  1. They just need to change it back. Keep DR for IO set bonuses to stay in check, keep supression. All good?

  3. What was *wrong* with it in the first place? Maybe they could reduce mez duration a little or perhaps limit it, DR was a good idea for IO bonuses...I dont remember it being that bad

  6. As of right now (I13 and I14), PvP and PvE areas are completely different, and seem as if they are from two completely different games. The goal of recent PvP changes was to give balence, when we had balance (excluding IO's) all along in PvE.

    PvE has the perfect balence to build PvP off of. Very simple indeed. The basic style is "The Higher the Damage, the Lower the Survivability". This basic idea is obscured by a few things.

    IO Bonuses
    Bonuses from Invention Origin Enhancements can grant too much survivability to AT's that should not have it. However, DR has taken care of this problem.

    Ancillary/Patron Pools
    This is something that concerns me, and what makes level 50 PvP so wrong... Powers from APP/PPP should not be as strong as the TRUE version of the power. Powers from APP/PPP should not be one of the most important powers for anyone.
    Force Field-er's focus on buffing others to help them survive. Because they do not do high damage, they have a power to help them survive, Personal Force Field. Blasters and Dominaters should NOT have this power because they get the power of high damage and high damage/mez, so they have LOWER survivability.
    Ice Tankers have Hibernate to get them out of sticky situations when they have angried too many foes. Blasters and Stalkers should NOT have this power because it gives them too much survivability for the amount of damage they can dish out.
    Also: Blasts and Mezzes should have a lower base damage and base duration than the TRUE version of the power. This will prevent Tankers, scrappers, brutes, and stalkers from avoiding their draw back of melee. Melee toons trade off range for survivability.

    Damage Numbers
    Powers should do the same damage in PvP as they do in PvE. This is pretty much a given. PvP should not involve studying every power to see what it will do once you enter a pvp zone. It should do the same thing no matter WHERE you are, PvP or PvE.

    Mez Durations
    So, recent PvP changes are to draw new PvP'rs to PvP zones? What happens when a player enters a PvP zone and happens to be on his controller? He tries to lock down his foe with all the mez's he has, but to no avail. Mezzes should actually work to full extent, but they should NOT do upwards of 115 base damage. Mez Protection should be put back to normal so that the squishy toons are vulnerable, melee toons are more survivable, and buffers are more useful.

    Archetypes have basic roles in PvE that should be the same in PvP.

    Tankers do LOW damage while taunting players to help teammates.
    Scrappers do HIGH damage but must be in melee.
    Blasters do HIGH damage from range, with low survivability.
    Controllers do LOW damage, but control enemies and buff/debuff to help team.
    Defenders do LOW damage, but buff/debuff to help the team.
    *Note: Damage should be ranked as follows:
    Blaster
    Scrapper
    Khedians?
    Tank/Defender
    Controller

    I am posting this because it bugs me as to WHY PvP and PvE have been THIS ALIENATED from eachother...

    Why are they so different when it's so unneeded?
  7. Yea, the base farming with PFF/heavies is out of hand. At nearly all times there is someone at villain base farming mu while afk/PFF, or a vill at hero base farming LB ambushes.

  9. Or you can drop concealment and get fighting or medicine. Theres a craftable phase shift power that you can buy from WW over and over again, and I doubt you need the stealth or invisibility from that pool anyways.

    I dont know much about SR because I've never played one, but:

    I have room for fighting or medicine. Which do I take?

    Should I take the AoE def toggle, AoE def auto, neither, or both?


    (macskull: I dont want to have to run back into atlas for insps, because for some reason everytime I zone into RV, my game freezes and it takes me like 5 minutes to load in. I try not to leave RV once im there.)
  10. That just sounds dumb. I would have to run back to base all the time for elude drops because im using it all the time for recovery instead of when I need it to survive.

    No offense, but I have the room in the build for fitness anyways.
  11. Im thinking SR too, because of the experiences I've had in pvp zones. SR scrappers are nigh unkillable. Once they get in a tight situation (fighting 3-5 at a time), all ya got to do is phase or elude.

    Probably going hasten, SS, CJ, SJ, Swift/Health/Stam, and stealth/invis/phase. If stealth toggle is repeatable to buy then i might go leadership or aid self >.>

  13. I know that I am making a spines scrapper for pvp. However, I'm not able to make a sure decision on a secondary.

    I know Regen is good but not so much for spike damage. I would take tough with regen.

    Invul has capped resist to S/L plus Dull Pain. Would take tough with this to cap S/L.

    Fire has about 60 percent res to most with tough, has healing flames.

    SR crazy def and elusitivity out the ears. Would be taking tough/weave with this also.
    (Seen alot of crazy powerful SR scrappers around lately...)

    Anyone have any tips as to what secondaries are best and any weaknesses/strengths?
  14. Seriously quills is worthless because it drops from mez anyways. Only attacks you REALLY need are barb, lunge, impale, laser eyes. Then get recharge.

    Targetting Binds

    Is there a bind where you can target Player Controlled Enemies rather then scroll through all the NPC's in the zone before actually targetting the person you want to kill? Or do I just have to click on them?

    How do you guys target in zones because I hate when I target through npc's until i target the person attacking me.

    Thanks in advance. Just looking for some tips or a bind.

  17. Mentioned it on my sg site. Also, Sonik Bane will not be ready for pvp at least for a couple months so you can count him out...still need to do alot of IOing and respecs.

  20. Here is a decent build I came up with, no slots though. Seems people arent paying attention, in pvp, mace beam does more dmg then poisonous ray, even the AoEs do more dmg. Also, dont take bash because mace beam is better damage. Wolf spider armor is worth it because it gives the resistance to slows and debuffs in pvp.

    Here ya go, feel free to modify this is just a base. Also: why did you take crowd control instead of pulverise?

  21. I am Sonic Bang. I want to be a Bane Spider. I need the name Sonic Bane. Hopefully by the time whoever has the name Sonic Bane reads this, I won't have already had my replacement Sonik Bane leveled up to 40.

    Seriously. When I kill a vill in RV with Sonic Bang, I want to be able to kill them on their hero with Sonic Bane. They will know it is me both times and hate me double.

    You think people will realize that Sonic Bang and Sonik Bane are the same person?
