I posted this in the art thread, but I thought I'd also post here, because it's based on a supergroup founded on Virtue. Wootlabs is a webcomic I started drawing a few months ago, loosely based on the supergroup They Might Be Heroes. Virtue people may recognize some of the more notorious members, like Pengi and Catbot.
Here's a sample or two:
I'm also currently taking requests for character art.I'm trying to iron out my style and make it a little bit better, so if anyone would like some art done of their character, just PM me and I'll see what I can do.

- Fights in the D...
Technically speaking, they shouldn't be happening. I mean, that's why DJ Zero has it as a neutral zone. But I take this as the sort of thing that's going to happen no matter what. The D is an odd little look at a quasi-society, and fights are bound to break out. "Hey, Futa X is macking on the angel vampire I wanted to get with; time to start a brawl." I tend to ignore them. In the case that they involve my characters without solicitation, I ignore them even harder. Fights are one of the reasons I usually RP on a tab that only has team chat, even in the D. - "I don't take level into account"
I handle this on a case by case basis. With friends and RPers I know aren't godmodders, then I don't mind at all playing out that my level 50s could consider their level 5s a legitimate threat. But if it's someone that has a reputation for starting stuff with low levels, then I just ignore them. I don't settle ingame disputes via PvP, so RP fights are the only way to do so, and I think a little flexibility in this department is warranted. Especially in a game that's so alt-focused as CoH. - "I have powers that don't exist in the game"
Case by case, but I'm usually okay with it. Especially if their special power "replaces" one of their character's power selections. I have a cowgirl that RPs her Rad defense power as tumbleweed control. - "I'm immune to all Psychics" and "I can see through stealth"
I haven't really run into many psychics, oddly enough. And the ones I've run into haven't been the sort that are like "Taking control of your character, kthx." I think saying immune to all psychics is basically the same as saying you don't want to RP psychic story situations.
As for seeing through stealth, it'd have to have a good reason, I think. Sense of smell or tremorsense, or something similar.
I'm a fairly insular RPer, though. Big crowds like the D tend to trigger my shy response, so I do most of my RP with friends. - Fights in the D...

Thanks everyone.
New pic, wasn't sure if I could put it in the origina post, or just tuck it into a reply. This is gift art for a friend of mine, Sanguine Vixen on Virtue:

Quote:Is there a macro or a bind to delete insps? I find playing around with the mouse for that slows me down.
Delete awakens as they drop. You can delete inspirations during an attack animation as well, so take advantage of this to dump them without taking away time. -
Heroid! I remember being there at the Brawler when you dinged 50!

Thor: Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I was expecting it to be really campy, but they played the angle very well. Also, Darcy was a cutie.
Captain America: Liked it a little less than Thor, but still a good movie. It's first half was better than the 2nd, though. It felt like it lost steam after he started kicking butt, oddly enough.
X-Men: Really liked it, aside from the thrown in characters that served no purpose. I wasn't thrilled with Mystique and Xavier growing up together, but in the end it worked out well, and Magneto was a badass. Also, the flick had the best cameo of the year.
Harry Potter: A good conclusion to the series. It's clear they saved the exciting bits for Part 2; because Part 1 was boooooooooring. The action was good, and Neville got his hero moment. My only complaint was the ending, where they think that putting a fake beard on an 18 year old makes them look 40. -
The only thing I see myself using the VIP server for is a retirement home for characters I don't play anymore. A free transfer every month should help me clean up my character list. (For some reason, transferring a 50 to a server I never intend to play hurts less than deleting one. >.>)

Magnificence, I think the League was in the same coalition as They Might Be Heroes back when the Shield of Paragon was going on. I received another suggestion for SG via PM, and I'm already looking into that one, but I'll definitely keep the League in mind.

