The "Swap Ammo" power functions somewhat like the Kheldian "Forms." The main difference being that Swap Ammo itself doesn't actually do anything.
It's a passive power that gives you 3 active toggle powers: Cryo Ammunition, Incendiary Ammunition, and Chemical Ammunition. You have to use those three powers to change your ammo type. -

Yes, you can set all the difficulty settings at the Field Analysts/Fortunata Fateweavers.
-1 to +4 level baddies
1 to 8-man team spawns
Bosses/No Bosses when solo
Arch-Villains/Elite Bosses when solo
Also note that some AE missions don't take the spawn size difficulty setting in to account. -
DeBIT you mean?
If so, does the debit card you're using have a Visa/MasterCard/etc symbol on it? If it does, you can just put the debit card numbers in to the CC fields and it will treat it like a CC (except for the fact that you pay upfront, not later like you do with CCs).
You can also just hook your bank account directly to PayPal, which is what I do. -
Quote:No, only the Henchmen were nerfed because they were giving more EXP than they were intended to.Double times very little is still not too much.
Did the nerf affect the "normal" AE farms such as the battlemaiden clones and the Samurai farm?
If not, I will enjoy some AE x2 xp there that will not be too bad.
Otherwise its off to Peregrine.
All AE missions that didn't use the Henchmen as custom critters remained untouched. -
Quote:The fact that people are finding exploits in the AE system to level quickly, and that many, many people did those missions over and over, serves as proof enough I'd say.Really? And you've got research and figures to back this up? Or are you talking out of your rear ( still )?
If they didn't like leveling quickly, they wouldn't be doing it, would they? -

Interestingly enough, I have a lifetime subscription to Champions Online. :P
And I haven't actually decided whether or not I'm quitting, guys. I said Issue 17 and Going Rogue would be the breaking point. After those both come out, if I still don't find myself with a renewed sense of fun in the game, then I will likely quit for good. I still love the game, it just feels "stale" to me. The fact that I have a growing dislike for the company behind it doesn't help, either.
Then again, I thought the last time I quit was "for good" as well. Old habits die hard, I guess. lol -
As am I.
Quote:Perhaps I read too much into your previous statement. It seems that I'm the one that owes the apology. To you, sir.
No apology necessary. Context can be difficult to pick up on online, since you can't pick up on vocal tones. -
Quote:Let's face it, the majority of players like to level quickly. NCsoft, by implementing a system that let them tailor-make missions, and making those missions give characters EXP, basically gave them a power leveling tool, regardless of what their intentions were. I refuse to believe NCsoft, being as large an MMO company as they are, didn't see it coming. In fact, if I recall correctly, a post Posi made not long after its implementation actually mentioned that they anticipated it.I disagree.
The fact that the development team would include content/functionality that allows players to craft their own missions is, by definition, an extension of crafting as a whole. This demonstrates that the development team is interested in giving players the ability to apply a little change to their respective game world. Whereas you choose to see that as something negative, I choose to see it for what it is: Offering flexibility and choice.
The concept of the AE system itself was a good one. The flaw was the EXP rewards. In my opinion, EXP should have been converted in to tickets, rather than tickets taking the place of normal drops.
Quote:This is entirely subjective and meaningful only to you. While you might feel this way, there are plenty of folks I know, and play with, that feel differently about AE and its presence in the game. It's not perfect but it's a nice option to have when paper missions, SFs and regular missions run dry. -
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the henchie exploit didn't need to be fixed. It did.
I'm just mildly annoyed with NCsoft on the whole right now. They keep painting a shiny new coating over old content and expecting us to be distracted by the glisten.
For me at least, Issue 17 and Going Rogue will be the breaking point. If I don't feel a freshness in the game with them, I think I'm done. With CoH and possibly with NCsoft. They haven't been impressing me of late and I'm finding it harder to justify handing them money every month. -
Justify it however you want.
I'm still convinced that the AE system in itself was a mistake. The whole "player-made content" thing was and is a delusion, and NCsoft knows it. It's a potential power leveling tool, nothing more. I've looked for actual storyline content and I've found only a handful that are worthwhile. -
People used the Mastermind "Boss Pets" (ie Commando, Bruiser) as the main enemy. They gave a lot of EXP, but were easy to kill and did little damage. They drastically reduced the EXP reward for them with today's patch.
-
From today's Patch Notes:
Quote:Mission Architect
* Custom Critters: Rewards for Mastermind Boss Pets used as custom critters have been reduced. -
Quote:Ahh thanks. Didn't know that. I haven't played around much with the Ouroboros system. XDOne correction. You would still have access to powers that you chose up to *five* levels above your current reduced level. So if you're in a flashback at level 9, you'll have access to powers that you picked up to level 14. Flashback to level 14, you'll access to powers you picked up to level 19.
-
Quote:Actually, just the opposite. When going back to events further in the past, your character experiences what Ouroboros calls "Temporal Scaling." Your character's body adjusts to being in a new timeline, and your level is temporarily reduced to whatever the particular event you're doing is. You will lose access to any powers you picked up after that point.I specially like the mentioned "flashback" system, I assume using it will scale up the difficulty of the mission you are currently embarking on towards your level?
For example, say you picked up your travel power at level 14, when it first becomes available. If you go to a flashback that puts you at level 12, you will no longer but able to use that travel power until you finish the mission and come back out, thus returning to your normal level.
What server are you going to play on? If you join Freedom, you can look me up in-game and I'll help show you around. =3 -

