just need a minor UI change to accept more designs. -
Quote:Its not an aoe set, why do we need another set thats exactly the same as others with a different glow? Energy is unique as it is, leave it alone. If you dont like Energy because it has rubbish AoEs, dont play it lol.First of all, Ive got a 50 tank, brute, 2 blasters and stalker that all use EM, so when I talk about the set, I'm talking from experience not mids.
Secondly, nobody said the set is unplayable. We're saying it's sub par when compared to the sets it competes against. And it is, especially on the aoe side, which is more valuable in far more situations in this game, than its top notch single target ability is. That is why we are suggesting a buff to its aoe ability. So I'm not sure how you can argue this change is 'stupid and pointless and wouldn't do the set any good'... lol.
Quote:In regard to SS, it sounds like you should take your own advice and play a set to fifty before commenting on it. Because in terms of SS, if you nerfed rage in the manner you discusse, SS would be hands down the weakest set in the game. Why? Because SS flat out relies on rage to simply do damage on par with competing sets. The only edge rage gives SS is the to hit bonus. And while that bonus is nice in a few instances in pve, and allows for lower acc slotting, you pay for it with the rage crash which is at best annoying and at worst a pain on your blue bar. So if the devs did decide to nerf rage, they would need to rework the entire set.
Quote:And finally, most of the sets get lots of play. Obviously the aoe heavy sets get more play because again, aoe is more valuable than single target ability in this game becuase you are almost always facing more than one foe. Thats partly why SS (though as I said earlier, ss also benefits from being a very popular comic book power), elec and fire are so popular, and even SD which offers a great aoe nuke to pair with any alternate set. That's a big reason why we are arguing to buff EM's aoe abilities. Sure people played EM before the nerf, but that was primarily becuase it was so dominant in the old pvp format, which is now gone, along with any advantage EM had on competitors.
Again theres nothing wrong with energy melee at all, if you dont like single target hits, play an AoE based set and stop moaning for 'equality' because its talk like that, that got us i13 lolpvp. -
They are both good powers indeed, but i do leave out eviscerate because it actually lowers my DPS rather than raises it due to the attack time and amount of targets it hits. All the other claws attacks animate in under a second, so make for decent dps because of stacking them very quickly.
Eviscerate slows this whole process down, as does spin but spin hits more targets so keeps dps the same or more overall where as eviscerate commonly just hits two or three targets with its long animation time which is why i leave it.
Ive heard people actually complain spin is overpowered on these forums before, I only hear eviscerate is underpowered lol. -
Defenders suck for damage, they always have, and always will unless your kinetics using fulcrum shift on some big mobs and hitting damage cap, even then a blaster is still going to hit more damage than you just by hitting build up and aim.
If its any form of damage you want, stay away from defender since even if with the new buff in i17, its still hardly any different. Plus it also removes itself when in a team anyway.
The biggest advantage of playing Archery on any AT though is the fact that Rain Of Arrows recharges so quickly. When slotted you can get the attack once every mob and on a blaster that does significant damage, on defender its minor so you will still take a long time to kill even with radiation since you will find a lot of the time the target you debuff either gets killed first, or runs outside of the mob.
I myself raised a kin/Archery and a rad/ice before to 50 so i know both sets inside out on defender. Defender is always one of those classes you want to be good, but never actually gets there.
If you plan on teaming with just plant/rad controllers, then i suggest you either look into a scrapper or a tanker, or a blaster. Controllers are squishy but they can stop people moving, doing so however gives them crappy damage. To make an effective team you should work on filling these holes with your charecter, either tanking wise with a tank orientated scrapper or a full tanker to take some of the damage away from them or a blaster to get them killed before they die.
If you play a scrapper tanking, you will probably die a lot leveling and unless set out right, will lose agro a lot anyway but you will deal damage and still be able to tank a bit. Blaster you will find that you will be the first one the mobs run at because you will get the most hate so you should practice running
Its up to you what you play but defender really wouldnt be needed in a team of controllers as a rad. -
Quote:Can hope for that but I think its unlikely.I like your answer to the first one. As for the second one, one or more of those characters could be punctuation... "server-list" is 11 characters.
new teaming system
one server-list
...please?
Think it was more than likely the 'New superpowers' suggestion or something very similar to that. -
Quote:Little bit harder to decryptify this one lol but il have a go anyway....
As fun as this is for me, I'm going to have to take a break from the forums for a bit. For starters, I need to catch up on 15 pages worth of questions/ideas/comments, because I really will read everything everyone wrote. Secondly, the next couple weeks are crunch time because of **** ****** ** *****. So give me some time.
**** ****** ** *****
work before an issue
No idea what the first word could be... was thinking 'time' originally but it doesnt make sense.
Its something marketing needs to do before an issue release... hmmm lol.
I have to say though, im finding it quite fun trying to figure these out.
