I'd love to say Storm, but I'm not actually sure. While he is my go-to guy for new stuff, he's still redside on his day-job roll, and I don't think I want him to start the transition until he's back on the right side. Story-wise, he isn't quite at the controls at the moment, so it seems it could be weird were he to start.
Whether I'm simply leaving it a few months or sending another character through, I don't know. None of my other fifties seem to have quite the right feel for taking on the Alpha slot just yet. -
Ruuun! The thread wants my brains!
Seriously confused me. I opened the thread and read the OP with one eyebrow raised, ready to point out how I didn't think they'd actually taken a loyalist to the rogue isles yet, as most of the issues raised are covered, albeit awkwardly.
Only when the next few posts seemed just as clueless did I realise the date. -
Quote:I suppose I agree with just about everything here. Except I seem to have more of a craving for it. Rain looks bad a lot of the time. It's not a question of being hard to do, it's a question of being hard to do WELL. Rain, for instance, is almost universally completely terrible in video games. I've seen instances of rain raining though solid overhands, rain not raining in particular places with open sky above, rain not changing direction as you look up, rain not having splash effects, rain having ground splash effects over water, lack of puddles, wetness and so on, rain disappearing from open areas when you enter a closed area, you get the idea. And that's just bugs I've seen in games in the past AND just having to do with rain and no wind. We also have to deal with snow, fog, thunderstorms, possible hail... Weather is a demanding process.
Would I scoff at GOOD weather effects if we got them or complain about having them? HELL NO! I'd be as happy as everybody else. But as long as we DON'T have weather effects, then I'm not going to support endeavours to add them, simply because it's not worth the effort in my eyes. And not because weather isn't needed, but more because the effort is just that damn great.
Saying that, the Praetorian Underground's wet floor looks fantastic, so I've a little more faith in our developers than I do in the developers of most games I've witnessed. -
I'm another who would love weather to have some presence in Paragon. I was under the impression that weather was being looked at actually; I could have sworn that sometimes the clouds were greyer than usual above Imperial.
I've always wanted weather during particular events, too. I've always thought that the Banner event needed a little rain, and the winter event needed more snow. I tend to dress my characters up for the winter event, and they tend to look brilliant in the chalet, taking down lord winter, and all those wonderful wintery things. But they look silly when they're standing on a green grassy patch in Steel with the sun bearing down on them.
As far as effecting gameplay is concerned, whenever I thought about weather in-game (which is quite often), I always thought that minor zone-wide buffs would be applied. A tiny bit of cold resistance in the snow, for example. If you're adjusted to the cold weather, that cryo-ray should affect you that tiny bit less, right? I also like the idea of citizens having trouble with the weather, in the form of mini-zone events that you could come across. I don't think that villain spawns should really be disappearing because of the weather, though. As has already been said, it's suprisingly annoying as it is when a Rikti Invasion clears the streets of those Tsoo you're after, and even worse when you get a mission to hunt Council in Steel these days.
However, I have heard that weather is a very difficult thing to do. I can sort of see where War Witch is coming from, considering it from an effort:effect point of view, but I know it would just add its own layer of visual awesome. It's something I've always wanted since day one, is one of my absolute top wants, and I suppose I'm suprised it hasn't found its way in yet. If this became the next 'Ultra-mode' for the team to strive for, I'd be unspeakably excited. -
Quote:Good god yes. That the Purple Sleep set is called "Fortunata Hypnosis", yet Fortunatas don't have any sleep powers!
I had a couple drop, and I thought 'I don't really have a need for this, so I'll put it on Wentwor- Oh wait! I'll stick it on my fortunata! Should give me a grin every once in a while. I'll just slot it in- oh.'

Goosebumps.
A fantastic trailer as always. I particularly liked the first clip with Apex and War Witch, but I've always been fond of their story, along with Horus. I wasn't actually that excited about the incarnate task forces, but you've gone and done it for me.
Nice work! -
Upon seeing the thread title, I came in here to say 'they're called story arcs'. However, you've suprised me, and this wasn't what I thought it'd be at all.
I'm all for it. Make it you have to double-confirm it or something, with them warning you.

Quote:Ouch. Fun, though!Well, since we're sharing:
Basilisk's Extremely Hard CoH Secret Identities Test
Seriously, I made the thing and even I can't get 100% now. Expect a challenge.
I got twenty-six, and was halfway through typing number twenty-seven when the timer reached zero. After that, there were three more that I don't know why I didn't fill them in, as I do know them. So thirty at my best. So many names left to remember!
My interest was peaked at Clamor and the original Countess Crey, though. Same surnames: coincedence? As she's an orphan, I can't deny I'm curious. -
I got eighteen, and I don't know whether I'm proud or ashamed.
I tried so hard, but I couldn't remember 'A Shadow of the Past' for the life of me. -
Since the server move and upgrade that was praised and feared by the EU, I have been hearing people telling me about how both Wentworth's and mission map connecting appears to be faster. So my thanks go to those who're involved for this one. It would appear you've done nicely.
Tonight, I have known of two ITFs that have been run; One of which I rode along on personally. Both teams report that Lag Valley has been fixed. No more lag. Smooooth. I assume this is due to the new hardware, as opposed to the reloacation, as the US servers reported that their Lag Valley was also deadly.
This leads me to ask: how much lag do you guys get? What does it affect, and how badly are you affected? I've never known anyone to compare the EU lag valley with the US one, except stating that both trip up. We Europeans are praising the new servers for allowing us to play the ITF smoothly, and some of us were wondering if the US servers could use a similar upgrade, assuming that you're not already on par with the new servers and this isn't some miracle. -

