  1. so basically a resistance shield combined with a damage aura but the aura only pulses when you're actually attacked?
  2. don't sell yourself short. make it def to all including psy. electric has it too, why not ea.
  3. I wouldn't mind the repulse power. Hell, add some damage and a stun component and make it into a mini-nuke on a long timer.

    60s recharge
    11.856 endurance
    15 foot radius
    10 target max

    1.0 scalar smashing damage
    0.64 scalar energy damage

    60% chance for Mag3 stun
    1 low powered repulse tick (don't want them flying across the map, just a few feet)

    hehe, that would be fun.

  5. I've got no problem with creating guides that give tactics and build advice to make a set play better. More power to you for writing such a guide. I think you always have good advice for making EA work well. I don't particularly agree with your opinion of the set's power in relation to others, but I've never had a problem with your straight up build and tactical advice, which I think are rather good.

    If your guides purpose is to give advice on how to make an EA brute perform the best, I think you can do it. I think it would be more informative and helpful to a new /EA user if all the... colorful discussion was kept out of here, keeping the advice to noise ratio high.
  6. good description of the sets and the powers. I've never been comfortable with the shunning of Shadow Maul and Midnight Grasp that the majority of Brutes do, but the advice for those powers is consistent with general Brute knowledge.

    I already see things that most people are going to disagree with or argue with you over your phrasing in your EA section. I'm sure there will be plenty more for people to disagree with in your Tactics section.

    That's understandable. The lack of independent (from heroes and Arachnos) content that is truly villainous is still disappointing.

    I don't believe that takes away from the merits of what they are adding though. It's just not the toy that has been asked for.

    The "Join the Midnight Squad" section sound hero only, but Cimorera is pretty clearly for both sides.

    I was going to compose a PM to you with links to old questions and guides to be moved. Here's the thing. I had to stop almost immediately after starting. Why? I had added the links for every single thread on the last 5 pages of this forum.

    I really think you can delete the last 200 threads without even looking.

    If you do really want a list of questions to move and quides to contemplate deleting, i'll go back and do it but for my money, I'd just nuke the last 200-300 threads from orbit.
  14. plus, the CoH dev team doesn't necessarily know anything about the other projects that Cryptic has going. Getting them up to speed on stuff would be like training new employees. It makes the most sense for everyone to keep the CoH devs with the project and have them move to NCSoft.

    There are two examples I'm thinking of.

    1. threads that aren't guides, but questions that would have been better placed in an AT forum.

    2. threads that are so damn old they have no value as advice in the current game. These are posts which have essentially become snapshots of a different game.
  18. sorta. animation changes coupled with the loss of 6slotting for damage and hasten has resulted in new, and important, additions to the attack chains of Claws Scrappers everywhere.

    Slash now has the second best single target DPS in the set, right between Focus and Strike. It's a vital part of a Claws Scrapper's arsenal after its animation was lowered.

    Follow Up's damage buff is now more significant, even at higher levels due to the inability to add more damage slots. Adding 37.5% damage when you already have 266% damage isn't that big a deal. Today, it's a much bigger deal. l

    Sitting afk for 2 hours while you wait for the next ambush (placed at 30 year intervals for your safety!!) is extremely annoying, tedious, and a huge waste of time.

    When the hero respec was first on test, it was nail-bitingly tough. It was also fun. You could barely keep up with the spawns unless you used a lot of teamwork. But it was too hard for some so it got nerfed to the snorefest it is today.

    which, of course, they had to do as it never made sense to make a respec trial that requires teamwork and good builds in order to earn the right to respec your possible crappy build.

  21. Hey, I didn't see this anywhere else in the thread. Would this be an acceptable solution to allowing various levels of feedback in the suggestion forum.

    Make every suggestion thread also a Poll.

    If someone would normally respond with a "yes", "/signed", or a "no", they can simply vote in the poll.

    If someone wants to critique and add their constructive comments, they can reply to the thread.

    If someone isn't getting many replies but a lot of "NO" votes, the OP could reply to the thread asking for someone to elaborate on their disagreeing vote.




    Does that sound feasible? Both types of comments get to be left and both positive and negative opinions get to be expressed. No one needs to clutter up the thread with one word (or 367 word) responses that add nothing to the suggestion.

    that's the whole point, my friend.

    Everyone's trying to figure out what all the NPC's have been up to that caused all these changes in the timeline. Your question, the real question, gets answered through the new content in Issue 11 when our characters find all this stuff out and respond to it. For now though, the speculation concerns what set up this crazy turn of events.