Work makes sense, but not sure why he would block that out... -
Quote:For an experienced tanker its easily sorted yes, for a noob though its the point you think 'oh ****'The debuff is easily manageable, not just manageable and if picking another set gives you tools as powerful as AAO and SC then I say go for it. I see quite a few shield/ss running around though. Well at least relative to the number of shield tanks you see, and the number of tanks you see period.
As for tools like SC and AAO, they are good yes, but shield is not the best tanker set for anything other than defence and defence isnt that reliable to tank with until its softcapped anyway, even then heavy -defence mobs can flatten you in seconds if you dont have any purples.
There is a lot of -defence mobs out there too, all guns for instance are -defence, that alone counts for most of the NPCs in game.
Shield/SS has died down a bit, you do still see them but nowhere near as often as you did when shield first came out. Your much more likely to see some form of Elec now since its the new fave of month. Next will be kinetic melee and so forth. -
Quote:Thats why theres more than one mission in the game, so people arent forced to play how others want them to, running one farm map isnt exactly a choice is it when theres nothing else happening. People also dont pay $15 a month to run exploits for very long either. Its not me telling you how to play the game, its the actual rules in the EULA.TL;DR
but since you seemed to type so much, let me just say, people don't spend $15 a month to do what you want them too.
Quote:What about the PvP community that was shattered when PvP 2.0 came out? Do they give a **** about content in the PvE world? Nope. I'd be willing to bet that the 10 best PvPers on any given day hardly play PvE at all, and would destroy the so called "PvE Gurus" through any PvE TF no contest.
Your comment about PvPers running PvE tfs better is laughable too, id like to see an entire team of x/psi or x/energy blasters run a TF better than a regular team, i really would.
Quote:And instead of taking the time to show these new folks the "correct way" (lulz) to PvE, you decide to ***** up a storm and morally justify it on a forum.
Level 1-20 they should figure out half the things the still dont know at 50 because of AE. That is whats destroying the game, that and idiots like you trying to use PvP to justify destroyed PvE.
PvP was never the main point of this game, it wasnt even in the game when it was released and was never a huge portion of the game for a majority of players. However the bitter ones thats left come to the forums to whine and distort the rest of the players opinion with there lazyness.
I PvP myself and I dont mind taking extra time to level my charecters rather than being infested with level 50 idiots who cant figure out what enhancements are.
Quote:Running the same content from 1-50 is extremely boring for the 25th time. Some people like to farm their next 50s because they want to use them for TFs and PvP.
Quote:There is a minority of newbs who use AE, who NCsoft could have done a numerous amount of things to limit them using AE, but they didn't.
Helping out a new player is one thing, but you shouldnt be doing it with whilst trying to do the most difficult content in the game.
NCSoft can do nothing to the noobs in AE without hurting the vets using it to raise there charecters too, its because they havent figured this out yet why we are still getting half finished patches in the first place.
Quote:Farming isn't very relative in arguing against AE because farming will always take place. For awhile it just looked liked *gasp* the majority of people enjoyed farming. Sure, it was being done at ridiculous rates, but again, take that little finger of yours and point it back at yourself, because you should be worried about "numero uno". Whether the newbs learn at lvl 1, or at 50, they will learn, it's just a number. I've met retarded 50s who have been playing since beta.
Thats the way it should be.
What goes on with AE is way too far, you might as well not have a leveling system it breaks it that much.
Yes you do still get retarded 50s from beta, but nowhere near as many of those as you get AE noobs running around, stop trying to make it sound like there arent that many because there clearly is and denying that is just making more and more vets leave.
In my SG alone 4 people were talking about AE farming earlier this week, saying if it makes a comeback in i17 there subscription is gone. I have to agree, mines included with it.
Also the 'majority' of players you say that enjoy farms simply do not exist either, people do farms to level, not because they enjoy them. You would have to be braindead to find the same mission 1000 times enjoyable. Perhaps you find it enjoyable, but thats not the majority im afraid.
Quote:I must also assume that all of your PvE skilled pals just happened to have quit, and limited the teams you could get. That your leadership skills are null and communication skills in game are even worse.
Insulting players is also a bit of a worthless tactic isnt it if your trying to prove AE is worth running exp? Your doing nothing but cheapen your own arguement. Besides that if its just me, then why are there so many people stating the same facts on the forums whilst the AE farmers such as yourself claim its easy to get teams outside despite not having tried to do it themselves?
I do run teams, or try to, frequently, however unless enough members of my sg are online to join, you have little chance of recruiting elsewhere because everyone wants easymode 50. If you do get a member, they leave within a mission to go look for a farm team again although since the last nerf this isnt the case anymore, thank god.
At least before AE you had a choice whether to take part in farming, now you have no choice whatsoever because its ridiculously hard to get a team going outside of AE.
