    50+ mil, NO TY.

    [ QUOTE ]

Are you sure of this EU/US Sharing the market?.

cuase i been looking at some specific IO sets somewhile back, and on my home server( Defiant ) they where very expensive, then i hoped over to Union and i noticed the prices where way lower on there( both done with Villians and Hero's).

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are just 2 market servers, one for blues, one for reds. In fact, market maintenance downtime is as if it was US server, not EU server. Not sure how to explain that Defiant/Union discrepancy... Maybe someone bought a ton of the things while you relogged?

But if you have INF to burn it's easy to test for yourself... Make some ridiculous bid (1 mil for common vendtrash or something) and check the history on the other server. It ought to show up after some delay. (although, won't work on highly traded items...)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Another test; create a temporary toon on one of the non-English language servers, go to a market there, and see how many items are available.

If it's more than a dozen or so it must be a shared market, as it's not as though the local population's large enough to produce that many.

An eye for an eye, if you're rude enough to not be bothered sending a little tell to ask if someone's after a team, then I'll be rude as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Your call, but "he did it first" isn't a valid defence in terms of dodging penalties for EULA violations.

Especially as blind invites aren't actually EULA violations in themselves.
  3. But...but...if we're getting a closed beta over here, how will we fuel our persecution complexes?

    Respec questions

There are a few Fire/Fire blaster guides here which are probably worth a look.

Unless I'm missing something, though, you're onto a non-starter with the pet business; Fire blasters don't get pets[1]!

Remember that you can get dual builds for a toon these days...

[1] Other than the temp power pets like War Wolves and Shivans, which anyone can get. They aren't something to base a build around, though...

Contradiction in that first sentence; with Flight and SJ as temps, no one's being made to choose extra powers in the early levels.

Not that they ever were, of course, but now they're even more skippable until later. These days I'll get the temp powers early on and typically wait until at least the mid-20s to start looking at travel powers; my Crab Spider got by on the temps until the early 40s.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No, there is no contradiction there. Character concept wise there is a huge difference between having a backpack appear for flight and having the flight power. And good for you that you can skip the powers until later, but doing so saps some of my fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So at the very end of your OP, when you say "I think it will cancle out in the end power wise, but it would be a great boon to convenience, character concept, and fun of the early levels." you actually just meant "...a great boon to character concept"? And "fun", in as much as you like to keep to your character concept, but that's not really a separate reason.

Fair enough, but it's not very likely that they'll make major changes to pool mechanics because of a few people want to stick to character concepts so rigidly they'll avoid available alternatives.

    Still /unsigned

    I'm happy. I assume this is a <QR>?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Depends what QR means ...

It was aimed at the original post though

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Suspected as much.

QR = "Quick Reply"; type into the text box at the end of thread rather than hit the "Reply" button for a specific post.

QR's can make it look like your post's replying to the contents of whatever post happened to be at the end of the thread, which can lead to a bit of eyebrow-raising.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Rather than take the pre-requisites away from the travel powers they created these temporary powers so that you don't need to go picking 'unnecessary' powers in the early levels anymore and you are still not happy?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I'm happy. I assume this is a <QR>?
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Now that we can get Flight and Super Jump as temporary powers as early as level 5, I do not se any reason for making us choose extra power at level 6 and waiting to level 14, just to get a travel power. Crossing zones with out a travel power can be tedious, and at best it is still not something I consider fun.

And yes, I am looking forward to hearing everything GR has to say about this decidedly very welcoming community, the good and the bad. For lurking on these boards a wee bit over the 4 years I've been playing CoH though, I can say it's provided a place for some really good people to interact and I intend to carry on this tradition!

Hi there. I'm the nice easy going one. And I wont give you any problems. Th[ere]'ll be those that disagree with me.

  15. Yeah, because calling people you don't agree with "a bunch of school kids" always helps on internet forums.
  16. They should sort out the PR line they'll give to subscribers [u]before[u] they fire the local PR team, or handle it promptly themselves.

Whatever the reason for the recent events their customer handling was terrible, and like ML I'm considering whether it's worth budgeting further subscriptions money for a company that seems to care so little for its subscribers.

As you say, times are hard and money shouldn't be wasted.

    [ QUOTE ]
Uh, yeah, that's the point. They're very powerful, but as Blasters are largely defenseless unitl APPs, it's a risk vs. reward decision to make. If you'd rather play it safe and stick to range, nobody's forcing you to use or even take these powers, but they tend to be more powerful than ranged blasts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    APPs?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ancillary Power Pools, aka Epic Power Pools.

The AT-specific pools that open up hero-side in the 40s, and that (for blasters) finally give access to a decent defence or resistance toggle.

    leveling to 50

From your posting history it seems that farming does lead to PLing.

Now we just need to prove that PLing leads to the Dark Side, and the sequence is complete.

    . Probably.

I am curious as to whether we will get the same tools to create missions as the devs ?(if not how can we provide enthralling content?)

    [/ QUOTE ]
From the sound of it we'll get something that will let us create story-arc type missions; no custom maps though.

That should be enough to produce stuff of a par with existing top-rated story arcs (Phipps, new Faultline, etc...)

    [ QUOTE ]
And if we do get tools to enable us to create missions that exceed the current type we are served, then what does it say about the professionals, paid to give us the best mission content they could over the last 5 years?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't think it would really say anything; you seem be overestimating the abilities that should come with the tag "professional". Allowing for tiny dev teams at various times, and the fact that people aren't likely to have been working on nothing but new missions for the entire period, we might be looking at an average of 1-2 professionals doing missions over the last 5 years.

When MA comes in, there could be 1,000-10,000+ people suddenly working on missions; many of those people will be experienced gamers and GMs, some will have designed online missions before for other games, some may well be professional authors or scriptwriters.

I'm sure there'll be a lot of dross, but at the same time I'd be amazed if those 10,000 people coming out with new arcs didn't manage to come up with at least a few that equalled, or surpassed, existing content.
