Thank you for all your hard work
*shares Klondike bars and nachos* -
That's okay. Everyone has different views - that just happens to be mine.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I'm just questioning whether or not the choice to put unlockable temps in the store is a good idea.
I think it's a safe assumption that most people like to do the least amount of work for the most amount of reward.
The devs spent the time and effort to put certain arcs, rewards, goodies, etc in game. If they're made available from day 1 of a hero's career there's less of a reason to run the content in game, especially with the focus lately being on Incarnate content.
Do I want to spend time weeding through lower arcs or level as quickly as I can to get the big shiny?
Anyway, as I said, YMMV. -
Give them time... give them time...
"New with i25, CoH:Sims Edition! Collect 'fun tokens' to increase your character's happiness level! Don't forget to use the bathroom from time to time! And be sure to wash your hands! Enjoy fine dining at 'Sparky's Bar and Grille!' Don't let your hero or villain go out on the town on an empty stomach!"
But yea... you're right, people play for fun. But the way I see it, the more you can buy in the store without having to do the pre-reqs in game, the less incentive there is to do it.
As always, YMMV and that's just my opinion. -
I seriously question the folks in marketing who think some of these "bundles" are a good idea, especially the release time of them.
Also, if you make special temp powers available in the store (Warwolf Whistle, Holy Shotgun Shells) there's no incentive to actually play the arcs to earn them.
I mean seriously, if everything's available in the store, what's the point of playing?
But on that note, just out of curiosity, if you already have the Warwolf Temp power (or the Shotgun shells) earned in-game, then buy the pack, do you get a separate temp power for them or they overwrite any existing ones? -

For Lt. Colonel:
Badge Text:
You have memorized the following recipes at level 15 and 20: Accuracy, ToHit Buff.
Badge Tips:
Requires 6 lvl 15 builds and 6 lvl 20 builds to earn this badge + 1 additional lvl 15 or lvl 20 build to earn this badge.
For simplicity's sake you would need 7 level 15 accuracy IOs -and- 6 level 20 accuracy IOs crafted.
If you have already done this then please ignore this post and /bug and /petition in game
Also, http://www.badge-hunter.com/ has lots of helpful information on badges -
Quote:It's listed under temp powers but it is permanent. When they ported it over, they just copied the Halloween Temp power text. One question though, it says it is temporary.
I do not want ti to disappear after December (or whenever).
Will it go into "Inherent" with the rest of my codes or am I going to have to keep paying 480 points forever?
If you right click on the power in the powers window, you'll notice there's no option to delete it whereas if you right click on other temp powers, you can delete the power. -
Quote:I'm 12 and what is this? ... or something ... I forget how that meme goes :PThis game is rated "T for Teen." Most everyone you're going to encounter, with very few exceptions, are adults. And in my experience, most of the people I know and play with are significantly older than teens.
Perhaps you should check out the SG/VG recruiting threads stickied at the top of the forums?
I'll echo the statement that most players are "adults." I don't think I've ever met anyone in game under 18.
Now, whether or not players -act- like adults is another story...

Quote:I love my Portable Crafting Station. It was one of the best investments I made on my farmer.I think a good example/barometer is the Field Crafting Station accolade. A lot of people hate it, and think it's a waste of effort and influence. But if you earn it the right way, you should ultimately have a positive net by the time it awards. YMMV.
I really need to get around to getting it on my other 2 farm brutes though >_>

Quote:My work here is doneNow I will be picturing what every contacts cells would look like. I can't help but chuckle thinking of someone like Statesman pulling out a Hello Kitty bedazzled cell. Which would explain why he doesn't have a call option for his TF.
Also... Synapse as the Verizon guy! "Can you hear me now?" *Super Speeds to next location* "Can you hear my now?" rinse, repeat, infinity LOL -
Just an aside, I find it comical that the signature characters who act as contacts have cell phones.
Can you imagine Black Scorpion pulling out a hot pink cell phone with little charms dangling from it? Or Ghost Widow pulling out an old 1980s style brick of a cell phone.
I mean, someone like Positron would have it built into his suit I'm sure. Maybe BS too, but still...
And Numina's a ghost... what's up with that!?
Also, if Faatham had a cell phone it would be fricken hueg liek Xbox. Just sayin... -
Quote:Sting probably has the greatest gimmick ever too! It's funny that you posted this. A few of us were on Teamspeak the other night talking about how gimmicky things have become.
Oh, and Sting is the greatest wrestler ever!
Or maybe the Undertaker... 20+ years and he hasn't changed much, except for that biker phase he went through...
Also, I had a nice long post typed up in response to the OP but my elbow hit my mouse into my printer and the stupid side/back button erased my post.
tl;dr version - I can understand the analogy and agree to an extent - but the bottom line is WWE is still going strong despite whatever competition is put in front of it. -

