Quote:That's just crazy! For players and services, 12.737 billion.
6.368.5 billion went to the jackpot prizes
3.8211 billion to @G E N (when last seen, he was in his base, making inf angels)
1.91055 billion to @Afro poptart
636.85 million to @Gaederath
2.5 billion raised for Justice Events and the Justice Mentor Project.
I'm amazed. Thank you all for the fun time.
I'm so sorry I missed it, but as yesterday was the last day of our vacation, wifey and I wanted to spend a little time together before reality sank back in.
Kudos to Justice, and a hearty "congrats" to the organizers and volunteers. -
I didn't, but I still had a great time.
Thanks for taking the time to PM me kid. -

Sorry I didn't have time to add this to the Activity Calendar.
Hope it was fun. -
Added to Activity Calendar, for those who access it via their SG websites, Google Agenda or other means outside the forums.
A little late, but I was on vacation, and thought it was already done. -
Quote:Glad to see you're already in action RL....Had my first Mentor experience last night, helping a new player find his way from City Hall to the Yellow Line to Galaxy.
Rewarding, if short-lived.
Looking forward to more Mentoring ahead!
If you haven't yet been promoted in the channel make sure to let one of the mods know. -
Quote:Done, albeit reluctantly. Please remove my details from this project. I no longer wish to be associated with it nor many of the people involved with it.*
Note to Mentors: Disagreements with other mentors and/or neophytes need to be brought to the attention of the concerned server coordinator. Please do not take it into your own hands to subjectively lay down the law. You will have no support in doing so.
Furthermore, please take into consideration that the Mentor Project, being an open system where volunteers freely give their time to share opinions and experience, is not being filtered nor are there any plans at this time to restrict participation.
There are bound to be disagreements about various topics as well. That is by design and is intentional. The hope is that a concensus will be reached on any given topic thru the sheer number of mentors expressing themselves upon it. -

Quote:That made me feel uncomfortable and I'm suing.well that's stupid. If I lived in Canada I'd have been sued to oblivion by now. Course I get nauseous when I here schools banning games like tag, because someone has to be it and it usually is the slow person.
When I was the slow person, being it sucked, but you know what.... I got faster and then found a slower person than me.
Weiner Weiner.
Just felt like saying weiner.
And as a parent, don't even get me started about how wussifying the schools are now, as they take more and more responsibilities away from parents who should know better.
I'm expecting helmets to be mandatory indoors anytime now. -
Quote:Looking forward to your return already, bud.I'd like to assist, however due to a brief break from the game, I am unable to at this time. However when GR gets going I'll be all over this like fly on xxxx. In the meantime, I'm plugging away at Left 4 Dead with family.
Meanwhile, you can still sign up and any emails that go out you could keep track of. -
Well folks, I'd like to present to you the current roster of volunteers who have registered with the Mentor Project.
There are others who have joined the N P C channel as well, but since we don't have an official record for them it's much harder to keep track of them. Still, I offer them a heartfelt "thank you" for considering investing of themselves into MP.
Current Registered Mentors
(If there are any changes to be made in your entry, please let me know)
Mentors: spread the word ingame to new players you meet! This is our best method for getting the information out to them. -

Quote:Since there's almost no way I, or anyone else in MP, can confirm anyone's age, perhaps you'd consider joining MP still and then propose your services from there, as you see the need arise?I run the Retrospective SG on Virtue and we have a decent core group of experienced players. we also have an age restriction of 18+. all that being said if any of your mentors have a neophyte looking to join an SG and they fit with in the age category i am more than happy to take them and help mentor them as would my officers. i personally would volunteer to be a mentor but i have had bad experiences with the under 18 crowd so i don't think i should be a mentor with you guys but i will offer our services for any neophytes mentored by you guys. Again they must be at least 18 since discussions in SG and ventrilo chat get more than a little NC17. I am also willing to Coalition with any current Mentor SG on Virtue. PM me here or contact me via @Chroam ingame
Your proposals are interesting re: SG / SG coalition and that would be worth further talks, but as the project is very open-ended, there would be no official method of getting your offer out to the right people aside from either creating a lot of legwork for a volunteer, or (simpler) you guys having a rep involved to evaluate possibilities.
Since there's no obligation to take on direct partnerships with neophytes and simply monitoring the N P C channel in a consultation role is sufficient, that might work for you. -
Quote:The cases I referred to involved citing documented, researched facts. We don't in Canada, because it's illegal to publicly incite hatred against people based on their colour, race, religion, ethnic origin, and sexual orientation...
They're a far cry from inciting hatred.
"Hatred" in Canada has been interpreted in our courts as "whatever makes one feel uncomfortable, regardless of truth" - if you're in the right minority group. -
-
Quote:Heck, in Canada, there is no such thing as free speech - contrary to the widely-held public assumption....Just keep in mind, do you have freedom of speech at work? ...
There are recorded cases where saying the truth (documented facts) even landed people in court, and at least one where a man was sued because his statements (even if true) made another person feel uncomfortable. -
What a sad turn of events.
When TR was getting under way, I had all sorts of hopes, since I'm a scifi geek, and for a while it looked like it had great potential.
I heard a long interview where Garriott earlier this year where Lord British revealed he's not done with MMOs, and in fact has launched new projects.
It was during said interview that I learned he had been involved in CoH / CoV. Thought it was great that the "father of MMOs" had been involved with it. -
Quote:I lived in Timmins, ON as a teenager (unknowingly attending the same school as Shania Twain, but I digress).Where I live now is actually one of the southern most points in Canada. I'm moving about 800 Klicks north. Far enough to see the Northern Lights, anyway.
Alkways thought that there was just cold and sea monsters north of that.
Welcome back EK. -
