Quote:No, I'm going to keep whining. Whining, to me, is a threat of "I'm going to stop paying". Make the market less obnoxious or you will stop getting my money. That's how transactions work: One side gets something from the other. In this case it's the Devs give me stuff I want and I give them my money. The problem is that most every change the devs make engenders this kind of reaction from some segment of the player base. It's impossible for them to distinguish from forum postings what the real opinion of the majority of players is.
I, for example, see a few areas where they should improve the market interface (make some things less automatic, while making others more so), but otherwise it just works for me. The previous system had its own warts, and the new one has many improvements that I definitely like (alphabetic sorting, looking up salvage for recipes, single-button click to find the bidding history for an item I've got stored, etc.). And probably the most important issue was the performance (though that never affected me).
When they nerfed regen scrappers there was howling, when they nerfed energy melee there was howling, when they changed PvP there was howling and every time they utter the words "Mission Architect" a thousand wolves descend upon Paragon Studios and sit outside their windows at night baying at the moon.
There is probably a money and time budget for changes to the market, and when that budget was/is reached they will stop changing the market. They will establish some metric -- say, total market volume relative to the number of contact hours -- and if that is comparable to the pre-I17 measurement, they will surmise that the market is functioning adequately. A review will be scheduled for some point in the future and in the meantime the devs will move on to other projects.
In other words, we need to suck it up and stop whining. Concentrate on having them fix the top five real problems and stop picking nits. We shouldn't chase too many cats up the tree and waste the devs' time trying to get them all down.
There's not some time/usefulness measure to decisions they make on what's implemented in CoH. There's a "will this change make us money" measuring stick. These changes are awfully close to having me fall, again, on the "not getting my money" side.
Fortunately for the devs, I hadn't had my Fallout Fix in a long time. Right now I delete most of my stuff or simply ignore the red "Recipes" "Salvage" "Enhancement" full notifications. I'd rather make nothing then deal with the market. -
So far I have received a total of 32,382,000,000 Inf from a total of 26 different people. Any amount, big or small, is acceptable. Please don't send me multiple billions at once. Feel free to send 1 billion wait for me to respond, then send another or give me a heads up that you want to do huge amounts.

*EDIT*
I was just told in Freedom Atlas Park (a haven of knowledge and world's greatest place to get advice on City of Heroes) that my exchange service is doomed when Going Rogue comes out. The person went on to explain how one could simply buy salvage or other items, change side, and then sell them.
I decided against explaining to him how my services might be more beneficial than his idea and simply told him I'd copy down his global and comments for entertainment purposes once Going Rogue comes around. -

This thread has some good info on the topic. The last post in the thread (my post) explains about keystroke going to multiple instances. -
My brother, Chriffer, who may or may not be seen in this video has reached level 38 on his one-life-to-live, perma-death, or "hardcore" City of Heroes" character. Diablo 2 had a "hardcore mode" where if your character was defeated via any circumstances that character became dead forever and unplayable. Any circumstances include lag, disconnects, your little sister logging in, cat on keyboard, stupid teammates, exploits, or War Witch spawning Hamidon on top of you.
Chriffer is playing a Storm/Cold defender. He only joins PuGs (pick-up group, only people he doesn't know) that he doesn't start, he doesn't hold the star, and he doesn't offer tactical advice. He rolls with the tide and sticks through thick and thin with the "bad teams"... well... maybe not ALL the bad teams. (Check out Bad Team Bingo which we should update soon). Now that he's reached the upper levels he has to play more conservatively. He's received 85,000 damage and been held/slept/etc. for 5 minutes. He's had some close calls and all his teammates have died a few times but he's been able to eat the candy tray and bail out. He just got Vengeance at level 38 and it really helps
He's promised to join one of my Imperious TF runs if he reaches level 50. Here's hoping I can rub his face in the dirt once he reaches 50. I know of at least two other players who have reached 50 undefeated while playing the game and not simply standing in a corner. Great work to them! Chriffer may be among them eventually. Hopefully, if he goes down he goes down swingin'. Better to see an awesome defeat than die to disconnect. Maybe I'll give it another attempt as well. My last defeat came when my team of 8 opened a door in a Council cave I knew was hot. I backed up because I could see the robot arms and legs sticking out. Naturally, when the door opened the entire pack shot me, not my 7 teammates standing next to them, and I died instantly. There passed Smurph, level 28 Controller.
If you are interested in giving this a try feel free to roll up whatever and join some PuGs. If you'd like to team with fellow one-life-to-live characters head on over to the Iron Eagles on Justice/heroside. We'd love to have you aboard! -
I thought I was going to have a period of unavailability in the upcoming weeks. I was mistaken. I will be available.

Designate a column as the "eating" column. Try to keep that column empty.
*EDIT*
If anything, I eat too many inspirations.

Exchange closed at the present time. My e-mail box is full so I cannot receive further funds. Those e-mails sent to me will be auto-returned.

Someone should host an AE contest to have skilled people make cool Task Forces like those.

Players believe it is a bug that the bottom pane does not display bidders/sellers.

