I'm thinking of branching my Ebil to Salvage in preperation for 2XP weekend. I plan on using tickets to make commons. What do the gurus think would be the best slavage lvl range to go for?
-
For my Shield /Mace tank I have at least 47% defense to all positions, and I don't have weave or combat jumping. I used all set IO's and don't seem to have sacrificed anything at all to get there.
I am now lvl 50 and can take out 2 Mobs of Cimmoraeons on the Wall in about 5 seconds without being touched while I herd usually. I use a mix of Touch of Death, and Mako's in my single target attacks, and then a mix of Scricco's Devs and Oblits in my AoEs.
I use the melee and PBAoEs to shore up my Melee and AoE defense. I use Red Fortunes in my shield toggles to get ranged defense from the 6 slot. I also added Manuvers also six slotted for another place to put a red fortune and found it atually really helped boost my total defense while still allowing my winged character to be able to take the Flight pool.
In the flight Pool I took 2 slots each in hover and fly and used Blessing of Zepyer's for more ranged defense.
Lastly I took Build Up and six slotted it with Gaussin's Fire Control and got a huge defense buff to all three positions
The only thing that can reliably hit me now is an AV it seems and those can only really hurt me if the are 50+ lvl 50 AVs I can afk against them, and I have afked right next to a Rikit Pylon in RWZ and came back and she was alive still after 10 minutes hehe. I love my tank and have spent a bunch on here to get all the best sets, but i don't need an purples (though i've been seriously tempted to start saving for a set for Clobber, but it would just hurt my defense lol. -
so you want to keep bonuses that you don't even get because of the rule of five.... I liek your choice of power sets I just think you are really missing some of the benifits that Dark Blast can give you besides damage. Well to each their own....
-
DOH! Well I hope they didn't just try and flip one after buying it close to that rofling, but then I might backtrack in my Ebil
-
Yep and boy he would whine and complain when *me* a farmer (and a hero also)* Would hit my Warburg Phase Shift when he'd run a NPC Mob up my rear end so he could try and steal my heavy to use in his NPC firing Squad tactics.
Funny since all I ever heard from him was "MOAR PHASE PLEASE" when he was attacked and he ran like a coward before his Phase wore off, because he never would fight unless he was ready, not blaming him because fighting on your own terms is a valid tactic.
It was the the way he did everything just annoyed everyone on both sides. TP Droning, intentionally trying to get debt, interupting duels, and being just plain an a**hat to everyone. I guess his annoyance experiment was a resounding success.... -
Ebil may start paying off sooner than I thought.. I just got a LotG +recharge lvl 50 for 66,666,667 million and the last 3 sales after mine are all for 100 Million....
Guess what I did hehe

Ok your trying for a nice +recharge build correct? Well I hate to break it to ya but your waaaaaay over the rule of 5 for IO set bonuses. You have 9 sets that give you 5% recharge. Six of those sets are Doctored Wounds. So what you may want to consider is swiching out a set or 4 for Miracle, Numina's, or maybe a Performance Shifter.
Personally i'd drop Absorb Pain like a Hot Potato, with a mini Tactical nuke stuffed inside a White Phosphorus Grenade, and inside of that..... but thats just me.
your drop that and you have one less overlapping set of set bonuses, six more slots, another power pick to get something to help your team out offensively, or another power pool if your totally set on being a buffer/healer. -
I just took s Shield/warmace to 50 in record time (for me) and loved every minute of it. It's very Scrappery feeling, but dang near impossible to kill at times. I even avoided taking the fighting pool completely, and basicly used IO set bonuses to help buff my defense.
Kinetic Combats for Melee at lower lvls then Touch of Death ank Mako's higher up.
For my many PBAoEs Multistikes are cheap and help some with defense (and is a pretty nice Acc, damage, end and recharge mix to in my opinion) and moved to Scirro's Devestation and Obliterations later.
Defense go Red fortune in Battle Agility and Deflection (and Manuvers which helps quite a bit and is one power instead of three for more D) and two LotGs in Phalanx and Grant Cover for that super regn bonus.
I actually have spent a good bit of cash (maybe 200 Mill) on this toon, but can run the Wall herding 2 groups at a time and gather huge herds in missions to use all those nice PBAoEs on.
So in my opinion Shield/War Mace not only looks cool, but it can be an awesomely powerful and fun tank. -
I was thinking about Thunderstrikes and Crushing Impacts being as they are in high supply due to Tickets, but if AE is not double xp then AE people will be out doing normal stuff so these would be rarer again during the event and a little after... Do you think I am far off?

