Quote:Cross-eyed nothing. Coding requires a special kind of very analytical, very dedicated mind. I'm pretty sure most people would go a little insane trying.
...Though every coder I've known has been a bit atypical, socially, at the least. And a few have been downright demented. (Though they were screwed up looooooooong before getting into computers.)
I'm rambling. Anyway. Cross-eyed. Yeah. Let's go with that.
I've dabbled in html, javascript, visual basic and C++... yea... coding is a pain in the rear.
It's not something I have a mindset for. Though, on a small scale, if you gave me code with an error I could probably tell you what it was - not necessarily fix it or be able to recode from scratch, but I could say where it was.
And now you got me rambling... LOL -
Maybe OP just has something against furries? *shrug*
Either way, as others have stated, different departments work on different things.
Does it suck when the things you want done aren't and something else is? Yup.
But that doesn't mean they're not being worked on. You have to find the problem before you can make a solution, and the solution (or problem) can't break the game in other ways.
I would hate to be the guy looking through all the lines of code trying to find errors. I'd go cross-eyed! -
Two times come to mind:
Buff phase at the Hami raid. (Has happened more than once)
Created a new character in Praetoria, just zoned in, hit the power, and wham, Monkey'd. -

When I heard about this I was extremely disappointed and very relieved at the same time.
I was planning on making the 5 hour trip from NY to Boston specifically to get my hands on some costume codes. As it turns out I wasn't able to make the trip, and because of this I was very happy.
Talk about false advertising.
If something had come up where either cards weren't ready, or they didn't have cards to hand out, a posting on the forums saying there would be a sign-in sheet would've been nice.
Either way, I hope people who went get their codes. It's a big deal for me and I'm sure it's a big deal for others as well. -

Quote:Don't worry, I'll be running 50sI love the ITF, but i've been noticing lately, Apex excluded, that Tuesday/Wednesday are when people rush the WST on their 50s for the Notice. After that they grind them on every toon for the bonus, and i REALLY don't wanna do a dozen ITFs with like 1 50 on the team... :P
I don't think I have any sub-50s who can get into Cim anyways LOL

As a general rule of thumb, airing dirty launder in pubic is in poor taste.
Also, threatening to report people for "trolling" when they ask you to stop spamming broadcast is also poor taste.
Just my 2cents. -
Quote:The Alpha won't do anything to set bonuses. Imagine if you were slotting another standard defense into the power and that's your result - a 7th slot if you will. ED applies to some of it though.Hi all,
I have a Fort that is currently sitting at softcapped ranged defense, just shy of that in melee defense, and about 25% in AoE defense (without Mind Link active). As I get more money to throw at recipes that will hopefully get better.
I have been thinking of going the Nerve Alpha route as it will help with defense buff enhancement, but it occurs to me that a significant portion of my defense is being supplied with IO set bonuses. Does anybody know how much of a difference the alpha will make for my defense levels? Would I be better served going a different route? I don't really need the accuracy bonus.
Right now it's very hard to die from anything except when I am fighting DE, but I haven't taken her on any of the new TFs yet and I'm worried that, if fighting level 54 enemies, she will get squashed.
And for what it's worth, some of the DE (bosses in particular) have higher than normal to-hit values... -
Quote:Sadly the only thing you can change the size of without deleting is the plot size of the base.I'm very new to base building, so please excuse my ignorance. I want to replace a small teleport room with a bigger one, to hold more teleportation units. I can't see how to do it other than delete the room, which means deleting the existing teleporter units already in the room. Is there a way to temporarily remove the teleporter units?
Thanks!
As the poster above me mentioned, you can create the larger room off to the side, move the stuff there and delete the old room.
Just make sure the new room is attached to the base so that deleting the old doesn't break the continuity of the base.
As a side note, if you delete the teleporter pads, you get the prestige back but you lose the pads as they are "personal items" that need to be crafted.
The beacons for the pads, however, are not and you can delete/add whenever you want. -
Quote:I'm guilty of doing this but seldom to people I don't know. If I recognize someone in my various travels (usually at WW >_>) I pop a fortune.Seriously.
I'm over it.
I can't use the market, the train station, a trainer, a vendor, waiting in front of a mission door, a SF contact - anything - without someone whipping by and "reading my fortune" & making that accept window pop up over whatever I'm doing.
It's driving me loco. Let it go, people. It was cute when it came out. I'm going to start gunning down people that do drive-by-readings.
I don't do it to be annoying. I do it to give a little extra buffage.
If I ever fortuned you while at WW, I'm sorry -

