    Whe I attempted to solo him with my Fire/Nrg Blaster a while back he was hitting me from range through PFF. It took 5 small lucks before I was able to slow his hitting streak down enough to even try to fight at range. I was forced to fight in melee
  2. Im with ya on that one. I have 3 Energy Melee toons at 50 that I dont play anymore cause the set isnt fun to me. I dont mind the animation being longer than it used to be but how long they made it was bad

  4. I have a DM/SR with a high recharge build and was wondering if picking up lazer beam eyes and slotting it with an achilles chance for resist proc and fitting it into my attack chain would lower DPS.

    The attack animates quickly so I dont see that being a problem although the damage is lower than other attacks in my attack chain normally. Would the proc going off make up for it or would I be better off without it. I'm speaking mostly of hard targets EB/AV/GM/Hero
  5. Of all the Corruptors I have made the one that stands out as being strong from the start was my Ice/Dark

    At 50 you have access to:
    A huge Aoe heal
    3 Single Target Holds(+1 if in patron)
    AoE slow/-resist
    Cone Fear(causes no damage for return fire)
    Toggle -damage/-tohit
    Pet with AoEheal/hold/cone immobilize/tohit toggle and aura

    Grab a defensive shield from your patron and it gets even better

  7. Most fun is Fire/Fire cause there is nothing like FE+BU+Fire Melee attacks chain but my favorite is a defense capped DM/SR since it can take anything I throw at it

    Once side switching takes place however they will both be replaced by a def capped DM/SD Brute SoulDrain+Fury+AAO+Shield Charge = WIN

  9. I plan on doing it all. I mean I play on 8 man teams and run ITFs so I am sure I will be in a situation where I will be faced with 8 man spawns of Romans

    I also go for solo AV encounters both in the AE and normal game arcs/TFs

    My attack chain is fine now without gaps so the extra +rech would benefit Sould Drain/Dark Consumption mostly.

    I am used to playing Shields and /EA which offer a good bit less

    So once I hit 46% there is no need to go further?

    This was kinda the reason I left them at 50%. I know I have roughly 95% debuff resistance but me being at 50% allows for a few lucky hits with debuffs attached to get through without droppin me below 45%. I realize the 40-45% range is still a buncha defense but I dont want to see my defenses below 45% for any reason if I can avoid it. My first build had me at 55% to all once I adde in weave so I worked my way back by lowering my defense numbers to add +rech/+recovery/+HP
  12. Hey everybody!!

    I recently got my DM/SR Scrapper to 49 over the weekend and did a respec to drop a ton of IOs into it. I have my defenses to all types at 50% + and so far have 77% global recharge. My final build will be at just above 91% global recharge once I hit 50 and can slot some purples. I have the option of droppin some of my defenses into the 46% range in exchange for another 10% recharge for a total of 101% global recharge.

    So should I just stick with 91% recharge and 50% defenses or go for 46% defenses with 101% recharge. Will I notice not having that extra defense versus tougher opponents or should I go for the extra rech to up my DPS for AVs and such?

    I really like my Sonic/Pain

    Perma 45% damage bonus(assult+WoP+sets)
    95% tohit(Perma WoP)
    55% resist smash/lthl 44% resist to Ice(patron +perma WoP)
    18% resist to all(WoP Rocks!!)
    Passive heal aura equates to over 25 hp a sec regen
    AoE resist/defense debuff slotted with achilles proc helps a lot

  17. I logged both accounts into the arena last night to test the defense my SS/EA Brute had now versus in Issue 13. The drop in defense was just crazy.

    Aim and Build Up both were enough, when used individually, to bypass my defenses. I was using my Fire/Nrg Blaster who is Purpled out but even when I didnt use Aim/BU I still hit 3 out of 5 shots. I used Overload combined with all shields. Aim+BU let me hit often during the buff cycle.


    Im not saying defense sets werent OP in the last issue but now they are back to being total crap.


    I logged in my DM/SR Scrapper and was able to kill it in a single attack chain while Elude and all shields were running. In PvE melee defenses are beyond the cap w/o Elude but it didnt not stop my Blaster from landing 2 Bonesmashers and a Total Focus when Elude was running.

    This flip flop back and forth of PvP is ruining this game for me to an extent I really dont enjoy anymore

  19. Thats true but +hp adds +regen as well as a form of damage resistance since you can take more hits.

    I am pretty sure, even though it doesn't soiund like it, they meant to say that building for +regen before things like +hp are a bad idea since you get very little return on +regen sets and in order for it to make the IO investment worth it by stacking regen sets you end up losing out on other more important sets

  21. During AV fights I run Darkest Night, all WP toggles +tough and I even use footstomp in my attack chain since it animates quickly with decent damage(Arma proc and FF chance for +rech) and dont have end problems really.

    With slotted QR+Stamina and a chance for +end in both combined with the Numina/Miracle procs and some good +recovery bonuses my end is most often above halfway. Another great end bonus is the day job from pocket D. It offers the same as a numina IIRC and even though it says when out of battle it works in PvE in battle. I think the in battle discription is for PvP only. When i get that day power going my end stays capped off
  22. Mine is an all around build. I use it for farming/TF/door mishes and when I did PvP I even used it there too. I went with a ton of +rech for AV soloing. SS can crank out some serious DPS even factoring in rage crashes once you get enough recharge to stack rage for a good while.


    +rech on a WP Brute allows for much more offensive activity since you get both QR/Stamina. Since you can handle spammin attacks more than some other sets with end troubles, why not make it so you can keep on smashing. More offense = less defense needed
  23. I spent just shy of 3 billion and went for all +hp/+recharge/+regen. Didn't aim for any defenses although I did get a couple just from the sets I used. The Brute has 2466 HP with a passive regen of about 45 HP a second and 78% Global recharge. With 5 purples in footstomp and the chance for rech proc most things die before my hitpoints get low enough to warrant any insp usage.

    I did a build on Mids with soft capped defenses to exotic types and decent defense to smash/lthl but didnt like the loss of HP and recharge

  25. Nice post Mac. I wish somebody would listen and change something but it is very doubtful. If you need proof that they arent going to change just look at PvP IOs. They added IO rewards for getting defeats in PvP. Since PvP is not enough fun on its own, they keep adding more whipped cream and toppings but you know as well as I do. A turd with whipped cream, cherries and sprinkles is still a turd