Quote:Yea I mean, I'm definitely in the minority with those who thought the initial prices for the costume codes were okay. The prices of prior Convention codes were supposed to be higher, but after the Spectral Pirate Power offered last month:
snip
2) 600 Points - too high.
Noted. Transformation Powers are now 480 points.
snip
Regarding the Ring Mistriss, that character might make an appearance around Carnival / Mardi Gras time....maybe. (In all seriousness, we didn't want to flood the market with a lot of the Transformation powers).
I went to the M&G in NYC last year, and even as a NYer between train fare, subway fare and the time involved, I'd have much rather paid $20 in the store.
Not that I didn't enjoy meeting folks from NCSoft but I had no interest in anything other than CoH and that was a small part of the M&G.
My perspective on the whole store thing, the store should be for extras that are either conveineces (unslotters, respecs, etc), bonus packs ala Boosters and cosmetic stuff - like the costume codes. I have no issue laying down a few bucks on that type of stuff, but gameplay related items like Power Sets really upset me. IMO those should be included with subscription fees or offered at prices relative to the expansions we've gotten.
Either way, as I said, thank you for offering these again. I was disappointed when the other codes were pulled and missed out on a couple that I was saving for.

Quote:I agree with this sentiment 1000%.Thank you for offering these costume powers to people who had no chance to go to these conventions. It's great you hand them out for free during those events, but selling them afterwards in the Paragon Market will be a great way to handle any future costume powers like this.
Compared to the cost of either traveling to a convention out of state or having to look to alternatives, these are a great price.
Hell, even at $10 a pop I didn't have a problem with the pricing.
So with that, thanks for offering these and hope to see more convention codes in the store soon
*cough* Ring Mistress *cough*

It was in the patch notes.
It looks like you have to be reinforced as a hero/villain to claim alignment merits now.
IE- run the hero or villain morality mission on characters prior to being able to claim A-merits.
Kinda sucks... -
I have them on my Fire/Kin and I really like them. They're small, out of the way and don't clog up the screen. And the flight part is also nice
Originally I thought they would be like the MM pets as well... but I've grown to love the little buggers! -
Further proof that duct tape can fix anything.
-
Quote:I was able to apply it. Best case scenario, I have the pack for 2 months. Worst case, I get an extra day out of it.im assuming it will either A) not let you apply the one till the other expires or B) will overwrite the current code you have basically extending it the difference in start dates
Red-name confirmation on what happens would be nice -
Just got my code but am at work so I can't check it.
I just bought a 30day jetpack last night funny enough.
Can I apply another jetpack code to my account or do I have to wait until the other one is done? (Assuming the free code isn't expired) -

It's been my (personal) experience that people who've gone from non-fit to fit do have a bit of smugness about them. The whole "Well, I was able to do it so you should be able to do it" mentality. It's kind of a like an "I'm better than you" attitude.
Just because you're more physically fit doesn't make you a better person.
Now granted you can't tell anything about the people featured in the article, only what you see in the picture, which doesn't really mean much to begin with - but that was the first impression that I had gotten. The people could be extremely nice or mean as pancakes.
Either way, to me, all the article says (proves?) is that gamers have a mindset that has synergy with working out.
Bottom line - anyone who is determined enough can do whatever they set their mind to, and to me, that's not news.
And I'll leave you with: "Why have a 6-pack when you can have a keg?"

Quote:I think a few brain cells died after reading that.Unlike, say, the the Fifth Axis of Council Column Reichsmann Nictus Earth Peacebringers who were destroyed by the Battalion that is the Coming Storm, created the Rikti, and is evidenced by the Shivan advance scouts and Nemesis traveling back in time to fight them. Even though Nemesis brought on the Rikti War, while the Praetorian War may or may not be tied to the Well of the Furies seeking a champion to fight off the Battalion.
When it's all said and done I hope they make a way to run the arc as one complete task force instead of in bits and pieces the way it is now.
Maybe it will be better in that format... -
I remember on one of the earlier badge runs I was on, I was hit by the beam and I wasn't even in the green.
The notification popped up, I jumped out and there must've been some kind of lag because I was floating in the air no where near the green and I was held and kersplat.
I think I got the Mo badge a couple of weeks after the trial went live then never touched it again until the other day.
It's my least favorite of the trials (even when not trying for side badges). -
If you click on your "Powers" tab and go to Combat Attributes, you can see what your actual defense numbers are.
The percentages from enhancements affect the stat of the power they're slotted in.
So if you slot an SO into one of the powers, it makes that particular power % higher. -
I wouldn't mind buying some Gladiator Armor +3% Defense IOs for 100pp each...
Wait, did I just say that?
... someone find me my meds!