Quote:Ohhh good point. That makes sense. From what I understand, that meant that the Complete set wont be available for pre-PURCHASE (on the website for instant access to the new sets), but the Complete edition would still be available for pre-ORDER (at your local retailer prior to official release date).
Stupid weird wording.
See, to me, pre-purchase and pre-order are the same thing. I guess when you think about it though it's not...pre-purchase implies you pay for it upfront and get it later, while pre-order implies you pay for it once it ships. I don't tend to make subtle distinctions like that, though. lol -
Quote:CE as in Collector's Edition? *perks up ears*It's not for sale yet. They say it is, but it isn't. Wait until later this week. Also, important distinction: You can only Prepurchase the regular edition this week. If you wish to preorder, as in preorder the CE, you'll have to wait until later.
And if you meant COMPLETE Edition (Actually called Complete Collection), then that won't be available for pre-order. At all. It will only be available starting in July at retail.
(from Avatea's post in Announcements)
Quote:The Complete Collection will be available both digitally and at retail (in North America) starting in July and cannot be prepurchased (only the separate expansion can be prepurchased). -
Dual Pistols is probably my favorite set in the game thus far.
That said, I'm convinced I AM pre-purchasing Going Rogue, as soon as it becomes available. Two, in fact, as I pay for my friend's subscription as well. -
I hardly ever take a travel power anymore, unless it's part of my character's concept. I have the Martial Arts booster, so there's really no need to (if you've been on the fence about buying a super booster pack, I HIGHLY recommend you get this one - very worth the $10).
I get Stamina on every character, which means having to get either Swift or Hurdle (often both). I just slap a couple slots on those powers and drop a couple IO run speeds/jumps on them. Combine that with Ninja Run and perhaps a Sprint power and I've got plenty of mobility.
Then you add in the shortcuts mentioned already and Travel Powers become rather obsolete. -
Well, it IS an old game. It's understandable they'd be cheap. Why keep the price high on old merchandise when there's a smorgasbord of new, sleek merchandise that they can charge top dollar for. Older things are priced to move. Just the way it works. ;o
-
Quote:Indeed. I was just mentioning it as an alternative in case he didn't want to go around searching for the boxes. That works. However, even after buying Architect Edition, it is still wiser to also purchase the full Good vs. Evil edition instead of just buying the GvE items pack. The pack by itself runs $10. The GvE box, at the absolute most would be $20 (possibly even less). And it comes with that $10 worth of items and another $15 worth of game time.
Likewise, the Mac edition (which does not actually require a Mac) also comes with game time, and the Valkyrie items pack (which sold separately would be another $10). All three codes can be applied to your account (just no duplicates).
