I've been having the same trouble...logged in fine this morning, played for most of the day, got the dreaded soundloop bug crash, restarted the game and got a patch...and then couldn't get in. Rebooted the computer a couple of times, restarted the game several times, deleted .checksum, verified files...now I have finally gotten a patch again, here is hoping it works. Of particular frustration-levels to me is that I was in the first mission of a Task Force, which means that my team had to continue onward without me while still carrying the spawn-levels I helped create by my "presence" on the TF. :P
.....And....I'm in. I think it may indeed be something as simple as "which update server is it connecting to". Just keep trying til it works, or until the Devs get around to fixing the problem. :P -
My team trying it last night, no problems til final mission...killed the clones, got the badge, kill Neuron...WHAM! All get mapserved, and mission was reset, all our used inspirations there in our trays, and earned badge no longer showing. Did it again, with the same result...tried a third time, and all got mapserved as I was pulling Neuron....we all sent petitions with the email reply of basically "we are passing the buck to someone up the chain"...after 30 minutes or so we tried once more, killed the clones, got the badge, killed Neuron...mapserved, mission reset. At which point everyone basically had to log out for the night to get some sleep. I logged in briefly before work this morning to see if anything had changed, I was still on the TF, no new emails from the GM team.

This is probably posted in entirely the wrong place, but since this is the place I'm currently in, I thought I'd give it a try. Is there any chance of having the noise from Radiaton's Choking Cloud power fade away after awhile, like the noise from Mud Pots does? The power itself is great, I really love it....but I find myself frustrated from the constant and unending noise it makes. After a very short while I have to shut it off completely or risk getting a headache. Maybe you could consider making just this one small change to the power, while you're still in "changing things" mode?

I had the same exact error, sat around feeling unloved and very frustrated for a couple of days...found this thread and removed Speech Recognition & Handwriting Recognition both, now I'm able to get on the Test Server once more! Of course, nobody else seems to be there at the moment, so I guess I won't be doing the new TF anytime soon, but it's the thought that counts......

I'm getting the same thing, my Test Server is crashing when I try to load it. It worked fine the last time I used it (don't recall exactly when that was), but after it downloaded the patch this evening (06-03-09), and it says it is ready....I click "Next", then "I agree" and it flashes an error screen

I don't have a clue how to read files to tell me what it is I'm looking for, and I'm barely computer-literate enough to say that I'm running WinXP, have a good video card with the latest drivers, plenty of hard drive space, memory space, etc.
I've tried "Verify all Files" multiple times, I've tried creating a new shortcut using the " -test " in the Updater...nothing seems to work....any ideas? I'm glad it is not just me, this seems to indicate a problem with the patch rather than a problem with my computer. -
Just out of curiosity, are there any plans to make the "Passport" badge available to those who do the server transfers with their characters?

Playing in CoH, heroes can trade with other heroes...but can villains trade with villains? More to the point, when they meet, can a hero trade with a villain? Having traded influence back and forth among my alts, it would be interesting to know whether I will be able to give influence to my newbie villains!
