I work from 3-11 EST tomorrow, but you guys are more than welcome to play without me with what I have for Kismet. If I can find Summer or Cleaver tonight, I can already RP why. Otherwise, you can just consider him studying. For school or for arcane knowledge, either way is peachy for me.
-
I think Sam and Kismet in the same room would be a bad thing at the moment...
-
I have *a* character on Freedom, but none of my characters on Virtue are that rich red side. Blue side, just a notch above, but not red. I think *might* have that much infamy if I bankrupted all of my villains on Virtue. That being said, I don't really play my Freedom character ever and he's only level 4, so having 150 million on him would be kinda pointless.
Sorry. -
If you've had no experience with it, do a Storm character. After you know what you're doing with it, it's a breeze.

Anyone else catch that? -
So, there's a high likelihood that I'm going to be heading back to my house within the next couple of days. I'm going to be without air conditioning, but I'll have power now. The plus side of this is I'll actually have stable internet, unlike I'm experiencing now which is not getting a signal on average of every 3 minutes.
Also, I work overnight on Saturday which means I have until about 10pm EST completely open. If I take a shower and whatnot before we start, I'll have until 10:30. Still, 2.5 to 3 hours is better than none. I don't know what next weeks schedule looks like. -

All of them. We're way too powerful. NERF DEFENDERS!

I always use my long recharge buffs on a simple system of who needs it. RA's down and you're running low on Endurance? AB. Getting hit a lot as a Blaster or Scrapper? Frostwork. If your a SK or someone who's beneath the level of the team? Fort. However, for short recharge buffs, everyone is getting them.

I see a new power set already... -
Honestly from a primary position, each offer support from a different perspective. Cold Dom have debuffs, Storm have controlled chaos, FF have some crowd control, Empathy for healing and buffing, etc. The secondaries offer different things but the least "100% support" secondary is Archery. Not saying it doesn't completely offer support, it just offers the least of the other options.
I've found all my Defenders to be support, but my Storm/Dark and Storm/Sonic have been my favorites even though I've felt like I've contributed with all of them. -
Okay, attempt number 2. Any critiques would be appreciated. I got rid of most of the random grab bag of procs and started to focus myself a little bit more.

Umm... to those who didn't manage to make it tonight, a lot has happened. If you want to RP with Kismet any time before the next session, feel free to shoot me a tell to my global at any time - @Deertayorkay
I think everyone has that anyhow. -
I work tomorrow, off today and Thursday.

My goal with my TA/Ice *smiles* -
On Triumph, less than an hour ago, I was on my Earth/Storm Controller, who was only level 9 at the time. We were doing a level 10 mission for a Fire/? Tanker (with a scrapper). The Tanker was new to the game (though evidently played other MMOs), the scrapper is a gfriend of mine that has yet to see me on one of my Storm characters.
So we entered the mission, me doing my usual dance of mitigation via Stone Cages with my target in LoS while the rest of the mob being behind a corner, holding higher enemies, and actually utilizing Gale with a bit of O2 and Quicksand tossed around for flavor.
What was the end product? Well, first he was complaining because I knocked them out of his damage aura. Very shortly after, my gfriend made the comment about great locking down, to which he agreed. Then a few mobs later, he said that he wanted to make a character with Gale.
It seems I've converted another to Storm-dome. Welcome and enjoy! -

The difference is that when you use Blazing Arrow rather than an origin power, you've taken a use of one of your best single-target attacks and used it for zero extra damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correction, on this. You deal damage, the extra damage from the Oil Slick Arrow from being ignited. So in technicalities, it does work for damage. What your argument should be is this: Blazing Arrow does X damage, Tech/Magic Origin does X Damage, and OSA does X Damage. Blazing Arrow's Damage > Tech/Magic Origin Damage. Not sure where OSA lines up with those two, but you're getting more bang for your buck with origin powers than BA.
However, it doesn't particularly matter to me which is used since I don't have a TA/A defender, and might never do that. My point would be informing people who use BA for igniting them, point out that origins can do it and they have faster activation times, but it only matter with people that are Tech/Magic origins.
There's pros and cons of using each. Informing players of options and allowing people to play something without an energy attack in their secondary to ignite OSA and still be able to ignite it themselves and thus be able to solo more effectively. I still like my TA/Ice Defender. -
I'm on as much as I can be, as most of you having my globals should know. You're welcome to poke me at any time if you want to RP. Assuming I'm not leading a team, in a TF, or in another RP, I'd be down for some outside of the group RP.
-
Most of my characters are open for change, I've just not RP'd with them enough for it.
-
I had fun. Thanks for holding the event.
I was playing as Ruby Necromancer. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's fine; we're talking differences in playstyle.

I remember seeing this somewhere. Thanks for pointing it out again. -
Something Defendery that you may want to look into is Thermal. Sure, it's not a Defender set, but it has heals, debuffs, shields, rez, mez protection, and you can either put it on a Corruptor for attacks (and high damage) or Controller with Controls which you can do AoE Controls with damage.
Just something that's probably not going to be suggested by anyone else. -
I think Turbo's given up. Then again, I don't particularly care.
I like Cold and FF equally, for different reasons. I've stated my reasons and stand behind them as I've yet to see something that really sways me away from either set. They are both fun and enjoyable to me, and that's all I really care about. -
In my honest opinion, if played correctly any Defender power set can be the most potent thing for a team. Granted, the power set needs to be understood by the person playing it and capitalize on its assets, even the ones some don't understand such as Tornado or Entangling Arrow. Sure, my TA/Ice might of skipped Entangling Arrow, but I know that it's useful and will gladly admit that. However, since I'm taking all but 1 Secondary, I wanted a bit looser of a build to try to fit Stamina and a travel power in. As such I took out Entangling arrow.

Welcome to Virtue!
If you manage to not find teams (which can happen), you're welcome to check the following channels: Virtue LFG Alpha and Virtuebadges09. Naturally, each one has in their name what they are specialized towards; however, you can find TFs and the like on both so they are handy to have.
You're also welcome to poke me any time at @Deertayorkay