Hey everyone! I'd be surprised if anyone remembered me, but I used to play CoH like mad back in the day. I'm back from a year-or-so sabbatical, and I've noticed that not a lot of names on my global list are still around. I'm interested in finding a SG I can run with, and possibly make a new char for with double EXP weekend starting tonight. A little about me:
I'm a heavy RPer, and tend to roll female toons. I've been RPing for about fifteen years through various formats, and in CoH since I joined it after release. I have a tendency to go for characters that have some humor to them, since I don't like overly serious/dramatic situations. They're fine sometimes, but RPing intense drama 24/7 gets old.
I have several 50s on both sides; I'm also willing to make a new character for any SG/VG that seems like I'd be a good fit with.
I work a 9-5 EST job, Monday through Friday, but I'm available most evenings and weekends. No real interest in raiding or PvP, but I love to take part in RP events.
As a side note, I currently run a webcomic that's based on my old supergroup, They Might Be Heroes. It doesn't take place in Paragon, but it has characters in it first conceived in CoH by myself and my friends. If anyone's a webcomic fan, feel free to check it out, I'd love to know what some CoH Alumni think. It's at http://wootlabs.thewebcomic.com
Thanks! -
Hello everyone! I've been away from CoH for a while but I recently returned, and thought I'd show some of my work.
I run a webcomic that's based on my old SG. It's not set in Paragon, but it's heavily CoH influenced with characters originally created in CoH. The comic will eventually have a lot more action styled scenes, including cameos of CoH players. Here's a sample:
I'm currently looking to practice drawing, and I need potential models. So if you'd like to have your character done in my amatuer-ish style, please send me a PM. Since I'm still learning I can't garauntee I'll do a quick or a fantastic job, but I'll try. -
I'd love to throw my arc up for your review! It's called "Girls and Monsters," and the ID for it is 26779. Here's a brief synopsis...
Renee, also known as the hero Monster Squad, has been working for years to study the various monsters and creatures of the world. She's lived in Europe since long before weirdness in Paragon has begun, and now that she's visiting the area, there's plenty of weird creatures she's never seen before.
Busy with other obligations, Renee has hired an independent field researcher named Zoey to immerse herself in monster culture and learn what she can. To supplement Zoey's assistance, and save her butt when it needs to be saved, she occassionally needs to pull in some heroic assistance.
It's a mostly humorous campaign, with a bit of seriousness if you read between the lines. Three missions, not terribly long, and only one of them is a defeat all. (Which I'm actually considering removing from the mission requirements.) Your feedback would be greatly appreciated! -
Bradders just made me aware of the thread. >.> The other girl in the pic, the one you all thought was a BOY is my character Courtney, in game known as The Cross Gang.
Awesome, awesome, awesome picture, Alex. Brad, thanks so much.It really does these two justice!

Wow, awesome and totally unexpected! Thanks so much!
P.S.: Her name is Thrashdown. ^_^ -

Power to the People
This was a commissioned comic, by Static Thunder.
I've been thinking over a few things commission wise. I'd like to be able to do this to supplement some of my income, of which I have none. ^^;; I was thinking of setting up a standard pricing of like 5-10 bucks for a full color head shot of a character. Something simple and cute, and affordable for the standard person that doesn't have 200 bucks to throw down for art. Does that sound like a fair price? Want to get community feedback on it before I make anything official. -

Does the first comic in over a week have an eight foot tall cheerleader threatening one of the most annoying enemies in the game?
Yep, it does.
Sorry again about the long delay, I've been trying desperately to find a decent job in this town. (Still unsuccessfully.) Sooooo the comic might still be infrequent until I procure one, but I hope to have more released soon.
Alsooooo, I recently got a Comic Genesis account. This is cool because I could have an actual webpage for Mapserved, but it also sucks because I know NOTHING about HTML or FTPs or any of the other things I need to know about. So if you're experienced with that sort of thing and don't mind explaining it do an idiot, please let me know! I could definitely use a webmaster for the comic, or someone to teach me enough to do it myself. ^^;; -
They look neat! I want one!
The only thing I can think of though is that you might want to remove the Marvel comics logo from the one you have it in. CoH and Marvel's past relationship is...sticky. Having something like that in your work might get that picture edited out. (Don't know for sure, but why take chances?) -
Have fun with what you're doing. Simple as that. If you don't enjoy doing it, then you're not doing it for the right reasons.
And don't get frustrated, as hard as that may be some times. (I know, believe me. >_< -
:O Really nice! *is jealous of teh drawing skill*
-
Sorry about the delay in comics, everyone. I've been hitting the job hunt a lot more severe lately. Real world munnies are required. I haven't forgotten about Mapserved, rest assured.

Had a few requests to poke and prod the absurdity of some of the things the swear filter does...so...
Enjoy!