Thursday was fantastic. We all flew along the levels. Very enjoyable and Frostfire was a piece of cake. One person disconnected as we started fighting Frostfire. We mauled the pack and didn't even notice he wasn't moving.
Tonight we had an impromptu team that got up to 5 people. Levels flew along. The only even close to "close-call" was me due to player error/stupidity. I backed up, ate my candy tray, exited the mission for a second, slapped myself, went back into the mission and all was good. Good to be reminded now and then not to be an idiot.
We were discussing difficulty settings and I was talking about how "95% chance of success isn't good enough for Iron Eagles". Of course, while I'm typing the Outcast I Darkest Nighted started running, aggroing guys at me, who leave toggle range and aren't debuffed like everyone else. I start getting shot at and not by enemies who have -40% ToHit. -
Neither is specifically good or bad with the Claws set in mind.
Willpower is generally "easy" mode. Virtually every power in the Willpower set focuses on survivability and is either a toggle or an auto power. Willpower let's you turn on your toggles and go to town. There's pretty much no buttons to press or anything to think about. Quick Recovery helps with the endurance and comes early. So Willpower is great for survivability and super for "I don't have to do anything".
Fiery Aura has damage potential but will require some effort to get it to work to full potential. Fiery Aura lacks knockback protection which means you will either want KB IOs or Acrobatics. Healing Flames is a big part of Fiery Aura's survivability. It requires you to push a button to use. You may or may not want to do so. Consume is a late power that gives endurance is also a button click. In general, Fiery Aura will be less survivability (which does not necessarily mean you will die more nor that you can't do the same things) as Willpower. In general, Fiery Aura will make you put forth more effort to get it to survive some situation where Willpower would have just stood there and survived. In compensation for making you actually do stuff, Fiery Aura gets a damage aura, Burn, and Fiery Embrace.
If you want to simply ignore your secondary and go smash stuff -- Willpower.
If you are willing to use inspirations in a cunning way, be quick and prepared with various click powers, and receive some cool bonuses to damage for your effort -- Fiery Aura -

Since my change in rates to 1-->.95 for your Influence to my Infamy and 1-->.9 for your Infamy to my Influence I have received 3.249B Influence and 3.549B Infamy.
Since Issue 17 I have been sent a total of 17,352,000,100 Inf.
Actually, I've been sent a little more than that. One person sent me near the e-mail cap of Influence and I returned the appropriate amount in Infamy. A short time later the same person sent me near the cap of Infamy. A few quick tells sorted out the 2nd e-mail was a mistake, the 2nd e-mail was returned, and all was good.
The moral of the story is "yes, I do want to take some of your money" but I will only take what you explicitly and intentionally consent for me to take. -
There's also the "team?", "team" and the notorious "?".
-
Issue 17 has really hurt my ability to play multiple instances on one machine. I use the same graphics settings as I did previously, actually I use lower settings, and I have decreased performance graphically on my computer. You may experience some difficulty running multiple instances on one machine that you normally should not. I believe this graphics issue is a "known issue" and is being worked on by the Dev team. The issue has various negatives for various players and one of those negatives is one's ability to play multiple instances on one machine. I can still do it but not to the ability I could before.
I can't do that anymore without seeing major problems. -
Quote:There may be examples of items doing crazy things due to the new UI. Respec Recipes may be affected in some amount by the new UI.I suspect the new interface is keeping people away. Prices redside of the stuff I frequent seem to be steadily going down (Respec recipes 77M?!1?) while they sit on the market for even longer.
Increase in supply from more people playing redside due to the new MM set, followed by a decrease in people buying because they arent comfortable with the interface. Thats my hypothesis at least...
Im dealing with the UI relatively well. I really enjoy the insta salvage feature but dislike the tabs in general.
However, Respec Recipes prices regularly and predictably perform as they are doing so now. New Issues frequently bring freespecs. Also, Issues usually cause players to roll new characters which have however many Vetspecs that person has, access to two builds, and access to the three respec trials. Prices on Respec Recipes usually plummet immediately after a release of a new Issue and are at their peak around Open Beta for the following Issue. Respecs may be affected by the new UI, but the major factor is likely the new Issue.
Sidenote: I believe at least one forum frequenter alludes that my description of what will occur to Respec Recipes causes what happens to occur: that I am making self-fulfilling prophecy. So, personally, I will believe it is my own divine hand reaching down from the seat beside War Witch to be the cause of Respec Recipe's current drop. In a week, maybe 3 or 4, the price will start to climb. Ceteris Paribus, that's my plan for my divine will. (Paragraph should be read tongue-in-cheek). -
Quote:So your answer is "no, I don't have anything to support my statement...There's a thread called "What can other Secondaries do better than Shield Defense" in the Scrapper forum, where Castle and many others mention that SC is over performing, and Castle deducts that this is because of a broken modifier in the AT value or some such. At any rate, it is going to be nerfed.
You were merely remarking that Shield Charge is currently overpowered and added in that second part without considering its basis in reality, fact, or truth. When you said "...and Fire/Kin totally pwnz it, yo" you were making some kind of joke, speaking in hyperbole, or simply talking out of your booty. Do I understand that correctly? -
-
Or you can use a power in between SBing other people. Ten seconds of animation time on SBing, 110 to do whatever, no time wasted.
-
Speed Boost has a 1 second animation. So SBing a team of 7 people shouldn't take more than 10 seconds out of 120. There's no cause for alarm to chase down people who run far away from you. If you haven't brought your time SBing down to 10 seconds you simply aren't pressing the buttons fast enough.
*EDIT* Of course, some people may not want to, or may not be able to, get SB down quite that fast and spend 10 of 120 seconds working fast fingers. -
Quote:I am still doing it.I could use 2 billl infamy for my influ.
1) are u still doing this
2) are you still trading infamy
3) whats the converaion rate for 2 bill

The rates are in the first post.
Your Influence * .95 = My Infamy.
All via e-mail.
@Smurphy in game. Send a small amount if you want to test it and see if it goes to the right place.
2 Billion Influence of yours would become 1.9B Infamy of mine