Quote:LOL! You're too kindEven if I had heard of this, I am way too far away to attend. But I will say that the chance to meet Zombie Fryer in person is truly an incentive.
Sadly, it's looking like the trek to Boston will be too costly. Being that PAX is sold out, and they're not selling tickets at the door, I would only be going for the M&G.
Amtrak is approx $100 each way and the latest train back that I saw was 9pm.
And even if I took the Chinatown Bus I'd still have to find a place to stay for the night.
Sigh... -
So, anyone here attending the Meet and Greet in Boston?

Quote:Just out of curiosity, how are you getting to PAX East? I'm from NY also (was at the NYC M&G too) and am considering going.I have a three day pass. I'll try to get video of the panel, but I probably wont have it up as quickly as with NYCC because I won't be in, you know, my apartment. But I'll try.
It's my first PAX. I'm not really sure what to expect. I usually only go to comic book conventions. I mean, what's the swag? But I'm pretty excited.
Driving isn't an option for me so I was considering Amtrak and possibly getting a room at the hotel connected to the conference center.
Amtrak is like a four hour+ trip >.> Flying is always an option too... but I dunno. -

Quote:You are officially awesome.I have never eaten at Five Guys. I'll need to grab a burger from there sometime. I can't go with saying there's a burger I haven't tried!
The heavens call. The earth calls. The people call. They call on me to defeat evil! Listen, evildoers: I am a warrior of justice! KAMEN RIDER STRONGER!
Kamen Rider = Love.
I'm more of a fan of the new(er) series - Den-O, Decade, W, and OOO. Still, Kamen Rider is Kamen Rider. HENSHIN!! -
Quote:Okay, Beo and I were pondering this for a while (and by a while, I mean 5 minutes, but still)... what in tarnation is your in-game global? LOL I feel stupid for asking but for the life of us we couldn't figure it out.Yes, love running stuff with you and Beo and others. It's folks like you that help make the game fun for folks like me. So no pressure or anything.
Also, I found out that Beo avoids the forums like the plague so it's okay to talk about him here. (j/k hehehe) -
I'm a big fan of my SS/Shld brute. Rage + AAO + Fury + Shield Charge + Footstomp = me happy. And as far as endurance issues - three 6 slotted sets of Performance Shifter fix that easily
SS/WP is a solid combination too. Before I had my fire/kin (or brute) I would use my WP/SS tank for farming. And even on a tank, the damage was fairly decent.
On a side note, vet powers such as Sands of Mu, Black Wand and Nem Staff aren't affected by rage crashes.
Anywho, good luck with the bruteThey sure are fun!

I'd take one last trip to the Hive and dance in the bowl until the servers were shut down for good.

Dr. Q can be done in ~4 hrs or so.
I'd recommend reading the Wiki entry and doing a little prep work before hand.

You might also want to keep Vidiot Maps handy so you have an idea where you're going.
Having folks with recall friend / assemble the team is helpful too
Good luck on the TF! -
Quote:Flattery will get you everywhereI could keep yapping if you wanted. My schedule these days only allows for a few hours of play a week, if that much. Folks like you make stuff that would be out of my reach worth caring about. You make boring, painful, and impossibly accessible game content (Hami raids, TFs, etc.) fun.
I'm all about the fun. After playing for 6 years you have to find ways to keep yourself entertained - and really when you think about it - the content mostly stays the same - it's the players that are constantly changing.
Every player adds an interesting dynamic to this game.
That's one of the main reason I enjoy the Hami raids so much. There's so much banter and interaction.
And for what it's worth, personally, I appreciate all the folks who lead the raids - KiTTY, Exx, Arky, Photon, Greek, Fishbroot Xeaon and all the others who step up, and of course the team leaders.