Quote:[Limitless Radial Freem]There anther in the game [radial freem or something] that I took screenshots of without the option set to screengrab the UI. I'll try again tomorrow, if anyone knows the correct spelling let me know, or if you know about any other sneak peaks into the future.
Looking at this page I'm gonna jump to the conclusion this is the next slot we get and we get it in I20. Why do I think this? That list is not in alphabetical order, the alpha slot is at the top. The next slot, also with the most verbose description is the Judgement slot.
Based on the jokey name though, it'll either be changed before we get it, or it'll be used on NPCs or something. It seems to boost everything by an insane amount.
I think assuming that we'll get it in issue twenty's a bit premature, though. I can see where you're pulling it from, but this is how common misconceptions start around here; like six-year veterans getting mega-super-instant beta access. -
A nice move!
Should quieten the angry mob we've got going for a couple of weeks. Then they'll start on server list merges again. -
It would appear that at least one (1) person(s) played City of Heroes this fiscal quarter.
Discuss. -
Quote:I was wondering if they were the solution to Praetorian missions sending us to Primal warehouses. I'd like to think we're just getting more maps in general (or even more variations like the Posi TF and the halloween tip), but I wouldn't be suprised if it was something to fill the Praetorian warehouse void.If they're actually a replacement for existing warehouse maps, and have layouts like actual warehouses instead of a maze skinned to look like a warehouse, then I think it's FANTASTIC, and I hope we'll be seeing replacements for offices and labs soon (the Praetorian labs are better, but still feel slightly random).

Quote:I would have guessed the Spiritual tree for mega-super-recharge trappage.Yeah, my Empath not only gets the boost from inherenet Stamina (she has no fitness pool atm) but she can also slot for end-red, healing AND stun all in one (Empath/Psi). She's gonna be quite badass by the time this is over
Alpha, though...NOT a clue what I'll put in him...Bots/Traps MM, so...Damage, maybe? since Inherent stamina will let me take his attacks again....uhm....hm. *ponder*
That costume has me intrigued, and the hospital looks wonderful! -
Those look powerful! While I look forward to slooooowly making my way through the alpha slot, I can't help but be curious about how being an incarnate effects the rest of the game. Would it make some things too easy?
I'm sure it's been considered, tested, and tweaked in beta. -
I know both are websites, but I was under the impression that BadgeHunter operated outside of the Titan Network, and Sentinel would not communicate with BadgeHunter. Am I mistaken? My apologies if I am.
-
Badgehunter is operated by different people, so this won't be updating your badgehunter stats.
Quote:My question is, do I need the other programs for this to work? or is it a "stand alone" product?
You need not have Herostats for this to work. I've never touched it. -
Quote:I think it really differs from person to person, and if you're looking for more then it may not be of any use to you.I've been back and forth over whether to PM you with this or ask you in this thread. My question deals more with the Info Tracker system as a whole than with just the Sentinel, but the two are so closely tied together it seems appropriate to ask here.
Ok. I am on City Info Tracker and have Titan Sentinel updating my characters for me. Now what?
That sounds silly to ask. But really, what can I do with this? What do people normally do with this site? What utility do these tools provide?
Please understand I'm not trying to belittle what you've accomplished. I understand enough programming to know what a feat Titan Sentinel is. Basically I just want you to "sell" it to me. Right now I only see CIT as a way to show off my badges, but I get the feeling there's much more to it than that.
Again, I know how much work had to go into this. What I see is phenomenal, but I know that there's more utility to it that I must be missing.
I use it as a badge checklist for my badger, as I'm always losing track of what I've already got, what I still need to get, and the 'Low Hanging Fruit' is one of my favourite aspects: a list of badges that I haven't earned yet, with the 'easiest', most common ones at the top.
I also use it as a method of 'filing' my characters, but that's just a personal thing. Since a young age I've always had a thing for sorting things out and taking a note of information in tables, charts, and that kind of thing, so having it done for me is somewhat satisfying. -
Quote:They practically have. I think all that's really missing is a way we can post builds to our character pages. Other than that, I'm not sure how much more can be added.I can see why the devs scrapped the City Vault - you guys are eventually just going to make it for them for free, aren't you?
Edit some more!: or upload costume files! That could be so epic.
Then they just need to get that mac version out of the door. -
I think I need a lie down. This is fantastic. My thanks go to everyone involved; you've really outdone yourselves.
Edit: I just used it. I'm loving this good. The build export and badge updating via /info make me smile. Very, very nice. -
Sorry if this seems out of place; I had no idea where to post it.
I was running along Dean MacArthur's arc this afternoon, and got to the final mission, where your faulty clone is assigned random powersets from the mission architect system. Mine got Electric Control. Now, I thought this a little odd in itself as we don't have access to it in AE yet, but I was more suprised when he summoned his gremlins.
They were white, which is a little different from the default purple. Is this a potential leak of power customisation in AE? Being worked on, but found it's current state shipped off with the i19 pre-download? Or is this something else entirely? -
