I can think of only two possibilities beyond Westley, and UniqueDragon hasn't been around...

True. I'm almost to the point of providing everyone with the exact details of the bug I found seeing that the exploitable portion of the bug was locked up.
I've been here for 5 years, but I'm facing a very fixed income at the moment. While I have saved enough to pay for my next year's subscription, I simply cannot afford to buy any add on packs in the near future.Quote:As for the Passport, I would pay with no problems, I don't mind spending a little bit of money towards the game I've played for the past 6 years.
Funny, up until this point I was submitting bug reports in hopes of the same. -

Quote:I would hazard a guess that would be a nightmare for the developers to track.Yes I agree with you Kheld. Even though I already have the Bug Hunter badge, its like hitting the lotto to be honest. I think the badge should be for finding 10 legit bugs that are fixed. That way it has a more realistic future of being earned by even a casual player.
Yuck. It would be yet another purchased badge at that point.Quote:As for Passport, they should just remove this badge all together, there is no way to earn this unless you get it through a bug that happens to award it to you. Or change the requirements to a simple server switch of a character, at least we have a way to earn it and possibly make NcSoft some money for purchasing a server switch

I think the reason I didn't include that was the fact it wasn't actually a travel power. It is a boost, sure, but not a continuous means of travel over 30 seconds at a time. It doesn't even last as long as most Ski Runs during the Winter Event (except the original gold medal runs).

Ok, a bit of bitterness here: I've spent since December 2008 to get a specific exploit shut down. I've not told any other player how to do it, I've /bugged it several times, PM'd it directly to a community rep (and answered the relayed QA Team's questions), PM'd the entire proceeding conversations to Positron (at his request) over a year ago, and during this beta I told Ocho about it. The bug still exists and it I can still repeat the process to activate the bug in question (yes, detailed instructions given back in 2008 still work), but the exploit has been shut down with a recent test change.
In addition, I've helped compile (and find/report a few more) badge bugs list for the developers to fix. I have not gotten the Bug Hunter badge on a single character.
So congratulations on the Bug Hunter badge, but after all the disappointment in trying to get the badge, I have to ask myself if it is worth the bother to ever report another bug again. -

This:
And this:Quote:New Forum software wasn't compatible with City Scoop's layout. Their were no alternate means to do something similar.
As a personal point, I stepped down from the EiC position at the beginning of the year. This was due to the fact that I have been looking for steady paying work (so far I've only been able to secure sporadic work). Even getting an archives (with what images haven't been removed from contributors) is a huge undertaking, not to mention how to get something that can be used on the forums.Quote:The new forum software doesn't play nice with the way the Scoop used to do things. Both the Scoop and Titan Network have been working on their own off-site project similar to the Scoop, but the Scoop's version appears to have lost development progress. TN's project still has development progress, but is not complete. Neither the Scoop site nor the TN site would have been/will be the same as the old Scoop, though.
Recently I've been looking at what I could do on a severely reduced basis (once a month), but that would likely be a PDF document due to a wish to bring a top-quality newsletter for everyone. -
Quote:If you are still reading this thread, here is some food for thought:It's not the fact that you can take a travel power at level 6 that intrigues me.
Even if I had this vet reward, I would still take Fly in the 30s.
It's the fact that you no longer need to take a prerequisite power in order to select the said travel power.
I think that is awesome. It would "completely" change my build.
The following shows that there are options besides vet rewards or taking dedicated powers:
Real money options:
Mini-booster: Temporary 30 Day Jetpack $5, 30 real days unlimited flight power on all characters on the account.
Super Booster IV: Martial Arts grants Ninja Run, level 4 onward on all characters.
Good Vs Evil in-game pack (or if the account doesn't have it, the full GvE edition): Pocket D Teleport and Jump Jet
30 real days temp powers:
Christmas Event (for candy canes) or Holiday cheer (random): 30 real days Jingle Jet unlimited flight power.
30 minute Temp powers:
Siren's Call: you can buy Flight, Teleport, or Super Leap from the Siren's Call mercenaries if your faction is winning the zone.
Non-consecutive lasting temp powers:
Level 1 onward, park your character in either Firebase Zulu (or other Shadow Shard) or Grandville for a max 30 minute (renewable) Jetpack. Get the Commuter or Pilot day job badges to refuel at any train station or Arachnos flier as well.
Level 1 onward go to Firebase Zulu or Grandville and purchase a Jetpack for 10,000 Inf.
Level 5-9 (50-50 chance at level 10), or with help do the Atlas Park Safeguard or Mayhem mission: Reward is a 2 hour Jetpack. (Can get once per character.)
Level 11-14 (50-50 chance at level 10 or 15), or with help do the Kings Row Safeguard or Mayhem mission: Reward is a 2 hour Jump Jet. (Can get once per character.)
Level 15-19 Villains - Steal a Goldbricker's Rocket Pack: 90 minutes of flight.
Level 20-24 Villains - Sky Raider Flight Pack 60 minutes of flight. (You can flash back to get this multiple times.)
Level 25 onward for both sides: Ouroborus Portal
Introduced with Issue 17:
The second of the new Positron's TFs has a Jet Pack as well.
All these options are available to all players.
As for other temp powers, see this list:

The options are there, you just have to see them.
I can't believe I missed this logical non-choice. Both options, as presented, are the same as pool powers only unlock at level 6. -
Quote:Okay so you're still focused on the travel power reward huh? The following shows that there are options besides vet rewards or taking dedicated powers:Giving the powers as an option to obtain to newer players isn't going to hurt anyone or ruin the game for the people that have them.

Quote:The new Willy Wonka movie just lacks the soul of the original. The New Willy Wonka doesn't work, I take it? I've never seen it so I don't know.
In this case, veruca doesn't sing "I want it now" and the Oompa Loompa song for her is just... lame.

Edit:
Actually the best scene of the whole movie is this (and the brief look at the puppet burn ward later in the movie):

If it comes on T.V. watch it once. I don't think it is even worth renting, but that is a matter of opinion. -
Quote:This also sounds reasonable.I like this idea. However, so that it's not a punch in the grooblykins, I'd like to put in a few stipulations.
- You must not be able to outlevel or get locked out of any of the arcs
- Do not lock us down in Ouroboros TF mode where we can't take breaks from it and invite friends along the way.
- Give us the Contact's phone number before we die of old age
- I'll think of more as time goes on...

Quote:I'll admit that I'm in the same boat. During last year I went through the last 6 months of Post Secondary School. Heck, if I really think of it I should have stopped subscribing for the entire time I went to school. That was over 2 years of subscription that NCsoft got from me while I was going to school.Intent aside, the result for me was a reason to stay subscribed during a prolonged period when I had zero time to actually play, and an added incentive to stay subscribed currently, when I have very little time to actually play.
Which over the course of the past year or so has added up to substantially more than they'd have gotten from me by providing no incentive to stay subbed and putting all the 'good' vet rewards in the store.
Seems to me that's 'working as intended'. -
Villain<->Rogue/Vigilante<->Hero
I'd imagine that each "<->" takes a week, so at least 6 weeks to go full circle. You know that people will do other things when they are the opposite faction.
Edit:
The developers could have been a bit more consistent with naming. Rogue and Vigilante should be two different things, or they should use the same name for the middle. -
Quote:You're right, this is a better version:I know I'm likely showing my age here, but toss in a link to that song (or whatever it is) so that we can hear it to really get the effect.
