    This is sad.

It needs to be revamped so that the current "boss only" "LT only" mindless run after run can't be played for rewards. Limit the spawns so that 1 Boss 3 LT's are the max at any single spawnpoint regardless of team size.

Drop xp/ticket rewards exponentially or completely for repeating the same arc# in a certain time period. I'd not mind allowing the same arc to give experiance to the same player once every 5 days. Those who like running the same arc more than once can do so and just not get xp/in/tickets for it.

Rework the ticket system so that the ticket rewards requires 10-15 times more in ticket cost.

A single power that contributes a third of your overall damage. Smells like win.

Wait. I wasn't calling the OP anything. I think that the thread is a silly hoax because I'm expected to believe that he went from level six to level fifty (based on the OP's post history) in less than 48 hours, which I do not. I do believe you can go from 1-50 in a few weeks and know nothing about the game, in which case I'm sad because the game is pretty much screwed.

If in fact I'm wrong and he DID actually go from 1-50 in a couple of days, then I'm mad because the game is more broken than it ever has been, and that's saying something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Where've you been? This is been a hot point of debate since AE came out. It has hugely abusive farmability flaws. The worst was closed up, it allowed people to go from 1-50 in just a few hours. There are still a few pretty bad farming exploits, though. And they're being looked at by the devs. The trick is finding a way to close the exploits as fast as they're found without hurting the legit players.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've been around, I've just not been reading any threads with AE or Farm in the title. I seriously thought the 0-50 in a few days thing was hyperbole. Part of me still does. I've done an AE farm ingame maybe 3 times, and just didn't see what the big damn deal was, so I ignored it.

If the AE is really that exploitable, then IMO it's due to be deleted completely, or get as much of the nerf hammer as we got with the ED GDN AOE caps etc, because it is totally completely broken.
  5. No wonder there's so many *** threads about AE and Farming. I don't bother to read them since I've only stepped inside the AE a few times, and only done a farm twice.

    What utter and total crap.

Are you serious? He was six 2 days ago...and he's posting pics of a 50 he made in two days?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Yes I am serious.
Some folks just don't have the time or circumstances to get to 50 in AE in two hours like so many others do. So he took two days. Either way, in those two days AE messed him up, as it does to all the new players, he learned nothing and has come to the boards with an open mind.

He's not the first new player to think the whole game takes place in a building in Atlas Park. Sadly, he wont be the last.

But at least he came here wanting and willing to learn.

You seem to believe that if a person comes to the boards, asking about what missions to do, and sewer teams, then takes two days to get to 50 in AE can only mean, unequivocally, that the player is a troll and does in fact know what he is doing.

I think that is possible. I also think its possible that a new player can come to the game and level up dozens of toons to 50 in AE and have not one clue as to what an SO is, or that there are zones outside Atlas.

It is important to the game's future to help the new players so they'll feel like sticking around and paying that monthly subscription. Making accusations base on opinion rather then facts would make a much better deterrent then a welcome mat.

If this thread is a silly hoax (which is what I believe), then kudo's to the OP for presenting a grand bit of satire in a nice creative fasion.

If I'm wrong and he's sincere, then I'm glad he's learning the game.

    Cheers.

  8. Sorry I wasn't clear. I don't mean a 60 second battle. I mean 60 seconds of fighting.

If you take clips of time that involve nothing but fighting and put them together until they add up to a 60 second movie, you see that lighting field is as effective a power as you could want (speaking strictly in terms of damage output and endurance cost, of course).
  9. 2 days ago he was level 6 and asking about sewer trials and what missions to run.
  10. I only like Rain of Fire situationally, but since you specified blapper, I'd have to say you'd favor the situations I like to use Rain of Fire for. So I would personally take it as a blapper.

I know someone will say nuh-uh, but you should never skip breath.

If it came down to either/or, take breath.
  11. I disagree. In 60 seconds of fighting (not necessarily in melee, as the power has a 20ft. radius) you will potentially create 1104 points of damage at an endurance cost of 28.2 assuming 1 acc 3 dmg 2 endrdx.

In that same sixty seconds you could fire shocking grasp with the same slotting hasten up for a potential total of 1191 points at a cost of 66 end.

Total Focus can generate 1292 points of damage at an endurance cost of 44.1

Electric Field does comparable damage over time to a single target as Total Focus at almost half the cost in endurance.

Then you have to account for the AoE aspect. Every time you tick damage to more than 1 mob, you double down on your damage at additional half price of endurance.

I call it a bargain basement power over the lifetime of a melee blaster.
  12. -Fail-

    This is a hoax.
  13. Those short dead end alcoves are also lovely places for a tornado+lightning storm+quicksand+snow storm combo.
  14. I send and receive emails all the time. I use the email system to make notes about various things ingame, like market prices, objectives for a toon...things of that sort.

I haven't gotten an email from a non spammer since I3, and haven't sent one to another player since. Although I would probably use it heavily if I was a large SG leader. Or had more than 2 people on my @friends.
  15. You can pretty much play anything you want. I don't think there are too many or not enough of any particular AT. I've not experianced a situation where you couldn't find anything of a particular AT to fill a needed role. No healers here, they're defenders or controllers. Most defenders/many trollers can heal, but that's not the role.

"You need to go fight some guys - thanks for fighting some guys".

Not every mission. Some missions are "go tell some guy that you fight those guys, then go fight the guys the guy you tell tells you to fight."
  17. Most: Family. I like taking on organized crime.

Least: Council. terrible maps, boring powers, annoying troops.

    Windowed mode?

How do you run the game windowed? I can't find any options for it under menu/video, and I can't find a selection box option for any of the desktop shortcuts or icon options.

    Thanks.

    Team Leadership

    [ QUOTE ]
I'll have to resort to blind tells. I know some think it's rude, so I try to be as polite as possible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I generally find a good session hiding behind a polite tell.

I like it when I get invited to a team and the leader asks if I have current missions, even if I don't.

I like it when the guy with the star says at the end of the mission "Lets start the next door after everyone takes 5 for selling, drink, bio".

I like it when the guy with the star isn't afraid to kick someone.

I like it when the guy with the star says 'follow player X', and then leaves all the pathfinding to player X.