Quote:AE was nerfed, why are all these self righteous thugs still QQing?
If exp was gone from AE it would save a lot more time working on more important things in the game, like some more content for 50's and a PvP system that isnt laughable.
Ironic, your arguement that you raise your charecters for PvP in this broken system through farming, yet in reality its farming thats part of the reason
PvP isnt being looked at in the first place since the devs are busy elsewhere sorting out the newest exploits. -
Quote:Castle already stated ages ago on forums that he wasnt sure if SS would keep perma rage, but he hasnt nerfed it yet so theres hope yet. The fact its survived so long surprises me in all honesty. They've proven time and time again that they're willing to do this, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
Usually when the devs want to feed the nerfhammer they feed it within a couple of months but SS has been the same for at least a year now. -
Quote:I did role one ages ago but the reason you dont see it is because of the rage debuff, -defence really kills shields a lot.Well, I commonly see Fire Melee or Electrical Melee paired with Shields.Just last night when I rolled upt he WP/EM Tanker and went and did the Sewers.I was on a 7 man team that has 2 other tankers. Both Shield, and both Elec Melee.
I havnt see any SD/SS Tankers for a while.
It is manageable but its easier to just pick a different set
Elec melee is popular at the minute with shield, because of the teleport powers which i dont understand since lightning rod has a stupid recharge for its damage anyway and shield charge isnt any better.
/fire all the way for AoE damage -
Quote:I stopped reading here.I want to play Energy Melee for a Tanker, but if every other set beats it out for AoE I dont see a point.I perfer to have decent, to massive AoE for my Melee Builds.
Energy is not an AoE based set and I wouldnt have it any other way. Energy is my second favorite attack set on tankers now, it used to be my favorite pre-i13 because of energy damage. SS being 2nd at the time and now first.
If anything its SS that needs changing, Rage buffs power permenantly and doesnt affect resist based sets like elec, fire or dark at all.
Energy is usually my PvP first choice, Build up > Energy transfer > Total Focus is great spike damage, and the best there is on tankers. SS however has the advantage in current pvp simply because it has a range attack and perma rage with knockout blow.
Energy has its own specialisation, which is good it makes it unique. Dont knock it until you have tried it to 50. You cant judge a powerset you have only seen in mids, which a lot of people seem to do.
Even in PvE, although it has its lack of AoEs, taunt and whirling hands is more than enough to hold agro combined with taunt aura. I know, I did it for 3 years on union lol and got team invites from people the second I logged on because I was in that much of a demand, it is in no way gimped like some people claim it to be and the -hp part of energy transfer is a minor annoyance yes, but since when does that much -hp bother a decent tanker with SO's or IO's? Never once have I died because of it.
The set is aimed at doing more damage to the Alpha targets such as AV's, EB's and bosses, not at taking down full mobs. Fire excels at that however you should try that.
Also if you did change it, it wouldnt just affect tankers, the same set is also on brutes and stalkers too (not sure about scrappers, never play them) Those two would also get a remodification and Energy is still one of the brutes best sets too. Stalker not so much since the Energy Transfer nerf but you still see them running around.
I should mention I have played a few energy tankers to 50, in fact upon just checking now, I actually have all the possible combinations of energy to level 50 except for elec, which I havent tried yet since Ive moved to american servers.
The hardest hit by -hp was fire and dark, both heavily heal reliant. However this can be said about SS using rages -defence debuff with ice or shield. Its part of the set, you work around it however you can. Tankers can perform wonderful things with any build, if you know how to use them.
Ice is the most gimped set in tankers abilties by far. Even Dual blades despite needing most of the powers in the set could still deal damage with combos. Dark has its -tohit, fire has DoT and AoE heaven, axe and mace are both average sets at best but they have been buffed since i played them, stone melee is basically SS without rage but higher standard damage and slightly better control, and SS its heavy damage alround because of perma rage whilst energy has single target damage in bursts higher than any other.
Each attack set specialises in something, and as they are its only ice I think thats underperforming, everything else works great if used right. Frozen Aura is a laughable power in any level, the fact its tier 9 is just an insult.
In short: Energy is fine as it is. Any changes to it would be stupid and pointless and hurt the powerset rather than do it good.
If you want to change any tanker set, it should be SS with rage, it makes all the other sets pointless despite the fact without it, it is poor but who skips a perma +damage power that high?
It should not be able to be perma simple as, make a 10s or 20s gap after set bonuses to put it in line with other sets.
The fact that a lot of the population of tankers is SS or Elec tells you something.
I dont think ive seen anyone without a concept playing an /ice tanker high level since I began the game. Its just a poor set, the slows dont do enough to justify such terrible damage and a useless tier 9 power. Frozen Aura is the single worst power in game, it needs changing to a long recharge hold or something not a sleep to make the set worthwhile.