Pair up as Fire/Rads. Fire/Kin is ok low lvl and really starts blooming at 32 with your pets and just gets really powerful from there.
Fire/Rad (especially two) takes off at lvl 4 (double stacked AM FTW), and gets better and better from there. I can take on just about anything in the game with mine (and a duo can)!!! -
I agree about the Grav Anchor Chance for hold. It's awesome and allows me to save my AoE holds till I need them more (if ever). Also if your looking at getting more recharge Gaze of the Baslisk 4 slotted gives you 7.5% to recharge (I think I know it's higher than 5%). I have two sets 4 slotted into Cinders and EMP. I also slot alot of Procs on my Fire/Rad.
In Hotfeet went with Multi Strike Damage/end, Acc/End, Scrio Derv Dam/End, Acc/Dam/End along with the chance for Lethal and the Purple Chance for yummy damage. It is evil bad guy melting goodness.
In Char I have 3 Damage Procs from GW, NS,and Unbreakable constraint along with Acc/Hold from the sets the go with. It turns Char into a massive damage suprise to whatever is set to gagging from the smokie, smashing brain melting they are hit with.
In Chocking Cloud I have GW End/Hold and Chance for Psi. I also have Neurotic End/Hold and chance for Psi. I also threw Lockdown end/hold and the chance for +2 Mag hold. Oh how I love my electic globes of gagging, burning to death, and fire Monkie climbing their butt goodness. -
Hi i'm a long time player, but noob Ebil Marketer. I have a plan for 2xp weekend that has, before the event has started, actually netted me some decent returns. Anyone want to share the basics of their Ebil plan before the event to help give us noobie Ebil Marketers a helpful nudge?

So him pulling enemy faction NPCs into another Hero, because he thought Farming was wrong, is ok? How about TP Foeing villians into Longbow Mobs while they were *gasp* actually PvPing heroes well away from the hero base, and not base camping as he often claimed? That was just to try and get them debt..... He knew the majority of the time that the NPCs would get the kill not him. Yes he was such a skilled PVPer.....
I never PvPed against Twixt, because I never had a high lvl villian, but I hated how he tried to get me debt for farming RV a lil.
The most awsome thing that really pushed me over the top in my Twixt hate was that I started catching him Farming the zone as well, and not once but many times. So the great anti-farmer was not only a real nasty jerk, but he was also a hypocrite of the highest order.
So for all you that think the way he played, and the way he acted was ok, I'm glad you didn't have to deal with this guy or i'd bet the majority would feel the same as I do. I13 ruined PvP but at least it got rid of Twixt... oh wait he still haunts the community by making us look like whiny brats that couldn't beat the MAGNIFICANT TWIXT and so had to resort to death threats...... SIGH! -
Ok, I read the paper and the news article both, and am nearly rolling with laughter about both.
For one thing, I played in RV at the same time as Twixt was around, and we hated him. Heroes and Villians alike for one main reason! He was a hypocrite of the highest order. He would start chat wars himself, with anyone and everyone, from the time he entered the zone till he left.
The articles also don't include tha fact that the great anti-farmer Twixt got caught farming himself so many times it wasn't even funny, and this was after he berated Hero farmers for doing the same, uh HYPOCRITE!
Another fact is that isn't farming a part of the game, as long as it is not an exploit? So his hate for something that can be done under the rules of the game is as unreasonable as people hating his grieving?
I really wish I had thought Twixt was more than some basement troll, living in his Mom's basement and not having a life other than making others miserable, so I had made chat logs.... sigh!
I contacted the editor of the paper that posted the article and also Mr. Myers department head to see what I would hear back.... I'll let you guys know if I hear anything back. -
That is totally bogus.... It will make Stalkers even more uber as the unseen killers in PvP, now it will make it funner to be sneaky myself and smack em while they line up a sniper shot, but being pounded by them doesn't sound fun....
