A mere fixing of quotes you say? Perhaps.
Then again, perhaps this whole thread is a vast conspiracy. -

Quote:In addition to the advice already being thrown out, I'd offer a couple more points:How can I work the market better...
Please note that my impatience is a very difficult variable to change.
:P
1) If you want it, chances are someone wants it, too. Bid on 2, and lay in cheap bids for the salvage x 2. When you win, craft one to use, and craft one to sell. (You can be your own market guinea pig.)
2) Impatience is a fine thing when you're buying from me.
3) If you don't like #2, create an event for yourself to counter yourself. I like logging for the night at the market. I get everything set up for the next night of play (whether really tomorrow night or months from now). Usually then the next time I play that character I get a whole lot of instant gratification right off the bat.
4) Create an AoE death machine (ADM) to pimp out your target character. DA, CF, the Shard, it's all good for an ADM and good fun, too. Of course, if you do that, you might encourage more payoff from #3, as well as having a bunch of extra merits, salvage, etc. on the ADM, but is that really a bad thing?(Yes, it's a bit odd to have your level 30 something-or-other tricking out your 50s, but I did a lot of that when I9 hit, and I really enjoyed my frad.)

Quote:And as a further emphasis on this, the devs just upped a whole boatload of merit rewards. There is one. Every zone and every auction house has a merit vendor. You can buy any IO recipe in the game for a fixed cost at those vendors, with the exception of purple recipes.
Heck, my new rad blaster just hit level 20 last night with 49 merits already in tow. Generate some merits, get your stuffs.
(Or just patiently set a bid to get your stuffs, but that's like witchcraft or something.) -

Thanks, though, Synapse for what I think is the 4th redname post here* (and shortly after a RickRoll no less).
Good questions from the testers, too (are the PW drop rates correct, did you actually defeat stuff or use the I Win button, and what is your reaction to the data already collected). I hope we get to see you stop back with the answers.
*let's see if I remember them: Ex's attempt to smooth things over post, Posi's villains don't have as much money post, Mod8's ebil 'crapping' post, and now Synapse's I haz some data post.

Take that Jack, ED, the GDN, PvP, RP, and AE. You are all wusses compared to the li'l percentage of ebil marketers!
*kicks sand in the face of all of the above* -

Quote:Interestingly enough, said poster apparently calmed himself down, and came at things from a slightly different angle.
More unfortunately, someone gave him a very thoughtful reply, to which he acquiesced.
What kind of world are we living in where nerdrage is not allowed to roam free and enjoy a fulfilled life? Have things really devolved to the point of thoughtful reflection and proper discourse?
Maybe enough LOLcats weren't created today or something. -
Quote:Dare to dream, RagMan!Truth. Every time I read the GM Dave link, I laugh. Sometimes, it almost makes me wish I were a GM. But then I remember that not all GM <--> player interactions get to be as fun as that one and I give up the dream.

However, I must say, I treat every GM interaction now as if GM Dave were on the other end. -

Darn it, I finally get around to reading this thread, and I find out there's no me in here at all.
Less farming, less I16, moar me (and maybe some you)! -
Quote:But I always find it hilarious when someone says, "I've been playing 5 years and still don't have a purple."The market and inventions weren't always here. We were all new to them at one point or another.
It sort of makes up for there being no more 60 day complaint threads. -
Quote:Now, see, I would merely hire my accountant brother. You're crazy!
But seriously it would suck to win so much that I would have to hire people to manage the money given how many professional athletes find themselves ripped off years later by money managers so I would also have to go to school to learn how to do those things myself so I wouldn't have to rely on others.
And if he ripped me off, that would be okay--the money's still in the family. -

Ah, thank you, Hydro. Now I can sleep at night, knowing first of all that Chaos is out there stopping Casuals from purpling their 'Shades, and now he's doing it with stylin' insps.
And he's yelling like a banshee trying to mash F4 to pop a green and being prevented somehow. -

*wants to sneak up on Chaos and hit that G button to see what it does*

Gratz on the sale, but look at that jumbled mess of insps!!!
Won't someone think of the children? It's like you're trying to create a chaotic mess...oh, wait, nevermind.
